Went to buy an RV we saw online. Showed up at 530pm on Monday after driving through traffic for 45 min only to find the gate locked and the phone line unresponsive.
I went to the mantra and with the exact RV in mind. I literally walked in, looked at three RVs and picked the one we wanted. I was going to pay cash but decided to do 50-50 loan. I was told to bring in proof of income the day I was picking it up. That seemed odd as I figured they would need to do some sort of preapproval. Nonetheless I was told to come in at one on Friday I would sign the paperwork do a walk-through and I would be able to leave by 3 PM on Friday. I show up with proof of income to the financing agent at the dealership next door. I had to wait for about 45 minutes, not sure why. Instead of wanting my W-2s 1099s and K-1's, they wanted a paper pay stub, which I didn't have. He says that they didn't even know I was coming in for the financing until that day. They offered me 17% APR. No thanks. I then have to leave the dealership as I decide to just pay cash go back to my bank get a second cashier's check for the remaining 50%. And in return spend another 30 minutes with the finance agent, then head back to do the walk-through. I spent about an hour and a half going through everything the technician doing walk-through was very helpful and kind. As I am ready to pull out with my kids in the car he then told me that I needed to add an electronic brake. I said if it's necessary let's do it, they told me that they don't have to park at least another 15 minutes before the party even rights. The part arrived 20 minutes later they told me to take around five minutes to install it ended up taking around 30. I finally drive off into the sunset at around 5-530. I arrive at our initial camping site well after sunset which further complicates a brand-new RV. I try as best I can to set the RV up as I was shown. I need it we noticed that the refrigerators are not cooling. Overnight temperatures reach 38° I have three small children with me the furnace would not kick on or stay on for more than a few minutes at a time. I stay up all night trying to figure out why the RV will not warm. Just before sunrise I finally decide to risk waking up the children by going outside and making noise assuming perhaps the propane tanks were not filled. As I am almost ready to disconnect the text into town to be filled I noticed it while they were applying the $800 sway hitch, they clamped off the gas line.
I have not been a fan of the DeMontrond dealerships but when the TT came up that I wanted in Conroe I figured I would give them a try. Boy was I suprized. Everyone from the general mgr to the delivery day staff was wonderful. The deal was fair and the customer service great. The whole experience was stress free. I would recommend calling Jason if you are in the market for a RV.
