I felt inclined to write this review to highlight the truly amazing people at General RV Wixom that made this a wonderful experience that far exceeded anything we've ever encountered. From our first time visiting, we felt welcomed by the friendly staff at the front desk. Our salesperson, Shane D. worked out a fantastic deal and made it smooth and seamless - he listened to all concerns and gave great feedback - highly recommend! Patrick R. took us on our RV tour on the day of pickup and he went above and beyond answering a ton of questions - knowledgeable, great personality, and a real sweet guy (my wife's words). Our parts expert, Maxwell, took great care of us and his deep dive into ensuring we're fully equipped to go off grid was beyond helpful and my wife said you can really tell he cares and goes that extra mile to make people feel welcome! My wife was instantly drawn to Phyllis F. in finance (AKA, the most awesome deal closer ever)! Truly a rare GEM and they need to give her gold stars and whatever she needs to keep her here for life - my wife will probably be talking about how wonderful Phyllis is until we're old and grey. They just hit it off due to similar personalities and the fact Phyllis is a solid, super caring human being that also got us a FANTASTIC out the door price to boot - go Phyllis, you're a super star! On the conclusion of our experience we met with the service tech, Brayden, that was excellent and just a super nice guy! Manager, Michelle A., went over everything in full prior to our departure and her attention to detail with a caring nature stuck out as main reasons why people want to work here and why folks keep coming back - you are not just a number here or a sale, THEY TRULY CARE about the full experience (customer-focused service and satisfaction, but most importantly hiring top-notch team members that embody qualities to work together as a team)! It's so rare in the society we live in today - NEVER lose this, as it's gold! On January 15, 2026 we purchased our first camper from General RV Center in Wixcom, MI. Just wanted to give a great big shoutout and thank you everyone for Great Service! Thank you Chris LaFleur & Bill Moss, our Salesman for helping and guiding us through the process. Teaching and showing what to do and not do. Thank you Phillis Foster who patiently walked us through the paperwork. Couldn’t have done it without her. Also, thank you to Anita & our service representative Nolan Church who made sure that our camper was road ready and added all the features we wanted. I purchased a new 2025 Fleetwood Bounder 35k in September. They charged me $3000 for a pre delivery inspection. Well I don’t believe anyone did anything. On the day of our walk through I pointed out that the floor gasket was protruding out. They said that they fixed it the next day. After putting out my slide it reappeared. I never had hot water from day one. Also my front shade was not working properly. I went six weeks without hot water. Now to fix the floor gasket the right way. I’m going to have to spend at least one night in a hotel and pay for both the hotel and meals. I reached out to General Rv , and they will not compensate me for this expense. I do not recommend anyone to do business with this company. There are honest Rv dealers out there Don’t believe there response to this review. I did reach to care department, they said nothing they can do. This company is a joke. How they are still in business is beyond my imagination.
If you a considering purchasing an RV from here, I would recommend you research your choice carefully. My experience has left me with the opinion that they are extremely deceitful or completely incompetent. I called with the question of moisture between my matress and the platform it sits on. I explained that the waterspot was in the middle of the platform no evidence that it came in from any wall. The ceiling was bone dry and no evidence of any leak, and the top of the mattress had no water staining. I was told they had never heard of that before and I would have to bring it in to have it water tested. Prior to calling them I posted the question with pictures on an RV group that I belong to. After my phone call I checked my post and had 11 responses within 10 minutes (it's currently at 132 responses). It's condensation caused from heat from above and cold from Below. It is such a common problem that I was directed to websites selling a mat that goes underneath your mattress and allows air flow between the frame and the mattress. How a company that has been in business for so many years could not know this is beyond me.
Another remarkable experience here at General RV Wixom! Drake, my service advisor took excellent care of me and kept me informed of the entire process. The winterization process went extremely smoothly and did an inspection of my vehicle and everything checked out. When I brought my vehicle in for summarization back in May of this year Caitlin and Jenna were extremely helpful in making sure that my needs were met. Working with General RV has been a wonderful experience, not only buying here but for all service and maintenance work as well.
