Buying an RV is a big decision. Use this guide to shop Ketelsen Rv, Inc.'s inventory with confidence.
Set your budget first
RV prices range from under $10,000 for used travel trailers to $300,000+ for Class A diesel pushers. Know your number before you browse. Use SearchShop's payment estimator on any Ketelsen Rv, Inc. listing to model monthly costs.
Pick the right RV type
Travel trailers and fifth wheels need a capable tow vehicle. Class B and C motorhomes offer an easier entry point. Class A motorhomes give the most space. Ask the team at Ketelsen Rv, Inc. which type fits your camping style.
Inspect these on every unit
Check the roof for cracks or soft spots (signs of water damage). Open every slideout and look for seal wear. Run all appliances. Test the generator, AC, and water heater. Check the underbelly for rust or damage.
Know the weight ratings
Every RV has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Overloading causes tire blowouts and frame damage. Compare the GVWR against your intended load before committing.
Review service records
Ask Ketelsen Rv, Inc. for any available service history. Regular maintenance records — oil changes, roof resealing, slide service — signal a well-cared-for unit.
RV loans are specialized. Knowing the basics helps you get the best deal when financing through Ketelsen Rv, Inc. in Hiawatha, Iowa.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years is typical for larger RVs. Shorter-term loans save on total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% is typical. A larger down payment reduces monthly costs and total interest paid.

always a good experience when I take my camper to get serviced at Ketelsen. My wife and I just started this hobby this year, and we have really enjoyed it so far. Ketelsen is conveniently located and their service prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone who wants an honest dealership that won't try to push garbage on you that you can't handle. Sales staff is always really nice, and service advisors explain things really well.
Kettelson's RV is top notch in Hiawatha. They've more than delivered they over delivered. Adam was awesome to work with and so was Brandon. I've never had a better experience. They were awesome to work with and they never gave up on me and they found exactly what I was looking for. I have nothing bad to say about kettelson's RV in Hiawatha, Iowa
Ketelsen's had an amazing Halloween event for the kids. The place was decked out with all types and decor. They also had a very large selection of RV's that you could walk through and check out. Great prices and super awesome setups on many options of RV's
Just purchased our camper from kettleson. our salesman sam cayler worked with us finding the camper we wanted in the price range we wanted with the options we wanted. Absolutely low key no pressure salesman very informative on the products and made the sales process enjoyable as did all the other staff that worked with us. and with kettleson's multiple locations in iowa if they dont have what you want at the location your at chances are they have it at another one of their locations and can bring it to you . They have the large chain dealership options with the small family local dealership feel. Sam even came in on his day off to finish up everything because that worked best for us. This was a previously owned trailer and needed a couple things. we put hand rails and vent covers on along with normal final inspection stuff and their service team handled it why we did the paperwork and a very through walk thru to show us how to operate everything. Sam and the kettleson team definitely made buying a camper enjoyable and easy .
We barely have 400 miles on our camper as we travel to local campsites. This year the first time out our tire exploded and then when we got to the campsite we noticed the other was gradually flattening. I called in and was told unfortunately since I got my camper brand new from them 2 years ago and it’s a 2018 camper this is normal even though the tires are not worn. I would’ve assumed if I was buying a brand new camper from them that I wouldn’t have to worry about new tires after 2 years. I even asked about a tire warranty and they said they doubt it without even checking. There are no cracks on the tire sides indicating dry rot or any other concerns. Very disappointed.
