The best RVs for couples have a bed you never have to make up, two good seats and a size you are happy to tow or drive. Strong 2027 layouts for two include the Jayco Jay Feather 24FK travel trailer, the Jayco Comet, Jayco Swift and Thor Tellaro camper vans, and the Jayco Redhawk Class C.

Prices are the builders' starting MSRPs for the 2027 model year, as listed on 21 October 2026. Jayco states that its MSRPs do not include freight and dealer prep charges. Budget for freight, dealer fees, taxes and registration on every model, and ask each dealer for an out-the-door price. Browse RVs for sale on Searchshop to see what dealers have in stock.
These picks come from the builders' published data, not from tours, test drives or owner surveys. Every figure was read from the Jayco and Thor Motor Coach websites on 21 October 2026, and every floor plan in the table is a 2027 model.
Each floor plan was checked against what a couple can confirm before visiting a dealer: the builder's sleeping capacity, the type of bed, the seating options, the length, the starting price and, for trailers, the weights. Floor plans built for two, where the builder lists a sleeping capacity of two, are included alongside slightly larger plans with a bedroom and an optional king bed or theater seating. Lengths are the builders' listed figures; Jayco's are overall exterior lengths.
A good couple's layout gives each person a way into bed, a comfortable place to sit, and enough room to pass each other in the kitchen and bath. Sleeping capacity on a spec sheet says how many people can sleep aboard, not how well two people can live in it day to day.
- A bed that stays made. A fixed bed or a Murphy bed saves the nightly job of turning a sofa or dinette into a bed.
- Room around the bed. A bed you can reach from both sides means neither person climbs over the other at night.
- Two real seats. Theater seating or recliners give two people a place to sit that is not the dinette bench.
- A bath you can both use. Check the shower size and whether the toilet is a cassette or a flush toilet over a black tank, since the two are emptied differently.
- A size you are comfortable with. A shorter RV fits more campsites and is easier to park, while a longer one gives more space inside.
The 2027 Jayco Jay Feather 24FK is the one Jay Feather floor plan Jayco rates to sleep up to two people, from $47,243. Jayco lists it at 27 ft 0 in overall, with an unloaded vehicle weight of 5,830 pounds, a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,500 pounds, a dry hitch weight of 830 pounds and 1,670 pounds of cargo carrying capacity. Jayco offers a second 13,500 BTU air conditioner in the bedroom as an option on this plan.
For a lighter trailer, the Jay Feather 18RBF starts at $38,243 and sleeps up to four. Jayco lists it at 23 ft 1 in overall, with an unloaded vehicle weight of 4,655 pounds and a gross vehicle weight rating of 6,200 pounds. Jayco offers the 18RBF with a king bed option and theater seating with trays in place of the tri-fold sofa, two upgrades that suit a couple.
Jayco's standard bed across the Jay Feather line is a 60 by 80 inch queen, or 60 by 76 inches in Murphy bed models, and Jayco says most Jay Feather floor plans offer an optional 72 by 80 inch king bed. The Jay Feather floor plans guide compares all 16 layouts if you want to see the larger ones.
Camper vans suit couples who want to drive rather than tow, and these three Class B lines are rated to sleep two. Each is built on a van chassis and is under 21 feet long.
- Jayco Comet: the 18L starts at $122,175 and the 18C at $131,175. Both are 17 ft 10 in long on a RAM ProMaster 1500 van and sleep up to two. Two bench-seat sleeper sofas convert into one 48 by 73 inch pull-out bed, and the toilet is a cassette type.
- Jayco Swift: the 20E, 20L and 20T each start at $150,300, are 20 ft 11 in long on a RAM ProMaster 3500 and sleep up to two. A pop-top is optional on the 20E and 20L.
- Thor Tellaro: the 20L, 20U and 20Y start at $161,560, $162,120 and $162,960 and are each 20 ft 11 in long. Thor lists the 20L with an expanding sleeper sofa and an optional SkyBunk, the 20U with dual expanding sleeper sofas and the 20Y with a rear living and sleeping area.
The Comet's bed is 48 inches wide, which is a foot narrower than the 60-inch queen in a Jay Feather trailer, so lie down on it at the dealer before you buy. For off-road use, Jayco's Terrain 19Y and 19YG also sleep up to two, on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD van, from $223,118 for the 19YG and $247,125 for the 19Y. The best Class B RVs guide compares tank sizes and more vans.
Class C motorhomes give a couple a separate bed, more seating and more storage than a van, at a longer length. The 2027 Jayco Redhawk 24B starts at $158,543, is 26 ft 8 in long and has a queen-size bed. The Redhawk 26M starts at $161,918, is 28 ft 8 in long and has a queen-size power Murphy bed and an electric fireplace.
Both are rated to sleep up to five and have an overhead bunk, so a couple has spare beds for guests. Jayco offers theater seating in place of the dinette on both, with an additional TV in the cab-over. Both ride on a Ford E-450 chassis with a 7.3-liter V-8, a 14,500-pound gross vehicle weight rating and a 7,500-pound hitch with a 750-pound tongue capacity.
A Murphy bed folds up against the wall during the day, which opens floor space in the 26M. A fixed bed, as in the 24B, stays made. For a diesel option on a lighter Mercedes-Benz chassis, Jayco's 2027 Melbourne lists the 25L with a queen-size bed and the 25R with a queen-size power Murphy bed, on a Mercedes-Benz 3500 chassis rated at 11,030 pounds gross vehicle weight. The best Class C motorhomes guide covers more coaches.
A fixed bed is the most comfortable choice for a couple who travel often, while a Murphy bed or a convertible sofa trades some nightly setup for more daytime space.
- Fixed bed (Redhawk 24B, Melbourne 25L, Jay Feather 24FK): best for long trips and couples who go to bed at different times.
- Murphy bed (Redhawk 26M, Melbourne 25R): suits couples who want an open living area during the day and do not mind lowering the bed each night.
- Convertible sofa or bench bed (Comet, Tellaro 20L and 20U): suits couples who want a short van and accept making up the bed.
Weight matters most with a travel trailer, because your tow vehicle has to handle the loaded trailer, not the empty one. Compare your vehicle's towing and payload ratings with the trailer's gross vehicle weight rating, the most it may weigh when loaded, rather than its unloaded weight.
The Jay Feather 24FK shows the gap. Jayco lists it at 5,830 pounds unloaded but rates it to 7,500 pounds loaded, and its 830-pound dry hitch weight is measured empty, so the real figure changes as you load it. The half-ton towable travel trailer guide walks through the truck check step by step. For a motorhome, check the length against the campgrounds you plan to use and the hitch rating if you want to tow a car.
Start with how you want to travel, then pick the bed type, then the size.
- Tow or drive? If you already own a capable truck or SUV, a trailer like the Jay Feather 24FK or 18RBF starts at a fraction of the price of the motorhomes in this guide. If you want one vehicle, look at a Class B or Class C.
- Short trips or long stays? For weekends, a van with a convertible bed can work. For weeks on the road, a fixed or Murphy bed is easier to live with.
- Room for guests? If family visits, a Class C such as the Redhawk adds beds without making the main bedroom smaller.

A couple needs less length than a family, because two people do not need bunks or extra beds. Floor plans built for two run from vans under 18 feet, such as the Jayco Comet, to trailers around 27 feet, such as the Jay Feather 24FK. Choose the shortest RV that gives you a bed you like and two comfortable seats.
A camper van is big enough for two people who spend most of their time outside and travel light. The trade-off is space: the Jayco Comet and the Thor Tellaro 20L and 20U use beds that convert from seating, and the Comet uses a cassette toilet. Couples who want a separate bedroom or more storage usually step up to a Class C motorhome or a travel trailer.
A couple who already owns a suitable tow vehicle will spend less on a travel trailer than on a motorhome among the models in this guide. The 2027 Jay Feather 24FK starts at $47,243, while the Class B and Class C models in this guide start above $120,000. A motorhome suits couples who want to drive one vehicle and avoid hitching and unhitching.
"Sleeps 2" means the builder rates the floor plan to sleep two people. Floor plans rated this way, such as the Jay Feather 24FK, the Comet, the Swift and the Tellaro, are laid out for a couple rather than a family. The rating does not tell you whether the bed is fixed or converts from seating, so check the floor plan drawing.
