Buying a motorcycle from Vehicle City Harley-Davidson in Flint, Michigan? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Vehicle City Harley-Davidson should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Vehicle City Harley-Davidson in Flint, Michigan.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.

10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

Just bought my first bike today in Flint Michigan from Tony Bray and the experience was perfect!! From start to finish he took the time to answer every question I had with his own experience and explain each feature on every bike we looked at, even ones he knew I didn’t want to buy! Amanda at the gear booth was extremely helpful as was Seth at the parts counter!! Every single person was very easy going and took their time while talking to me I didn’t once feel rushed into anything or pressured to make a purchase! I will definitely be returning when I’m ready for a different ride!! Ask for Tony if you make it in to get one for yourself!

I just finished a little shopping trip at Vehicle-City, and what a pleasant experience. Bobbie is one of the best sales associates I have encountered in a long time. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. A place you will enjoy spending your money at, plus, all the great things you can find. Shirts, jackets, hats, even P.J.'s, for all seasons. Go find Bobbie and buy yourself something, or many somethings!!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
