The best Class C motorhome depends on how long a coach you can live with, how many people it must sleep and what you plan to tow. From the 2027 Thor Motor Coach and Jayco lineups compared here, these four Class C motorhomes cover the main choices, from a 20-foot gas coach to a 39-foot diesel Super C.
| Model (2027) | Length | Sleeps | Builder's listed price |
| Thor Four Winds | 20 ft 5 in to 32 ft 8 in | 3 to 7 | $127,960 to $173,040 MSRP |
| Jayco Redhawk | 26 ft 8 in to 30 ft 7 in | Up to 7 | From $157,043 |
| Thor Four Winds Sprinter | 25 ft 10 in | 3 to 4 | $181,860 to $184,660 MSRP |
| Jayco Seneca (Super C) | 34 ft 2 in to 39 ft 4 in | Up to 9 | From $378,275 |
Prices are the figures each builder shows on its model pages, read on 12 October 2026: Thor labels its floor plan prices MSRP, and Jayco shows a "starting at" price. Neither page says what the price includes, so ask the dealer for a full price with freight, prep, taxes and fees.

The four picks come from the 2027 Class C lineups of Thor Motor Coach and Jayco, chosen to cover four common needs: a wide choice of lengths, towing with a gas coach, a compact diesel coach and a Super C. These two builders' model pages state the model year, the length and sleeping capacity of each floor plan, and a price, so every figure here could be read from the builder's own page. Winnebago also builds Class C motorhomes, but its Class C pages checked did not state a model year with a price, so its models are not compared here. Every figure was read on 12 October 2026. The picks come from published data, not test drives.
The 2027 Thor Four Winds offers the widest spread of the four, with 11 floor plans from 20 feet 5 inches to 32 feet 8 inches. Thor lists it on a Ford chassis with gasoline power and sleeping capacity from 3 to 7.
The shortest floor plans, the 19Z and 19X, carry a GVWR of 11,500 lb and sleep 3. The longest group, from the 28G to the 31E and 31H, carries a GVWR of 14,500 lb. Thor's floor plan prices run from $127,960 MSRP for the 19Z to $173,040 for the 31E, which also sleeps the most at 7. That range suits buyers who want to compare a short coach for two against a longer family floor plan from the same line.
The 2027 Jayco Redhawk lists a 7,500 lb hitch with 750 lb tongue capacity and a 7-pin plug as standard. It is built on a Ford E-450 chassis with a 7.3-liter V-8 rated at 325 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, a GVWR of 14,500 lb and a GCWR of 22,000 lb, and it carries a 55-gallon fuel tank.
Jayco offers three 2027 Redhawk floor plans. The 24B is 26 feet 8 inches long and starts at $157,043; the 26M is 28 feet 8 inches and starts at $160,418; both sleep up to 5. The new 27G is 30 feet 7 inches, sleeps up to 7 and starts at $160,418. Before you choose what to tow, ask the dealer how the Redhawk's hitch rating and GCWR apply to the loaded motorhome and the trailer you have in mind.
The 2027 Thor Four Winds Sprinter is the compact diesel pick, at 25 feet 10 inches on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. Thor lists two floor plans, both with a GVWR of 12,125 lb: the 24LT sleeps 4 and is priced at $181,860 MSRP, and the 24LV sleeps 3 at $184,660.
Compared with the gas Four Winds, the Sprinter version gives up floor plan choice and sleeping space in exchange for diesel power in a single short length. With sleeping for 3 or 4, it suits buyers who want one short length rather than a choice of longer family floor plans.
The 2027 Jayco Seneca suits big groups and heavier towing: it is a Super Class C that sleeps up to 9, built on a Freightliner S2RV Plus chassis with a Cummins 6.7-liter diesel rated at 360 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque. Jayco lists a GVWR of 31,000 lb, a GCWR of 43,000 lb, a 12,000 lb rear hitch receiver and a 100-gallon fuel tank.
The Seneca runs from 34 feet 2 inches to 39 feet 4 inches and starts at $378,275, the highest price of the four. With room for up to 9 and a hitch rated at 12,000 lb against 7,500 lb on the Ford E-450 Redhawk, it suits buyers who need more sleeping space or towing capacity than the Ford-based coaches here offer.
Compare the weight ratings, sleeping capacity and length of the exact floor plan, not the range for the whole model line. Within the Four Winds line alone, Thor lists GVWR from 11,500 lb to 14,500 lb depending on the floor plan.
- Length: check that the coach fits your driveway, storage space and the campgrounds you use.
- Sleeping capacity: the builders list it per floor plan, and it changes within a line, from 3 to 7 in the Four Winds.
- Chassis and fuel: the Four Winds is a gasoline coach on a Ford chassis, the Redhawk uses a Ford E-450 chassis with a 7.3-liter V-8, the Four Winds Sprinter is a Mercedes diesel, and the Seneca a Freightliner diesel.
- Towing: compare hitch ratings and GCWR, such as 7,500 lb and 22,000 lb on the Redhawk against 12,000 lb and 43,000 lb on the Seneca.
On a used Class C, the Searchshop used RV inspection guide explains what to check before you buy.
The right Class C comes down to length, sleeping space and towing. Use these points to narrow it down:
- You want to compare many lengths in one line: start with the Thor Four Winds and its 11 floor plans from 20 feet 5 inches to 32 feet 8 inches.
- You plan to tow a small trailer or car: look at the Jayco Redhawk and its 7,500 lb hitch, and check the 22,000 lb GCWR.
- You want a short diesel coach for two to four: the Thor Four Winds Sprinter is 25 feet 10 inches.
- You need room for up to 9 or heavier towing: the Jayco Seneca Super C has a 12,000 lb hitch and a 43,000 lb GCWR, at a much higher price.

Jayco calls its Seneca a diesel Super Class C and builds it on a Freightliner S2RV Plus chassis with a Cummins 6.7-liter diesel, a GVWR of 31,000 lb and a GCWR of 43,000 lb, far above the 14,500 lb GVWR of its Ford E-450 Redhawk.
Towing depends on the hitch rating and GCWR of the exact model. Jayco lists a 7,500 lb hitch and a 22,000 lb GCWR for the 2027 Redhawk, and a 12,000 lb rear hitch receiver and a 43,000 lb GCWR for the 2027 Seneca. Ask the dealer to confirm the ratings for the exact floor plan and how they apply to your trailer.
