We recently rented an RV from El Monte RV, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and confident about our trip. Irfaan, Kelly, Lesvia, and Mike were incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They took the time to walk us through every feature of the RV, answered all our questions, and ensured we felt completely comfortable before hitting the road. The RV itself was in excellent condition both inside and out. The exterior was spotless, well-maintained, and clearly cared for with attention to detail. Inside, the RV was just as impressive—clean, fresh, and thoughtfully arranged. All appliances, fixtures, and amenities were in perfect working order, and the interior felt both modern and cozy, making our journey smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. I was a bit nervous about the rental. However we picked up in Dallas and dropped off in New york. Both branches were easy to deal with and all went well. Staff were all very pleasant and happy to answer questions and give advice. The RV was nearly new and all ran like clockwork during our 2500 miles. Happy customer. Steve Australia
EL Monte RV reached out after seeing my review and provided a goodwill partial refund as compensation for the troubles we encountered. This company stood by us as a customer to make up for a miss. ORIGINAL POST We had a series of issues with our El Monte RV rental over the course of a two week trip to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. The water heater failed on the 5th day of the trip, leaving us without water due to major leaking. We were fortunate to have brought a 5 gallon water container with us for the sink and toilet. The toilet started leaking at the floor seal on day 6, so we relied on bathrooms at gas stops and overnight parks. The waste drain failed on day 10 after two previous non-eventful clearing of both black and grey water tanks. The issues with the water heater and the toilet were called into roadside assistance on day 6 and we made an appointment for the next week at the home lot in Santa Fe Springs CA. We were visiting family in Santa Ana and planned to stop at the lot for repairs on our way back to Texas. Water heater was replaced at no charge due to failure (broke apart). The toilet issue was reported as fixed and we were provided with a deodorant pack for the strong smell wafting through the unit. Water leak returned after we left the lot so we stopped using the toilet all together. Put down sanitizing wipes with paper towels and hung deodorizers around to mask the odors. The smoke detector came loose while we were driving at hit my wife on the shoulder. Fortunately she was not injured. All of this was reported on check in back at El Monte in Dallas to the manager. Not a high degree of concern for the unit failures and issues on a $3000 rental. He did not charge us for miles we drove over the mileage we purchased in advance as compensation for the trouble. No real offer for more than that for systems that didn’t work for more than half of our two week trip. He did note that the unit we rented was due to be retired. Maybe they should not have rented that one to the customer going on a 3100 mile trip. Word to the wise- double check everything before signing the contract. El Monte states that their units are winterized in November. I asked about this twice with the dealer in Texas and was told that they don’t winterize. I was also asked by the dealer in California and told them that the Texas dealer did not winterize. Not sure what effect winterizing the unit had to do with the issues we had- but ask more questions!
