Shopping for a vehicle at Alden Mazda in Fairhaven, Massachusetts? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Alden Mazda if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Alden Mazda if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Alden Mazda.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Alden Mazda in Fairhaven, Massachusetts puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms

I recently bought a used CX-30. The only mistake I made was not buying it at Alden. I came across a problem with it. I contacted the dealership that I purchased it on multiple occasions and they did nothing to help me. I decided to call Aldens service center and explained the issue I was having. I brought my car in and they went above and beyond in getting my issue resolved. The nicest people that I have ever dealt with. I will never purchase another car anywhere else. Peace of mind that if something goes wrong, they are there to help you.
This post is for service not for sales. Brought my brand new cx70 to get a couple things looked at while i got an oil change. A single blind spot sensor that goes off all "night" on my ride home every night all night. They checked it during the "day" they said they didn't see anything. Mind you I specifically said only at night. I can't get over into a lane at night without it beeping so i fully never know 100 percent if a car is in my blind spot. Also, mentioned i have squeaky brakes, I was told it was still in a break in period at 17k miles. But before i left i was told that my tires at 17k were going to needed to be changed next oil change. Tires worn out at 20k miles??? but my brakes are still in the break in period how exactly does that add up. Its a shame such a great sales experience, very beautiful dealership, great car minus some minor issues, yet with such simple issues they decided to just brush me off. I called Corporate Mazda to complain, they contacted the Manager and he just gave them the same excuses they gave me the first time. I gave them second chance to keep my business but I won't be back.
Wayne and Chris are some of the best car salesmen I've ever had the pleasure of working with when buying a car. Both Tasca and Mastria Mazda were unimpressive...asking me to focus on what styles, colors, and features I'd want. As a strong, independent woman who's always supported myself financially, I was really annoyed they continually ignored my questions about their final price. Instead they seemingly believed my concerns should focus on color and features...and reinititiated arguing price based on what features were best for me. When I walk into Alden, I'm treated like an intelligent, financially savvy woman. Both Chris and Wayne have treated me that way for BOTH of my new car purchases. Both cars are beautiful and my husband and I are grateful to Alden. Tony Hughes, GM of Alden, should be proud of the sales people there. In addition, Andrew in finance, makes things simple and clear. No pushy sales or financing tactics. I will continue to be a loyal client of Alden.
This one's for their parts department. Called my local dealership in Concord, NH, looking for a turn signal/hazard flasher for my 2009 Miata. This part got fried, and my turn signals don't currently work, so I needed to find this part pretty soon. My local dealer told me it could take up to 10 days for them to even ship the part, but said that Alden Mazda happened to be one of 12 dealers in the U.S. who had the part I needed. I reached out to Alden's parts department, and thankfully, the guy I talked to was really nice. Sent me a quote for the part, which was cheaper here too, and told me that he could send it out same-day, and most likely delivered by the next day. Went ahead and ordered the $70 part online. Whole day goes by, no update. Fast forward to the next day, and I reach out to check in on the status. Within 15 minutes, I get a separate email saying they put my order together, and it was ready to be shipped, which makes me think they may have forgotten about my order. Next day, now 2 days later, USPS finally picks it up. Now, my package that was supposed to show up on Tuesday, is supposed to show up the Tuesday AFTER. I know it's nit-picky, and I'm glad my wait time is still reduced, but I just feel like I was left with a false promise. I was really looking forward to having it sooner, as I've now been driving almost a week without turn signals.
I came here to test drive a Mazda 3 and a Mazda CX-5. I ended up doing a lot of research and going with a Camry, so I did not buy here. I did want to write a review because the service I received was great and the Chris Britto was such a great salesman to work with. At no point did I feel pressured or nervous like I do at most dealerships and he could answer all of my questions. I cannot say the same for the person I actually bought the car from at the Toyota dealership, but luckily I researched enough that it didn't matter. The waiting room was really nice as well. I definitely will come to this dealership in the future if I want a Mazda and I will refer anyone who wants a Mazda here!
