Our brand new Grand Design had a lot of defects/issues that should have been addressed before it was delivered to the dealership. The issues required in-shop fixes that resulted in us paying for our RV and storage while it sat at the dealership shop. We had a great experience with our first RV, a Jayco. The Grand Design has been a big disappointment from the time we signed the papers.
We like the RV overall, but feel that the dealer fell way short of expectations. There was a bait and switch attempt at pickup, the camper needed several adjustments that they should have completed. They failed to provide the second battery, which I purchased on my own. We were looking at an Apex Nano, which looking back, we should have purchased.
It was built during Covid. Two recalls fixed. Having to replace the battery. Not very well made at all. Disappointed.
Overpriced and poor quality of workmanship, water leakage and buckling walls.p.
The aesthetics is fine with the decor. The flooring subfloor is the screws are coming out of it and causing rust spots underneath the laminate and bumps. Also dealing with the warranty issues are a pain with the seller.
We purchased our RV a 2023 Thor Tellaro in January. There were a few things wrong ie missing medicine cabinet door, we could refill propane due to valve being broken and we were assured that our list of issues would be resolved quickly. We are now 11 months post sale and they have not been resolved. We purchased from a supposed reputable dealer in Jacksonville FL. We went to another to dealer same company and were told they were being bought out and could NOT work on our RV per new company. I want to know where I can get my issues taken care of. Thor???
After owning for two months, I'd say the Furrion appliances are nice. The commode seems to work good. The interior furniture and cabinetry is seriously lacking in quality. I've seen better craftsmanship in a junior high shop class. Cabinets are falling apart. For the money I spent on this camper, I am really regretting my purchase already.
Our Ibex 19QBS is a nice size. It tows easily and has many aspects not usually seen in an RV this size (23 feet).
Pros: Style and upgrade "appearance." Cons: Fiberboard cabinetry is extremely susuptible to mosture. An errant splash in the bathroom sink causes the cabinetry and trim to swell. Parts are cheap builder grade. Very hard to get replacement of maintenance item (i.e., Exhaust hood LED light, whitewall tires). Tires are cheap and blow out easily, even when traveling below the speed limit and loaded as lightly as possible.
My teardrop rv was great for 1 person but is to small for 2
