The two models were compared on published figures a shopper can check before visiting a dealer, not on test drives. Prices, destination charges and specifications come from Polaris's own lineup, model and specification pages, read on 26 October 2026. All new-model figures are for the 2027 model year unless a year is given.
Dealer asking prices come from new 2026 listings on Searchshop read the same day. Capacities are Polaris's ratings for the base trims; Polaris notes that California models carry lower box and payload ratings on the Ranger 1000, so check the spec sheet for your state.
The Ranger SP 570 has a new name for 2027, not a new engine. On its Ranger 600 page, Polaris says: "RANGER 600 is the same vehicle previously known as the SP 570." It adds that the vehicles are "largely unchanged, with no significant differences to engine displacement, horsepower, or performance," and that the main update tied to the new name is new graphics.
The specification sheets agree. The 2026 Ranger SP 570 and the 2027 Ranger 600 both list a 567 cc engine with 44 hp, a 56-inch width, a 500-pound box and 1,500 pounds of towing. New 2026 units on Searchshop are listed as the SP 570, so search for both names.
Listings titled "Ranger 570" can mean different vehicles. The SP 570 is the 56-inch, two-seat mid-size model described above. Polaris also built a Ranger 570 Full-Size: the 2025 version seats three, is 60 inches wide and has an 800-pound box, with the same 44 hp, 567 cc engine and 1,500 pounds of towing. Check the full model name and year on any listing before comparing prices.
The Ranger 1000 starts $2,500 higher than the Ranger 600 for 2027, or $2,550 more once each model's destination charge is added. For that difference, the base Ranger 1000 adds 17 horsepower, a third seat, twice the box capacity, 1,000 pounds more towing and 500 pounds more payload.
- Ranger 600: $11,999 plus a $1,145 destination charge, or $13,144 before set-up, taxes and fees.
- Ranger 1000: $14,499 plus a $1,195 destination charge, or $15,694 before set-up, taxes and fees.

Both use an automatic PVT transmission with high, low, neutral, reverse and park, shaft final drive, and selectable on-demand all-wheel drive with Turf Mode.
Polaris describes the Ranger 1000's engine as delivering "smooth, quiet power and outstanding low speed performance." The Ranger 1000 also weighs more, with an estimated dry weight of 1,487 pounds against 1,168 pounds. Horsepower figures are Polaris's own ratings.
The Ranger 600 is the smaller machine in every dimension Polaris lists. It measures 108 by 56 by 74 inches with a 73-inch wheelbase and a 12.6-foot turning radius. The Ranger 1000 measures 120 by 62.5 by 76 inches with an 81-inch wheelbase and a 13.3-foot turning radius.
- Width: if a trail, gate, barn door or trailer limits width, check the limit against 56 inches and 62.5 inches before you choose.
- Seats: the base Ranger 600 seats two on a flip-up bench and the Crew version seats four. The base Ranger 1000 seats three on a bench and the Crew 1000 seats six.

The Ranger 1000 carries and tows more. Its gas-assist dump box is rated at 1,000 pounds, its towing capacity is 2,500 pounds and its payload capacity is 1,500 pounds. The Ranger 600 is rated at 500 pounds in the box, 1,500 pounds of towing and 1,000 pounds of payload.

| Box capacity | 500 lb. | 1,000 lb. |
| Box size (L x W x H) | 33.3 x 48.7 x 12.3 in. | 36.75 x 54.25 x 12.5 in. |
| Towing capacity | 1,500 lb. | 2,500 lb. |
| Payload capacity | 1,000 lb. | 1,500 lb. |
Both have a standard 2-inch receiver hitch. Add up what you plan to tow and carry, including riders and tools, and compare the total with these ratings. If a regular job comes close to the Ranger 600's limits, the Ranger 1000 leaves more margin.
Dealer asking prices on Searchshop put the gap between the Premium trims of the two models at $4,000 for new 2026 units. The table shows new 2026 listings from US dealers, read on 26 October 2026. Counts are listings whose title matched the model name and trim.
| New 2026 model | Listings | Median asking price |
| Ranger SP 570 | 7 | $11,999 |
| Ranger SP 570 Premium | 6 | $14,299 |
| Ranger 1000 Premium | 15 | $18,299 |
| Ranger Crew SP 570 | 6 | $13,799 |
| Ranger Crew SP 570 Premium | 8 | $15,010 |
| Ranger Crew 1000 Premium | 21 | $20,299 |
Medians are rounded to the nearest dollar. One Arizona dealer group supplied many of these listings, including 16 of the 21 Crew 1000 Premium units, so treat the figures as a snapshot rather than a national average. Advertised prices may or may not include destination and set-up, so ask each dealer for an out-the-door price. There were too few used units of either model to report a used median.
New 2025 Ranger Crew 570 Full-Size units were also listed: 15 of them, with a median asking price of $14,799.
The Ranger XP 1000 is a different model from the Ranger 1000, and the two are easy to confuse in listings. Polaris says both are 1000 cc full-size utility side-by-sides with a 1,000-pound box and 2,500 pounds of towing, but the XP 1000 "has a dual overhead cam (DOHC) engine that delivers 82 horsepower," against 61 hp for the Ranger 1000.
The 2027 Ranger XP 1000 starts at $21,799, which is $7,300 more than the Ranger 1000. Polaris says the XP 1000 also has more ground clearance, premium seating and more suspension travel. If you are comparing the 570 with a "1000," check whether the listing is for the Ranger 1000 or the Ranger XP 1000.
Choose by the seats, width and loads you need most often, then compare out-the-door prices on real units.
- Choose the Ranger 600 (SP 570) if you need two or four seats, a 56-inch width, and loads within 500 pounds in the box and 1,500 pounds of towing. It is the lower-priced of these two.
- Choose the Ranger 1000 if you need three or six seats, a 1,000-pound box, up to 2,500 pounds of towing or more payload, and the extra 6.5 inches of width will fit where you drive and store it.
- Look at the Ranger XP 1000 if you want more than 61 hp in a full-size Ranger and the higher price fits your budget.
- Look at the cab versions if you work through winter: the Ranger 600 NorthStar and Ranger 1000 CAB both have enclosed heated cabs.
