Starting prices are the manufacturers' published starting MSRPs, read on 15 October 2026, for the vehicle without a plow. Polaris adds a destination charge of $1,595 to $2,145 on these models, and Can-Am says transport and preparation are not included. All prices exclude taxes and dealer fees. Box figures are 49-state figures; Polaris and Can-Am list 600 lb for California versions of several models.

These picks come from published manufacturer data, not test drives or plowing trials. Every model in the table is sold with a factory-installed enclosed cab with heat, and each brand sells a plow system for its machines.
Every price, cab feature and specification was read from the manufacturer's own website on 15 October 2026. The comparison uses what a buyer can check before visiting a dealer: what the cab heats and cools, whether a winch comes standard, towing and box capacity, vehicle width, and the plow blades, lift systems and prices each brand lists.
Polaris and Can-Am publish model years on their pages; Kubota and John Deere do not show one on the pages read, so none is given for them. Searchshop dealer asking prices for the same models appear further down.
Polaris's heated-cab Rangers for 2027 run from the compact Ranger 600 NorthStar to the Ranger XD 1500 NorthStar, and four of the five lines listed here include a winch to lift a plow. Polaris says some Ranger models include a plow mount and lift method, and that a winch may be required on those that do not.
- Ranger 600 NorthStar (2027): starts at $19,999 plus a $1,595 destination charge. Polaris lists a 44 hp engine, a 58-inch width, an enclosed cab with manual crank window doors, factory-installed heat, a 3,500 lb winch, 1,500 lb towing and a 500 lb box. Polaris describes it as built for "working, plowing, hunting and riding in colder weather."
- Ranger 1000 CAB (2027): starts at $21,999 plus $1,595 destination, with a 61 hp engine, factory-installed heat and defrost, a 4,500 lb winch with synthetic rope, 2,500 lb towing, a 1,000 lb box and a 65-inch width.
- Ranger XP 1000 CAB (2027): starts at $24,499 plus $1,595 destination and adds factory heat, air conditioning and defrost with an 82 hp engine. Polaris lists the winch as "Not equipped, accessory options available," so budget for one if you plan to lift a plow by winch.
- Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar (2027): the Premium trim starts at $29,999 plus $1,595 destination. Polaris lists factory heat, AC and defrost, an enclosed cab with a full-glass tip-out windshield and powered front windows, an 82 hp engine, a 4,500 lb winch with wireless remote, 2,500 lb towing and a 1,000 lb box. The six-seat Ranger Crew XP 1000 NorthStar Ultimate has the same heat, AC and defrost, and its 7-inch RIDE COMMAND display "Includes Plow-Mode when properly equipped."
- Ranger XD 1500 NorthStar (2027): the Premium trim starts at $41,499 plus $2,145 destination. Polaris lists a 110 hp 1500 cc engine, factory-installed heating and air conditioning, a 6,000 lb winch, 3,500 lb towing and a 1,500 lb box. The Ultimate trim adds defrost, heated seats and a RIDE COMMAND display with Plow-Mode.
For how the base Rangers compare with the Defender trim by trim, see Polaris Ranger vs Can-Am Defender.
Can-Am offers a fully sealed CAB version of both Defender generations for 2027, starting at $21,499, and the newer HD10/HD11 CAB models come with a 4,500 lb winch. The older-platform DPS CAB models list the winch as "N/A," so a buyer who wants winch lift adds one.
- Defender DPS CAB HD9 (2027): starts at $21,499 with a 65 hp V-twin. Can-Am lists heating and ventilation and a "fully sealed cab with locking doors and clear windows," with a full glass tilt-up windshield, wiper and washer, and electric windows. Towing is 2,500 lb, the box is 1,000 lb and the width is 62 inches.
- Defender DPS CAB HD10 (2027): starts at $24,399 with an 82 hp V-twin and adds a heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC) system, which Can-Am calls "The most affordable CAB HVAC in the industry." Towing, box and width match the HD9.
- Defender XT CAB HD10 (2027): starts at $27,499 on the newer platform, with an 80 hp three-cylinder engine, HVAC, power windows, a 4,500 lb winch with autostop, 2,500 lb towing, a 1,000 lb box and a 65-inch width. Can-Am says the newer platform's optional HVAC system has "fast defrost."
- Defender Limited HD11 (2027): starts at $36,199 with a 95 hp engine, HVAC, a tinted rear glass window, a full hard roof and the same 4,500 lb winch, towing and box figures.
Six-seat versions are also sold: the Defender MAX DPS CAB HD10 starts at $27,699 and the Defender MAX Limited at $39,399. Can-Am lists a 700 lb box for the newer-platform MAX CAB models, against 1,000 lb for the three-seat versions.
Kubota and John Deere both build utility vehicles with a factory climate-controlled cab, and both sell front blades with hydraulic lift through their dealers. Neither page read shows a model year.
The Kubota RTV-X CAB has an "MSRP as low as $30,899" and a 23.3 hp, three-cylinder Kubota diesel. Kubota says the cab is factory-installed with heat and AC, and "you can count on the defrosters to keep a clear view on the path ahead." It tows up to 1,300 lb from a 2-inch receiver at the front or back and carries 1,102 lb in the cargo box. Kubota's launch announcement says a hydraulic dump bed is standard on all grades.
John Deere's Gator XUV 845M HVAC Cab has an enclosed cab with a climate control system, room for three, and a 53 hp, 812 cc three-cylinder gas engine. Deere lists 4,000 lb towing and a 1,000 lb cargo box. The page shows no price, so ask a Deere dealer for a quote.
Honda and Kawasaki both sell plow parts for their utility side-by-sides, while Honda lists its sealed-cab Pioneer 1000 Elite as coming in late 2026 and Kawasaki sells cab heat as an accessory kit.
- Honda Pioneer 1000 Elite: Honda lists it as "Coming late 2026," with the base MSRP shown as "TBD." Honda says it "comes with a fully sealed cab, complete with heating, air conditioning, windshield wipers, and more," and that the cabbed Elite is currently a three-seater. Honda says current Pioneer 1000 models tow up to 2,500 lb.
- Honda plow for the Pioneer 1000: Honda's installation sheet for its plow blade and plow push tube, for Pioneer 1000 models (SXS1000M3, M5 and M6), uses the vehicle's winch to raise the plow system during setup.
- Kawasaki Mule PRO-FXT 1000 LE (2027): base MSRP $18,899 plus a $1,320 destination charge, with 2,000 lb towing. Kawasaki sells a 72-inch plow blade of 12-gauge steel for the Mule PRO series at $738.96 MSRP; the push frame and plow mount are required and sold separately.
- Kawasaki cab heat: a heater kit ($899.95 MSRP) uses engine heat to warm the cab, and Kawasaki says it can be used alone or with its Hard Cab Enclosure.
For a closer look at these two brands against the Ranger, see Honda Pioneer vs Polaris Ranger and Kawasaki Mule vs Polaris Ranger.
Each brand sells a plow as separate parts: a mount, a push frame, a blade and a way to lift it, either the vehicle's winch or a hydraulic or electric lift. The table shows what each maker lists on the pages read.
| Brand | Blades listed | Lift methods listed |
| Polaris Pro Series | 66 in. poly, 72 in. poly, 72 in. steel | Winch, or hydraulic lift system |
| Can-Am ProMount | 54 to 72 in. steel, 60 to 72 in. Flex2 poly, 72 and 80 in. FISHER blades | Plow Angling System; Hydraulic Super Duty Plow Kit |
| Kubota | 72 and 78 in. straight and V-blades | Electric lift, or hydraulic lift with down pressure and float |
| John Deere | 5.5 and 6 ft Western straight blades, 6 ft Western V-blade | Hydraulic or winch lift |
Polaris lists its 72-inch steel Pro Series blade at $524.99 and its RANGER Pro Series Plow System at $1,104.97. The hydraulic lift system ($574.99) raises the plow from inside the cab, but Polaris says it is not compatible with Plow Mode in RIDE COMMAND.
Can-Am's plow shop lists the ProMount steel 72-inch blade at $659.99, the Defender FISHER Heavy Duty 72-inch blade at $1,499.99 and the Defender Hydraulic Super Duty Plow Kit at $1,949.99. Can-Am says to "Combine Mounting Kit + Push frame + Plow," so the blade price is not the full kit price. Kubota and John Deere do not show attachment prices on the pages read.
Choose a blade that still covers your machine's width when angled, because angling a blade shortens the path it clears. The manufacturers' own figures show how much.
- Kubota says its 72-inch general-purpose blade clears 64.5 inches at a 30-degree angle, its 72-inch commercial blade 62.4 inches, and its 78-inch blade 68 inches, which "covers the width of the RTV-X."
- Can-Am says its 60-inch ProMount steel blade "Clears 54" (137 cm) when plow is fully angled."
- The machines above are 58 inches wide (Ranger 600 NorthStar), 62 inches (Defender DPS CAB HD9 and HD10) or 65 inches (Ranger 1000 CAB, Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar and newer Defender CAB models).
On those figures, a 60-inch blade angled fully leaves a path narrower than any machine in this guide, while a 72-inch blade at 30 degrees clears about the width of a 62- to 65-inch machine. Confirm the angled clearing width for the exact blade you are quoted.
Dealers on Searchshop were asking a median of $24,296 to $45,999 for new heated-cab Rangers and Defenders on 15 October 2026, depending on the model. The table shows models with at least five new listings from US dealers.
| Model | Model year | New listings | Median asking price |
| Polaris Ranger XP 1000 CAB | 2027 | 6 | $24,499 |
| Polaris Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar (3-seat) | 2026 | 10 | $30,699 |
| Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 NorthStar | 2026 | 6 | $36,499 |
| Polaris Ranger XD 1500 NorthStar (3-seat) | 2025 and 2026 | 5 | $45,999 |
| Can-Am Defender MAX DPS CAB | 2026 | 5 | $24,296 |
| Can-Am Defender MAX XT CAB | 2026 | 8 | $33,849 |
| Can-Am Defender MAX Lone Star CAB | 2026 | 9 | $39,699 |
Counts are new listings from US dealers whose title matched the model name, read from Searchshop's listing feed on 15 October 2026, with trims of the same model combined. Several models were listed by only one or two dealers, so treat these as a snapshot of asking prices, not market averages. Most listings are 2026 models, so compare them with the dealer's price on the 2027 version before you buy.
Start with how much you will plow and how cold it gets, then pick the cab and lift method to match.
- Lowest-priced heated cab: the Polaris Ranger 600 NorthStar ($19,999) includes heat and a winch, but it is the narrowest and lightest-duty machine here, with a 500 lb box.
- Full-size machine with heat and a winch on a budget: the Polaris Ranger 1000 CAB ($21,999). The Can-Am Defender DPS CAB HD9 ($21,499) costs a little less but has no standard winch.
- Heat and air conditioning for year-round use: the Can-Am Defender DPS CAB HD10 ($24,399) or Polaris Ranger XP 1000 CAB ($24,499), adding a winch or hydraulic lift for the plow. The Defender XT CAB ($27,499) and Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar ($29,999) include a winch.
- Heavy commercial plowing: the Polaris Ranger XD 1500 NorthStar (3,500 lb towing, 1,500 lb box, 6,000 lb winch) or a Kubota RTV-X CAB with a hydraulic blade.
- Already own a Honda or Kawasaki: both sell plow parts, Honda's plow instructions use the Pioneer's winch, and Kawasaki sells a heater kit. Honda's sealed-cab Pioneer 1000 Elite is due in late 2026.
Before you buy, price the full plow kit (mount, push frame, blade and lift), not just the vehicle. For more on choosing a utility side-by-side, read the Side-by-side UTV buyer's guide and Best 4-seat side-by-sides if you need room for a crew.
When you have a shortlist, see side-by-sides for sale on Searchshop and ask each dealer for an out-the-door price with the plow kit installed.
New side-by-sides with a factory heated cab start at $19,999 for the 2027 Polaris Ranger 600 NorthStar and $21,499 for the 2027 Can-Am Defender DPS CAB HD9. Models with heat and air conditioning start at $24,399, and the Polaris Ranger XD 1500 NorthStar starts at $41,499. These are starting MSRPs before destination charges, taxes, dealer fees and the plow kit.
You need a winch or a powered lift to raise the plow. Polaris says a winch may be required if the vehicle does not come with a lift method, and Honda's Pioneer plow instructions use the vehicle's winch. Polaris, Can-Am, Kubota and John Deere also list hydraulic lift or hydraulic plow options, and Kubota lists an electric-lift blade.
UTV makers list blades from 54 to 80 inches wide, and Polaris, Can-Am, Kubota, John Deere and Kawasaki all offer a 72-inch blade. Pick a width that still covers your vehicle when angled: Kubota says its 72-inch blades clear 62.4 to 64.5 inches at 30 degrees, close to the 62- to 65-inch width of most machines here.
