Zach at Montcalm Marine was fantastic. He handled everything from my first phone call to the completion of the work and was involved every step of the way. He got everything done in record time without cutting corners, which is rare to find these days. On top of that, he took the time to walk me through exactly what my boat needed — and what it would take to bring it back to a true showroom finish. It's great to have someone so knowledgeable and passionate working on your equipment. I know exactly where I’ll be going the next time I need anything boat-related — Montcalm Marine.
This is truly a great company. They’ve always gone out of their way to help me out when I need it and I love that they educate me on things that I can do to fix for the next time. I truly appreciate them.
I did not originally purchase my boat from Mitchell at Montcalm Marine but I almost forgot I didn't after the amazing service that was provided to me when I took my boat in for my 20 hour service and some upgrades. They treated my boat and I as if I was just buying it. I met Mitchell and some of the guys at the Ultimate Outdoorsman Show this winter. We talked about some upgrades for my boat and some small issues I was concerned about. Mitchell made it very clear that he would now be the Dealer that I would call home. I was a little skeptical because it all sounded too good to be true. Well I'm going to be screaming from the rooftops how awesome of a dealer Montcalm Marine is! They exceeded my expectations on the timeframe it took to install the upgrades and do the motor service work. They were awesome in communicating everything with me. The upgraded wiring/charging system I had installed is top notch and Garrett did an amazing job with install. I am so impressed with this experience! I work with contractors all day everyday and it is very common for them to talk a big game and then leave you feeling unimpressed. Mitchell and the guys at Montcalm Marine really showed out and I can honestly say I will never feel the need to visit another dealer ever again!
This place has been great. Not only was my new Phoenix Bass Boat on time, it was 2 weeks early! From the purchasing experience to the service department….Mitchell, Garrett, Tom, Michelle, and the rest of the crew will take great care of you. Thanks again Montcalm Marine!
Mitchell and Tom were great to work with when purchasing a boat, and walking through the rigging process. Highly recommend them if you are in the market for a new/used boat!

Buying a boat from Montcalm Marine in Stanton, Michigan? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Montcalm Marine which models suit the waterways near Stanton, Michigan.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Montcalm Marine.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Montcalm Marine will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Montcalm Marine should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
