Buying a motorcycle from Speed Nation Powersports in New Hudson, Michigan? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Speed Nation Powersports should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.

Very Helpful finding the right parts for my discontinued Arctic Cat. They had everything I needed!
Where do I even begin... Stopped in on a whim to check out what they had available and if they had a certain Kawasaki I was interested in. Walking in the front doors I was surprised to see all the inventory they have from a sidewalk filled with a variety of dirt bikes to a whole showroom of side x sides sport bikes motorcycles pwcs & atvs! James & Jim are the ones who welcomed me.. after some chit chat I explained to what I was searching for and how I wanted it. I was a little nervous at first but James gave me peace of mind, even got me a rebate from Kawasaki and a discount on my aftermarket add ons not to mention got me a good deal on a extended warranty. I checked with another dealership and not only did I get more with Speed Nation I also saved $. I have to say I am far beyond happy & impressed with my purchase & experience from the team here at Speed Nation and I would HIGHLY recommend them. Thanks again I'll be back to visit soon!
They will lure you in with dishonest pricing and then add thousands to the price. Fees are crazy high. Found exact machine for $2000 cheaper elsewhere. I spoke directly with a sales guy who told me $7000-$8000 for a machine all in. Brought my whole family in all excited to find out it was $10,800. No I didn’t misunderstand. Hate doing a bad review but this is not how you treat people.
Great experience with the service department at Speed Nation Powersports! I needed to get my rear tire changed and Kevin, an amazing employee helped me find the right tire for my riding. The experience was very smooth and quick. I had my brand new tire the very next day for a good price. Overall I had a very good experience with the service department and highly recommend to anyone who wants stuff done good and fast!
Overall great experience from start to finish. Went in to look at a dirt bike for my son and staff was extremely knowledgeable, nice and attentive. Being that the weather was unusually warm for a Michigan March, the dealer was pretty busy. Joe and James were able to tag team assistance to me and my family as we perused the inventory. Joe started the conversation as we locked into a unit we liked. He got unexpectedly pulled away to a different matter, so James jumped right in to continue the discussion. Once we made our mind up, Joe jumped on the paperwork while James got the bike prepped and ready to sell. Everything went smooth and professional - it really could not have gone better. I got a good deal on the unit, (especially considering this was the last one in inventory for the year and it was only March) they waived a lot of the nonsense fees and even gave my son a helmet to go with it. I have been to this local dealer for service, buying maintenance items and now for a new unit off the showroom floor - each time has been a pleasant experience. Thank you thank you for being part of the local community. I would like to add, they were one of the few dealers that would even entertain working on my 1995 4 wheeler a couple years ago and they got it running like a top.
