We compared the two vans using only Winnebago's own floor plan pages and specification tables, read on 22 October 2026. The picks and trade-offs come from published data, not test drives. The Solis Pocket comes in two floor plans, the 36A and 36B. The Solis comes in the 59P and 59PX.
Several things are the same across all four floor plans, so they do not decide the choice. Each is built on the Ram ProMaster with a 280-hp 3.6L V6 gas engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Each lists a 24-gallon fuel tank, a 20-gallon fresh water tank, a 3.0 cubic foot 12-volt compressor refrigerator/freezer, a 2-burner range top, two Group 31 AGM batteries and the same 12-month/24,000-mile basic warranty. Interior height is 6 ft 3 in and interior width is 6 ft 2 in in every one.
Where Winnebago's own pages disagreed with each other on a Solis figure, such as gray tank size, cassette toilet capacity and exterior height, we left that figure out.
The Solis Pocket is 23 inches shorter than the Solis 59P and 38 inches shorter than the 59PX. Both Pocket floor plans measure 17 ft 10 in, while the 59P measures 19 ft 9 in and the 59PX measures 21 ft.
The difference comes from the wheelbase. The Pocket rides on a 136-inch wheelbase and the Solis on a 159-inch wheelbase, also a 23-inch gap. All four share the same 6 ft 9 in exterior width. Winnebago describes the Pocket's compact design as letting you "navigate both narrow trails and urban areas with ease."
If you plan to park the van at home, in a garage or in city spaces, measure your space against these lengths before you shop. A 59PX needs about three feet more room than a Pocket.
The three layouts sleep differently: the Pocket 36A has a raised Murphy+ bed, the Pocket 36B sleeps on its dinette, and the Solis has a Murphy+ bed. Winnebago rates the 36A to sleep three and the 36B and Solis to sleep four.
The 36A has a cross-coach Murphy+ platform bed set high enough to store bicycles and other gear underneath, with L-track cargo tie-downs and a MOLLE panel. Its dinette has two facing seats that convert to a sofa or daybed and includes one 3-point seatbelt. The 36A suits one or two travelers who carry bikes or bulky gear.
The 36B gives its rear space to the bathroom, so the dinette converts to the primary bed. Winnebago lists the bed at 30 x 75 inches as a single and 53 x 75 inches as a double. The dinette includes two 3-point seatbelts. A pop-top sleeping area with a ladder is optional on the 36B.
The Solis has a Murphy+ bed, the 59P offers an optional sofa/bed, and Winnebago offers a pop-top sleeping area on both floor plans. The Solis is the only one of the three that combines a fold-down bed you do not have to build from the dinette with a wet bath. The 59PX uses its extra length for rear gear space with an L-track cargo tie-down system.
Only the Solis Pocket 36B and the Solis have a shower; the Pocket 36A has a portable toilet and no shower. Winnebago says the 36A's portable toilet is stored under the rear-facing dinette seat and lists its capacity at 3.2 gallons.
The 36B has a wet bath with a shower, a removable 5.5-gallon cassette toilet, a stainless steel sink, a medicine cabinet and a powered roof vent. The Solis has a wet bath with a shower and a swiveling cassette toilet. Winnebago's specification tables list no black tank for any of the four floor plans.
Power, heat and water systems differ most at the Pocket 36A, which has the simplest setup. Every floor plan has two AGM batteries and a 55-amp converter/charger, but power options, heating and hot water vary.
- Solar: The 36B lists a 190-watt panel, or 220 watts with its optional pop-top. The Solis lists 220 watts with the pop-top.
- Lithium and generator: The 36B offers an optional Winnebago + EcoFlow Power Kit Pro with a 5 kWh lithium battery and a 3,600-watt inverter. The Solis 59PX comes with a 2,800-watt gas generator.
- Heat and hot water: The 36A uses a Truma VarioHeat heater and lists no water heater. The 36B and the Solis use a Truma Combi Eco heating system and the Eco-Hot water system, with a 2.6-gallon water heater.
- Propane: The Pocket uses a removable, refillable 20-lb LP cylinder. The Solis has a 25-lb permanent-mount LP tank with a gauge.
- Air conditioning: Both lines list a 13,500 BTU air conditioner. On the 36B, Winnebago says it is not available with the optional pop-top.
Both lines also have Winnebago's freeze-resistant exterior water fill, which lets you top off the fresh water tank without opening the rear doors. Winnebago points owners to its winter use guidelines for cold-weather camping.
Each step up the lineup buys a specific feature, and the steps are not equal in size. These are the gaps between Winnebago's starting prices on 22 October 2026.
- Pocket 36A to Pocket 36B, $8,630 more: a wet bath with shower and cassette toilet, the Truma Combi Eco heater with hot water, a fourth berth and the option of a pop-top or lithium power.
- Pocket 36B to Solis 59P, $4,149 more: 23 more inches of length, a Murphy+ bed that is separate from the dinette, a larger permanent LP tank and a GVWR 350 lb higher.
- Solis 59P to Solis 59PX, $24,233 more: another 15 inches of length, a 2,800-watt generator, rear gear space with L-track tie-downs and a GVWR of 9,350 lb.
Winnebago calls the Solis Pocket its most affordable camper van. Its 36B floor plan page is marked "dealer stock only," so shop dealer inventory for that floor plan rather than planning a factory order.
Searchshop had far more Solis listings than Solis Pocket listings on 22 October 2026. Of 70 listings with "Solis" in the title that day, 12 also had "Pocket" in the title. Eleven of those 12 were new and one was used. Of the other 58 Solis listings, 54 were new and 4 were used.
Eight of the 12 Solis Pocket listings were 2027 models, three were 2026 and one was 2024. Listing titles do not name the floor plan, so check whether a Pocket is a 36A or a 36B before you inquire. None of the matched listings showed an advertised price that day, so this article gives no asking-price figures. These counts are listings whose title matched the model name on that date.
Choose by the bathroom you need first, then by bed and length. Use this short framework:
- Choose the Solis Pocket 36A if you travel solo or as a pair, carry bikes or bulky gear, and can live without a shower. It is the shortest and lowest-priced floor plan.
- Choose the Solis Pocket 36B if you want a shower and hot water in the shortest van and do not mind turning the dinette into a bed each night.
- Choose the Solis 59P if you want a wet bath and a Murphy+ bed that does not use the dinette, and can fit a 19 ft 9 in van.
- Choose the Solis 59PX if you want a built-in generator and a rear gear area, and have room for a 21 ft van.
Before you visit a dealer, confirm which options a specific van has, especially the pop-top, the air conditioner and any lithium power upgrade. The Solis Pocket 36B has a bathroom, and the 36A does not. Winnebago lists the 36B with a shower with wall surround, a removable 5.5-gallon cassette toilet and a stainless steel sink. The 36A has a 3.2-gallon portable toilet stored under the rear-facing dinette seat and no shower. If a shower matters to you, the 36B or the full-size Solis are the floor plans to shortlist.
The Solis Pocket is 23 inches shorter than the Solis 59P and 38 inches shorter than the Solis 59PX. Winnebago lists both Pocket floor plans at 17 ft 10 in, the 59P at 19 ft 9 in and the 59PX at 21 ft. The Pocket's wheelbase is 136 inches, against 159 inches on the Solis. All four floor plans are 6 ft 9 in wide.
The Solis Pocket sleeps three in the 36A floor plan and four in the 36B, according to Winnebago's specification table. The 36A sleeps on a raised Murphy+ bed with gear storage below and a dinette that converts to a daybed. The 36B's dinette converts to a 53 x 75 inch double bed, and a pop-top sleeping area is an option. Check how a specific van is equipped.
A Solis Pocket can tow a small trailer, and Winnebago lists the same hitch for the Pocket and the Solis. Both have a 3,500-lb drawbar with a 350-lb maximum vertical tongue weight, a trailer wiring connector and a 12,000-lb gross combined weight rating. Stay within all of these ratings and the van's GVWR, and load the van and trailer before you weigh them.
