I would like to give a special shot out to OLAF, Shane, and Kevin for the awesome customer service they provided me down at General RV in Salisbury NC. These guys went above and beyond to assure that my unit was clean, safe and in working order before I left. The experience there was amazing, everyone was nice and friendly. I would recommend anyone that is in the market for a new or used RV/ camper check these guys out first. I really appreciate all you done. I rate you all a 10 out of 10. Keep up the good work. May God continue to bless you in all you do.
I scheduled and dropped off my Winnebago Ekko 23B for an oil change and service. I was advised that that meant top off all fluids and grease all fittings. I picked up the unit and before I left for a trip the DEF lamp came on. I thought it was strange as it should have been filled. I opened the hood and to my amazement my oil fill cap was not secured, the small reservoir was full of oil, who ever added the oil dripped it all over the motor and electronic panel. Not only that they left the oil bottle caps under the hood. Curious I went up under the chassis and there was no fresh grease on any fittings. I called and left several messages and never received a call back. I called again and was finally able to talk with my service advisor who gave me the we are sorry line and we will take care of it. With this service department negligence you would figure the supervisor would have called, guess he must be fielding other calls or complaints. So here I sit, I called and left three messages over a four day period to get my unit back in so they can try and make it right. Still no call back. Maybe I have to get an attorney involved as I paid for a service that was not rendered. So the moral to the story, before paying the $418.00, check under the hood. I am sure if you read their reviews I will get the standard company reply that they are sorry. I don't want to hear that, I want what I paid for and all the oil cast off oil cleaned up.
Had a great experience with Jacqui! She was very informative and communicative and had a great personality. Would definitely come back and do a sale with her! Highly recommend
We had a great experience with General RV Center. I have read mixed reviews. Most are great but some seem to blame this dealership for manufacturer and warranty issues. That's really not their fault. To that end we purchased a 2026 Open Range 26DB Colt from General RV Center in Salisbury, NC and can only give them an excellent review. The folks at General RV have been extremely good to work with. Scottie, Cameron, Aaron, Iman, Zack, Veronica, Lisa, and Chris. My suggestion for RV buyers. 1) This is a great family owned business and they were great to work with. 2) Do your research when buying an RV. There will be problems no matter what you buy. So know the brand and common issues. The dealers literally tell you this. Everyone tells you this. You simply will have to work the bugs out. Hopefully there are only a few bugs. 3) Get the extended warranty. Why, because labor is expensive, parts are expensive and you have just 1 out of thousands of RVs that will need service work and repair eventually. RV's bounce down the high ways. Its like shaking your stick built house everytime you move. Its going have problems. Warranty is like Insurance. So get it. At the same time Pray that you don’t need it. Kind of like Insurance. A warranty covers the issues as you work the bugs out. 4) Before you sign and take out of the stores gate. Do a thorough walk through. Test everything. We spent 7 hours with General RV and made sure everything was working before accepting delivery. If you see issues or problems. Do not take delivery until those are fixed properly. We had 2 minor issues that had to be corrected before taking possession. Chris and their staff did a great job. Did we have to wait... sure but guess what. They fixed the issue while we went for a bite to eat. It had nothing to do with General RV. Simple manufacturer issue. Regardless, Remember folks these are houses on wheels. They bounced down the road from the manufacturer to the sales lot. Things happen. The main point is if you know and the dealer knows... They can fix it. It's really no different than say a new construction home. There will be things that need to be fixed. Expect it and be nice. They want you to have a great experience and a great RV. Getting angry helps nothing and no one. Truth bomb... no one wants to have any problems or issues. But things happen. 5) Have patience. You're taking delivery of a rolling home. When you do your Pre-delivery Inspection (PDI) the staff are seeing an issue or concerns in real time with you often at the same time as you see it. So, It might be a quick fix or it might take a few hours. Regardless, they will make it right. If you just take the RV and go that's on you. These folks are here to help you so make it a team experience. Thank them for the service and build this new relationship starting out on a solid foundation. If a component breaks and it's out of warranty it will fall directly back on you. Same as any other industry. My wife and I always simply focus on having a positive attitude and have fun along the way. Life is short... enjoy the journey. . In conclusion: General RV Center did an awesome job addressing our concerns and making sure we were good to go with our new RV. Be honest, communicate, and let people know what you need, what you want and what you will accept. Have a great day. I highly recommend General RV Center in Salisbury, NC.
We purchased our first camper from General RV in 2025 and had a great experience from sales to service. We’ve been casually looking again to trade in and we’re helped by Kelly. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our wants, needs, and budget. Kelly also had extreme patience; we have small kids so trailer shopping can be a lot with them in tow! We will continue to use General RV for our travel needs and hope to work with Kelly again!
