Question 1

How many RV dealers are in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

There are 13 active RV dealers listed on SearchShop in New Mexico. You can browse each dealer's inventory, hours, and contact information directly from their profile page.

Question 2

What should I look for when buying an RV in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

When buying an RV in New Mexico, inspect the roof for leaks, check slide-outs for smooth operation, test all appliances (furnace, air conditioning, water heater), examine the undercarriage for rust or frame damage, and review the vehicle history report. For used RVs, always ask for maintenance records and have a certified RV inspector look it over before you sign.

Question 3

How does RV financing work?

Accepted Answer

RV loans are similar to auto loans but typically have longer terms — anywhere from 10 to 20 years for larger units. Lenders consider your credit score, debt-to-income ratio, and the RV's age and value. Rates currently range from roughly 7% to 14% APR depending on your credit profile. Getting pre-approved before you shop gives you a firm budget and stronger negotiating position.

Question 4

Should I buy a new or used RV in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

New RVs come with manufacturer warranties and no hidden wear, but depreciate quickly — typically 20%–30% in the first year. Used RVs offer significant savings and the original owner has absorbed the steepest depreciation. If buying used, budget for a professional inspection ($200–$400) and factor in any deferred maintenance. For first-time buyers, a lightly used 2–5 year old model often provides the best value.

Question 5

What is the best time of year to buy an RV in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

Late fall through winter (October–February) is typically the best time to buy an RV. Demand drops after camping season, dealers are eager to clear inventory, and you can often negotiate a better price. Many dealers also run end-of-year clearance events. Spring buying sees higher prices because demand spikes as camping season approaches.

Question 6

How do I find a reputable RV dealer in New Mexico?

Accepted Answer

Look for dealers with verified reviews on Google, the BBB, and RV-specific forums. Ask about their service department (warranty repairs require an authorized service center), the brands they carry, and how long they've been in business. SearchShop shows dealer profiles with contact info, inventory, and customer reviews — a good starting point for comparing New Mexico dealers.
