I bought a Boston Whaler 280 outrage from Gull Lake Marine in South Haven this past August. The sales team was great. They handed me the keys to a couple of different boats and told me to take them out on the lake for a test drive. They put no pressure on me to buy and were very happy to answer all of my questions. Once I decided on the Whaler, they made sure that anything that needed to be fixed was done quickly and efficiently. Not only did I get a great boat, I also feel like I made a few friends in the process. Thank you everyone at Gull Lake Marine. I recently took this boat in to have the steering checked. The alarm kept going off and shutting down the power steering. They said they spent 4 hours on the phone with mercury and came to the conclusion that it was a power issue. They charged me $800 dollars and told me to plug the boat in and reave up the motors before leaving the dock. 2 hours later the steering went out again. I know for a fact that they were not on the boat for 4 hours. This has been going on for 2 weeks. I guess I need to find another place to work on my boat if this is going to be how they treat their customers. It’s too bad because they’re some great people working there. After posting the above review, I was contacted by the service director for Gull Lake Marine. After discussing what had happened, she assured me that they were going to make this right. She started by crediting me back the $800 I was charged for the previous service. She also spoke to the service manager and the communication instantly improved. They started working on my boat and kept me updated every step of the way. They diagnosed the problem and found that it was the steering actuator. That’s what I thought it was the whole time. They wanted to make sure that they knew exactly what the problem was before fixing it. They put on the new part and the boat steers great. Finally the service director agreed at split the $5800 service fee me which saved me almost $3000. I appreciate the fact that Gull Lake admitted that they had made a mistake and did everything they could to make it right. I will not hesitate to take my boat back to them for service in the future. Thank you Gull Lake and your staff for doing the right thing!
We purchased our first “big boat” this month from Darren, Matt and Mike at Gull Lake Marine and it was a great experience. Well…3 months later and the honeymoons over. We still don’t have a license plate/registration for our trailer. Their solution so far is to not return my emails.

The best marina in South Haven! Very friendly, honest, great people all around. We used pretty much all of what they have to offer. Bought a boat through their brokerage, used the service department for advice and launching, and stayed a couple weeks to ready everything to cross to Wisconsin. Great amenities with a well kept marina. Can't say enough about the people here. We will 100% be back to visit.
