Can’t say enough about General RV Brownstown. From start to finish a fantastic experience. My wife and I were at the MARVAC RV and Camper show when we checked out a Winnebago 2108TB. It was a perfect fit for our needs. Nick the salesman from GENERAL RV got the ball rolling. Excellent sales rep and good natured professional. At the General Rv Brownstown location we were looked after by Amber, a true delight. She guided us through the entire process with charm and professional attitude. Brendan did a terrific job walking us through our new camper and explaining all functions. Joe got us processed with all the paperwork in a warm and friendly manner. John in service handled getting our new camper road ready and addressed all the options we added on. A shoutout to Clarence in service for going the extra mile in installing our new sofa bed. Extra hugs to Amber. She is amazing and a joy to be around. Thank you to the entire General RV Brownstown staff. Exceptional Business.
We had an issue with our TV in our Primetime Tracer that we purchased from the Brownstown location. It is a 2025 model. I called when the phones were down a few weeks ago. Chad from service texted the next day to ask about the issue. He opened a warranty claim with the manufacture and in 2 weeks we had a new TV and remote in the box waiting for us to pick up at the store. Just had to bring in the original one. No arguing or fuss. The service team handled all the paperwork and once again we are very impressed with the team at this dealership. Very friendly and helpful staff all around. Pic for attention.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from General RV. They charged me $280 per hour for diagnostics, which I find excessive. I would advise against contacting Chad at this establishment. They fixed the generator, but now claim that the power is not reaching its electrical intended destination, he wants to charge me another few hour’s diagnostics fee to figure that out. They do this everyday, I am pretty damn sure the electrical guy knows already what the problem is and Mr. Chad wants to charge me another diagnostic fee. I believe $280 for diagnostic services is unreasonable. Furthermore, their quote of $250 to change 1.6 quarts of oil to in the generator seems inflated with no filter to change either. I am disappointed in their business practices and feel that they take advantage of customers with a smile. They did some body work on my RV 2 years ago when someone backed into the side of my RV. Their work is only guaranteed for 90 days and cracked after driving 600 miles. Now get want to charge me $4300 to fix the cracks! And when I went to pickup my RV as we were walking back Mr.Chad says, I don’t want you to insult you, but I have a friend that will buy it off you for $3000!
Would love to give the place 5 stars. Would love to say the buying experience was great. But I write honest reviews. Salesman was a typical salesman. I'm not sure how else to describe. I gave him parameters of what I was after, and he showed me what they had to fit them. Not overly pushy, not trying to guide me into something I didn't want. So hey, let's do a deal... this is where the rocky road begins. So my used travel trailer(a 2021 alpha wolf, bought in june 2025) was a deal I was happy with. They wanted money before they even asked about financing to hold the camper for the weekend. No. I told them I had a certain amount to put down, they tried to push me into putting more down. No. When they brought me in to take possession of it, THEN they let me know the front stabilizers didn't work unless you manually cranked them. No. Then, it made it seem like I was being unreasonable for wanting them fixed before I left with it. No, I agreed to a functional camper. Multiple times, I was told, "Well, we already had to shave some off the price for financing," trying to get me to accept the non functioning equipment at the last minute. They almost lost the entire sale over a 10 dollar switch. After finally fixing the issue, they hooked up the hitch and trailer, and I took it with. After a total of an hour and 15 minutes of driving with it, the front left tire tread ripped off and damaged some wires and insulation. The only offer I was really given was to bring it back to the service department that masked the dry rot with excess tire shine. I was headed to their north canton ohio location and thought I could take it in over there, but they messed up which day I could bring it to them, then didn't call me back about bringing it in on the originally agreed on day to drop it off. But that's not this location's problem. 3 of the 4 tires were bad once you could actually see them(now that the shine was slung off) They offered to waive the diagnostic fee to fix the issues from the tire coming apart, but that's where I gave up dealing with them. Local mobile mech fixed the wiring in about an hour, I bought 4 new tires out of pocket, and I sincerely doubt I will ever give them any more business. If they want to I have a camper, and everything works now, but I'll save the headache next time and deal with someone else. If you're buying from them, look everything over with a fine tooth comb. Don't leave until you're sure you got everything. It'll save you a headache for sure. Edit- dropping the review to 2 stars as they even screwed up the paperwork for the auto debit, apparently. Now I'm hoping I don't have a large charge. Seriously, go to the competition. These guys will definitely screw up.
Very happy with our new camper! Our salesman Steve Gubics was great to work with. I would definitely recommend checking out General RV if you’re in the market for a new or used camper. Give Steve a call!
