Keystone's 2027 Cougar lineup has 28 floor plans in four lines: nine Half-Ton travel trailers, three Cougar Sport fifth wheels, six Half-Ton fifth wheels and ten premium Cougar fifth wheels. A fifth line, Western Elevation, is listed separately. Shipping weights run from 6,090 pounds for the 21LBK travel trailer to 12,499 pounds for the 360MBI fifth wheel.
At a glance
- The eight Cougar Half-Ton travel trailers with published specs run from 25 ft 11 in to 33 ft 10 in long, with shipping weights of 6,090 to 8,465 pounds and hitch weights of 700 to 1,060 pounds.
- The Cougar Sport and Half-Ton fifth wheels with published weights list 7,040 to 9,590 pounds shipping weight and 1,265 to 1,890 pounds hitch weight.
- The premium Cougar fifth wheels list 9,674 to 12,499 pounds shipping weight, 1,775 to 2,331 pounds hitch weight and lengths up to 39 ft 3 in.
- Keystone's listed carrying capacity ranges from 1,395 pounds on the 25FKD travel trailer to 3,350 pounds on the 295RDS fifth wheel.
- Keystone also lists a separate Cougar Western Elevation travel trailer line with nine floor plans, several of which had no published weights when this guide was written.
Every figure in this guide comes from Keystone RV's own website, read on 21 October 2026: the Cougar build page, the floor plan index for each Cougar line and the individual floor plan pages. Keystone's index pages label the Half-Ton travel trailer, Cougar Sport, Half-Ton fifth wheel and premium fifth wheel plans as 2027 floor plans. No trailer was inspected or towed for this guide.
The guide compares what a shopper can check before visiting a dealer: sleeping capacity, length, height, listed shipping weight, hitch weight, carrying capacity and tank sizes. Keystone's floor plan pages did not show prices, so none are quoted here. Keystone notes on each floor plan page that its "website data typically reflects the most recent production run" and that features and specifications may change, so check the labels on the actual trailer before you buy.
Cougar is a family of five lines, two of travel trailers and three of fifth wheels, and the lines differ most in weight and height.
| Cougar line | Type | Floor plans listed | Listed shipping weight |
| Cougar Half-Ton | Travel trailer | 9 (2027) | 6,090 to 8,465 lb |
| Cougar Western Elevation | Travel trailer | 9 | 6,460 to 8,460 lb |
| Cougar Sport | Fifth wheel | 3 (2027) | 7,040 to 7,800 lb |
| Cougar Half-Ton | Fifth wheel | 6 (2027) | 7,864 to 9,590 lb |
| Cougar (premium) | Fifth wheel | 10 (2027) | 9,674 to 12,499 lb |
Weight ranges cover only the plans for which Keystone lists a weight. Keystone lists the Half-Ton travel trailers at 11 ft 5 in tall, the Cougar Sport and Half-Ton fifth wheels at 12 ft 0 in to 12 ft 8 in, and the premium fifth wheels at 13 ft 4 in to 13 ft 5 in. Keystone says Half-Ton travel trailers are "towable by most of today's half-ton trucks", but the weights in the tables below are what decide whether your truck can tow a given plan.

The nine 2027 Cougar Half-Ton travel trailers sleep four to ten people and include rear-bath, mid-living, front-kitchen, rear-kitchen, rear-living and bunkhouse layouts.

The ninth plan, the new 29RDS, sleeps four, and Keystone had not yet listed its length or weight. Keystone marks the 21LBK, 29RDS, 29RKE and 29RLP as new floor plans.
Keystone's own one-line descriptions show how the layouts differ:
- 21LBK and 26LBW: "Rear Bath with Scenic Kitchen Window", in a shorter and a longer version.
- 22MLS: "Spacious Mid-Living, King Bed".
- 25MLE: "Spacious Mid-Living, King Bed, Outside Kitchen Prep".
- 25FKD: "Front Kitchen, Hidden Pantry, Bed Slide".
- 28BHS: "Double Bunk, Hidden Pantry, Rear Cargo Storage". It is the only Half-Ton travel trailer rated to sleep ten.
- 29RKE: "Rear Kitchen with Center Living room and Private master bedroom".
- 29RLP: "Rear Living Room, w/ Large Utility Pantry".
- 29RDS: "L-Sofa with recliners, Mid kitchen with abundant countertop space".
Hitch weights on the Half-Ton travel trailers run from 700 pounds on the 22MLS to 1,060 pounds on the 29RLP.
| 2027 floor plan | Hitch weight | Carrying capacity | Gray tank |
| 21LBK | 760 lb | 1,910 lb | 80 gal |
| 22MLS | 700 lb | 1,565 lb | 40 gal |
| 25MLE | 845 lb | 2,675 lb | 80 gal |
| 26LBW | 920 lb | 2,400 lb | 80 gal |
| 25FKD | 970 lb | 1,395 lb | 80 gal |
| 28BHS | 965 lb | 2,195 lb | 80 gal |
| 29RKE | 925 lb | 2,740 lb | 80 gal |
| 29RLP | 1,060 lb | 2,785 lb | 80 gal |
All eight list a 54-gallon fresh water tank and a 40-gallon black tank. The 25FKD has the least carrying capacity of any Cougar in this guide at 1,395 pounds, even though it is mid-sized, while the 29RLP and 29RKE list nearly twice that, at 2,785 and 2,740 pounds.
Keystone describes Cougar Sport as a "smaller, lighter package" and the Cougar Half-Ton fifth wheels as "shorter, lighterweight floorplans", and the two lines have nine 2027 floor plans between them that sleep four to ten.
| 2027 floor plan | Sleeps | Length | Shipping weight |
| Sport 2100ML | 4 | 25 ft 11 in | 7,040 lb |
| Sport 2700BH | 10 | 31 ft 11 in | 7,800 lb |
| Half-Ton 23MLE | 6 | 27 ft 11 in | 7,864 lb |
| Half-Ton 26RES | 4 | 30 ft 11 in | 8,240 lb |
| Half-Ton 26RKE | 6 | 30 ft 10 in | 9,062 lb |
| Half-Ton 28RLI | 6 | 32 ft 8 in | 9,179 lb |
| Half-Ton 29MBD | 10 | 33 ft 11 in | 9,325 lb |
| Half-Ton 30REP | 4 | 34 ft 11 in | 9,590 lb |
The third Sport plan, the new 3100BH, is 35 ft 11 in long and sleeps eight; Keystone had not yet listed its weights. All three Sport plans and the Half-Ton 30REP are marked as new floor plans.
- Sport 2100ML: mid living room, bar dining and a king bed. Hitch weight 1,265 lb, carrying capacity 2,910 lb.
- Sport 2700BH: king bed and a "Private Bunk Room w/ Triple Bunks". Hitch weight 1,435 lb, carrying capacity 2,100 lb.
- Sport 3100BH: "Master King, U-dinette and private bunkroom with loft", with a 60-gallon black tank.
- Half-Ton 23MLE: "Short, Mid-living, Outdoor Kitchen". Hitch weight 1,275 lb, carrying capacity 2,211 lb.
- Half-Ton 26RES: "Rear L-shape Sectional, best campside view". Hitch weight 1,540 lb, carrying capacity 2,060 lb.
- Half-Ton 26RKE: "Wide open mid living, outdoor entertainment". Hitch weight 1,715 lb, carrying capacity 1,938 lb.
- Half-Ton 28RLI: "Rear Living, King Bed, Gourmet Kitchen". Hitch weight 1,435 lb, carrying capacity 1,821 lb.

- Half-Ton 30REP: "Rear Living, Electric Side Patio". Hitch weight 1,890 lb, carrying capacity 2,410 lb.
Every Sport and Half-Ton fifth wheel lists a 54-gallon fresh tank and a 60-gallon gray tank, and all but the 3100BH list a 30-gallon black tank. Their hitch weights are well above those of the Half-Ton travel trailers, which matters for a half-ton truck's payload.
The ten 2027 premium Cougar fifth wheels are the heaviest Cougar line, from 30 ft 11 in to 39 ft 3 in long, and they sleep four to ten.
| 2027 floor plan | Sleeps | Length | Shipping weight |
| 260MLE | 4 | 30 ft 11 in | 9,674 lb |

| 320RDS | 6 | 36 ft 10 in | 11,283 lb |
| 364BHL | 10 | 39 ft 0 in | 11,669 lb |
| 355FBS | 6 | 39 ft 3 in | 11,802 lb |
| 350LLK | 4 | 39 ft 3 in | 12,040 lb |

The tenth plan, the new 365DBR, is described by Keystone as "2 Private Bedrooms with 2 Private Bathrooms" and sleeps six; its length and weight were not yet listed. Keystone also marks the 295RDS and 350LLK as new.
Hitch weights on the premium fifth wheels run from 1,775 pounds on the 320RDS to 2,331 pounds on the 364BHL.
| 2027 floor plan | Hitch weight | Carrying capacity | Keystone's description |
| 260MLE | 1,895 lb | 2,326 lb | Mid living, king bed, outside kitchen |
| 290RLS | 2,060 lb | 2,333 lb | Rear living, washer/dryer prep, three slides |
| 295RDS | 2,010 lb | 3,350 lb | Rear living, L-sofa with recliners |
| 316RLS | 2,120 lb | 1,790 lb | Rear living, oversized bath, king bed |
| 320RDS | 1,775 lb | 2,467 lb | Rear den with L-shaped sofa |

Every premium fifth wheel with published specs lists a 75-gallon fresh tank and a 76-gallon gray tank. The 355FBS and 364BHL list 76-gallon black tanks; the rest list 38 gallons. The 316RLS has the lowest carrying capacity in this line at 1,790 pounds, so check it carefully if you travel heavy.
Cougar Western Elevation is a newer Cougar travel trailer line that Keystone describes as built for "off-road freedom", with nine floor plans on its build page.
Keystone lists weights and lengths for six of them: the 22RKWE (6,460 lb, 26 ft 11 in, sleeps 6), 25FKWE (6,915 lb, 30 ft 0 in, sleeps 6), 25MLWE (7,370 lb, 29 ft 11 in, sleeps 6), 26LBWE (7,650 lb, 30 ft 10 in, sleeps 6), 28BHWE (7,800 lb, 32 ft 11 in, sleeps 10) and 29RLWE (8,460 lb, 33 ft 9 in, sleeps 6). The 21LBWE, 22MLWE and 29RKWE had no listed weight or length.
The 26LBWE was the only Western Elevation plan whose floor plan page listed weights and tank sizes when this guide was written. It lists a 980-pound hitch weight, 2,100 pounds of carrying capacity and an 81-gallon fresh water tank, compared with 54 gallons on each Cougar Half-Ton travel trailer that lists its tanks. Keystone's line page also lists built-in ABS, off-road-ready tires and dual 30-pound propane bottles among the line's features.
Every Cougar line has at least one floor plan rated to sleep four and at least one rated to sleep ten, so the choice comes down to tow vehicle and layout.
- Couples who tow a travel trailer: the 21LBK and 22MLS are the shortest and lightest Half-Ton travel trailers, at 6,090 and 6,335 pounds.
- Couples who want a fifth wheel: the Sport 2100ML is the shortest Cougar fifth wheel at 25 ft 11 in; the Half-Ton 26RES and 30REP and the premium 260MLE, 295RDS and 350LLK also sleep four.
- Families in a travel trailer: the 28BHS sleeps ten at 7,555 pounds, and the Western Elevation 28BHWE sleeps ten at 7,800 pounds.
- Families in a fifth wheel: the Sport 2700BH and Half-Ton 29MBD sleep ten at 7,800 and 9,325 pounds; the premium 360MBI and 364BHL sleep ten at 12,499 and 11,669 pounds.
- Extended stays: the premium fifth wheels list 16 cu ft refrigerators, against 10.60 cu ft on the Half-Ton and Sport plans, and the 290RLS lists washer/dryer prep in its description.
Start with the trailer's gross vehicle weight rating, which Keystone defines as "the maximum weight your RV can safely handle", equal to the unloaded weight plus the net carrying capacity.
Keystone's floor plan pages list a shipping weight and a carrying capacity rather than a GVWR, so read the GVWR and the actual weight from the labels on the trailer you are buying. Keystone's floor plan pages tell buyers to "read all labels that are on each trailer for information concerning the safe operation of the unit and its components, actual weight(s), cargo carrying capacity, and tire information", and add that owners "are solely responsible for the selection and proper use of tow vehicles".
- Compare the trailer's GVWR with your truck's tow rating.
- Compare the trailer's hitch weight, loaded, with your truck's payload after passengers and gear. On Cougar fifth wheels the listed hitch weight is 1,265 pounds or more, against 700 to 1,060 pounds on the Half-Ton travel trailers.
- Check the combined weight of truck and loaded trailer against the truck's gross combined weight rating.
- Check height: the premium fifth wheels are listed at 13 ft 4 in or taller.
Searchshop's guide to half-ton towable travel trailers walks through the truck check step by step, and fifth wheel vs travel trailer explains how the two hitch types differ.
Narrow the Cougar lineup by tow vehicle first, then by how many people you sleep, then by layout.
- If you tow with a half-ton truck and want a travel trailer, start with the Cougar Half-Ton travel trailers, which Keystone markets for half-ton trucks, and check each plan's hitch weight against your payload.
- If you want a lighter fifth wheel, compare the Cougar Sport and Half-Ton fifth wheels, and confirm your truck's payload covers the loaded hitch weight; Keystone lists 1,265 to 1,890 pounds before loading.
- If you already have a heavy-duty truck and want the most space, compare the premium Cougar fifth wheels by layout and carrying capacity.
- Ask the dealer for the weight labels on the exact trailer, since options change the actual weight.
To compare with other brands, see the Jayco Jay Feather floor plans guide and the Grand Design fifth wheels floor plans guide. When you have a short list, search Keystone Cougar and other RV listings from dealers on Searchshop.
Keystone's index pages list 28 floor plans for the 2027 Cougar: nine Half-Ton travel trailers, three Cougar Sport fifth wheels, six Half-Ton fifth wheels and ten premium fifth wheels. Keystone's Cougar build page also lists nine Cougar Western Elevation travel trailers, for 37 Cougar floor plans in all on 21 October 2026.
The Cougar Half-Ton lines are the shorter, lighter Cougars that Keystone markets to owners of half-ton trucks, while the premium Cougar fifth wheels are larger and heavier. Half-Ton fifth wheels list 7,864 to 9,590 pounds shipping weight, against 9,674 to 12,499 pounds for the premium fifth wheels. Hitch weight and payload, not the line name, decide what your truck can tow.
Six Cougar floor plans are rated to sleep ten: the 28BHS travel trailer, the Western Elevation 28BHWE, the Sport 2700BH, the Half-Ton 29MBD and the premium 360MBI and 364BHL fifth wheels. They range from 7,555 to 12,499 pounds shipping weight, so the right one depends on your tow vehicle.
Cougar fifth wheels run from 25 ft 11 in for the Sport 2100ML to 39 ft 3 in for the premium 350LLK, 355FBS and 360MBI, according to Keystone's listed lengths. The Half-Ton fifth wheels sit between 27 ft 11 in and 34 ft 11 in, which can matter for campsites with length limits.
