I brought my girlfriend to affordable cars to buy her first car and it was a pleasure. Alex is very knowledgeable easy to talk to and a straight forward man. Alex the owner was a no nonsense seller, he told me everything about the vehicle as he knew it and everything checked out. Told me exactly what he wanted for the it, which was more than a fair price, no negotiation needed and no he wouldn’t take less. He had been personally driving the vehicle I purchased and told me it needed a few things fixed of which he had his mechanic fix before I purchased it. I typically don’t like to purchase used vehicles cause of all the bad sellers, but Alex at Affordable Cars is the exception and I would gladly purchase again.
I saw a Facebook post for a 2013 Subaru outback that was in my price range and due to issues my car at the time was having I felt desperate and needed a newer car with lower miles, HOPING that getting a car with lower miles I wouldn’t have to do so much maintenance on it. Guess not. Alex’s establishment when I came did not give me good vibes whatsoever, neither did he honestly. Of course one of the first things he said was “I DOUBT you’ll have any issues”, in reference to the warranty and me probably not having to use it. In the pictures online, course you’re not gonna see how the bumper was GLUED to the headlight and screwed on, and when I asked Alex about this he claimed he knew nothing. How are you gonna buy a used car from someone knowing the bumper had damage and not ask them how that happened? & then you’re gonna sell that car to some desperate person. Terrible. So not only am I paying $238/month for this car I’ve already put over $400 of work into it by having to fix the bumper. & will MOST LIKELY need a work done to the engine that will run me THOUSANDS. He has blocked my number and when I reached out to him on another number he proceeded to tell me “oh, it’s the woman that doesn’t know that she’s talking about” and then after hanging up on him, calls me back and MOCKS ME on the phone saying, “oh, are you MADDDD?” This individual Alex is incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL and scummy! I have receipts proving I’ve been having to have this car looked at 3 times within the warranty. DO NOT BUY ANY VEHICLE FROM THIS PERSON!
I was recently in the market for a work van. I read some of the reviews on here and went and met with Alex anyway just to see. I’ve got to say I’m glad I did!! He literally went above and beyond to assist me in this process!! I got my van at an amazing price and in amazing condition with zero hassle. I highly recommend affordable if you are looking for a vehicle. Clearly none of these bad reviews came from people who actually bought a car.
After a month of becoming disillusioned with the process of buying a car through a dealer, I found Alex at Affordable Cars. He was up front and no nonsense from the beginning, supplying me with answers and supplemental photos that other dealers and private sellers tried to dodge. I’ve bought my last few vehicles through friends, so hunting down a particularly sought after used vehicle (Honda Element) and communicating from sometimes a 150 mile distance was overwhelming. I was on the wrong side of supply and demand, and I didn’t naturally trust anyone I talked to. I had to be persistent to burn through the hyperbole and vague claims - all to avoid driving hours only to find out that they were hiding key information. Astronomically inflated prices, hidden fees and glossed over rust were at the end of every inquiry, with nearly every dealer saying , “I know what I have.” The first thing that felt different with Alex was the way he priced the vehicle. It was fair. It saved energy. I didn’t feel compelled to haggle an absurd price, or to worry that some vital information was being omitted. The price made sense and made me trust that the vehicle was in the condition he said it was. He sent additional pictures right away to confirm the condition of the undercarriage. By the time we talked on the phone I knew I could finally direct my energy into moving forward with a purchase. He put my urgency at ease instead of pressuring a quick sale and talked me through the whole process. I truly felt I could count on his word before seeing the vehicle in person. His word turned out to be right on point. I had a hiccup on my end that he found a solution to in minutes and I was able to drive off with the vehicle completely satisfied. I had done enough exploring to recognize that the way he runs his business allows for the best possible process. No nonsense, trustworthy and with respect for himself and the buyer. I highly recommend contacting him and seeing for yourself.
