Tracker vs Lund comes down to price, hull construction and warranty. Tracker sells welded hulls, most as 2027 boat, motor and trailer packages, at national prices that top out at $55,395. Lund describes double-riveted seams, calls its heavy-gauge series all-welded and lists models up to $122,382. In six of seven similar-size pairs, Lund's starting price is higher.

Prices are in US dollars and were read from each builder's US website on 20 October 2026. Tracker's prices are its 2027 NO HAGGLE NO HASSLE national prices for the boat, the Mercury outboard shown and a trailer, before dealer prep and freight. Lund's are "starting at" prices for a base boat, motor and trailer package, before dealer freight, prep, tariffs, fees, taxes and registration. Lund's pages do not say which motor or model year each price includes, so ask a dealer to quote both boats with the same engine.

How this comparison was made

Each Tracker model was paired with the Lund model closest to it in length and hull type, using the prices and specifications each builder publishes. Every figure was read from Tracker's and Lund's own websites on 20 October 2026, then checked a second time by a separate review. Nothing here comes from water tests or sea trials, and neither brand is called better overall.

The two builders do not publish the same details. Tracker's category pages give length, beam, maximum horsepower and, for some models, fuel capacity, with the motor included in each price. Lund's lineup page gives length, maximum horsepower for most models and person capacity, but not which motor its starting price includes. Where only one builder publishes a figure, it is shown for that builder alone.

How do the Tracker and Lund lineups differ?

Tracker sorts its aluminum boats into three hull groups, while Lund lists a larger lineup. Tracker's mod V, deep V and jon pages list 39 models. Lund's lineup page lists 58 models, from small jon and utility boats to heavy-gauge big-water boats. Both builders sell their boats with Mercury outboards; Lund says "All Lund boats are sold with Mercury Marine engines."

  • Tracker's range: the most expensive model on Tracker's three category pages is the Grizzly 2072 CC Sportsman Kicker at $55,395 with a 150 hp motor.
  • Lund's range: Lund's highest starting prices are the 2175 Pro-V at $122,382 and the 240 HG Pro at $122,100.
  • Where each began: Tracker says Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops began producing completely outfitted boat and motor packages in 1978, and its boats are built in Lebanon, Missouri. Lund says Howard Lund built his first aluminum duck boat in 1948, and it builds in New York Mills, Minnesota.
  • Where to buy: Tracker says its boats are sold by independent dealers and Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Boat Centers. Lund says its boats "can only be purchased through authorized Lund dealers."

Welded vs riveted: how the hulls are built

The biggest construction difference is that Tracker welds its hulls while Lund describes double-riveted seams. Tracker's construction page says its "mod V, deep V and jon boat hulls are all welded—hull seams, bulkheads, stringer, transom and gunnels are joined to form one unitized system." It says the hulls are made from "5052 H34 marine-grade alloy" and that Tracker uses robotic welding for stringers and transoms.

Lund's quality page says it uses "advanced robotic technology" to "install double-riveted seams," with close-spaced longitudinal supports and its own stringer system. Lund's heavy-gauge HG boats are different: Lund titles that page "All-Welded Heavy Gauge Aluminum Boats for All Waters." Lund's support page says that in 2018 all its transoms were made with composite material, except on the Angler, Renegade, jon boat and Predator models, which have aluminum transoms.

Neither construction method is shown here to be better, because no builder data compares the two directly. For more on how aluminum hulls compare with other materials, see aluminum vs fiberglass boats.

Price: what each package includes

Tracker publishes one national price per package, while Lund's starting price is a guide and the dealer sets the final figure. Tracker's pricing page says the same published price applies at every dealer and that "the only thing that varies is the cost of freight." Its mod V page says every model comes as a "complete ready-to-fish package" with a custom-fit trailer, Mercury outboard, Minn Kota trolling motor, Lowrance fishfinder and an aerated livewell, and its deep V page says those boats come "factory rigged" with the same items.

Lund says its "Starting at" price "reflects either MAP or NAP price on a base boat with motor trailer package, optional equipment not included," and that "Dealer sets the final purchase price." Its support page adds that the online price "should only be used as an estimate." Lund also stresses customization: its value page cites "numerous color/graphic combinations" and a wide selection of features and options. For both brands, get a written out-the-door quote that lists the engine, trailer, freight, prep, taxes and fees.

Entry and bass boats: how the smaller models compare

In the four entry and bass pairs, Tracker's packages cost less in three, and the gaps are narrower than in bigger boats. Tracker's Super Guide V-16 SC is 16' 1" long, rated for 50 hp and priced at $17,995 with a 40 hp motor. The Lund 1600 Fury is 16' 2", rated for 40 hp and starts at $17,280, the only pair here where Lund starts lower.

Tracker's Pro Guide V-16 SC is 16' 6" with a 7' 4" beam, a 90 hp rating and a 25.5-gallon tank, at $21,995 with 50 hp. Lund's 1650 Rebel XL is 16' 7" with an 85" beam and starts at $25,633; Lund's lineup page does not list its maximum horsepower.

Mod-V bass boats: Pro Team vs Renegade

Tracker's Pro Team 175 is 17' 7" with a 75 hp rating, at $24,995 with 60 hp. Lund's 1775 Renegade is 17' 9", rated for 90 hp and starts at $29,168. One size up, Tracker's Pro Team 195 is 18' 7" with an 8' 2" beam and a 150 hp rating, at $32,395 with a Mercury Pro XS 115. Lund's 1875 Renegade is 18' 9", rated for 115 hp and starts at $34,236. For how these mod-V boats differ from flat-bottom hulls, see jon boat vs bass boat.

Fish-and-ski and big-water deep-Vs

In fish-and-ski and big-water boats, Lund's starting prices move well above Tracker's, and Lund's deep-V line runs longer. Tracker's Targa V-18 Combo, one of its fish-and-ski models, is 18' 2" with an 8' 6" beam, a 200 hp rating and a 40-gallon tank, at $44,595 with a 150 hp motor. Lund's 1875 Impact XS, from a series Lund calls "versatile fish and ski boats," is 18' 10", rated for 150 hp and starts at $55,103.

For bigger water, Tracker's Targa V-19 WT is 19 feet with a 225 hp rating and a 47-gallon tank, at $46,995 with a 150 hp motor. Lund's Pro-V 1975 is 19' 10", also rated for 225 hp, and starts at $85,965. Lund's lineup continues past Tracker's largest deep-V to the 21' 10" 2175 Pro-V, rated for 400 hp, and the 2275 Tyee at 22' 9" and 425 hp.

Jon and hunting boats

Both builders sell jon boats for hunting and shallow water, and Tracker's package costs less in the pair compared. Tracker's Grizzly 1648 SC is 16' 1" with a 6-foot beam and a 50 hp rating, at $15,995 with a 20 hp motor. Lund's 1660 Predator DLX, which Lund calls "a 16 foot jon boat built for fishing and hunting," is 16 feet, rated for 50 hp and starts at $23,082.

Tracker says its flat-bottom jon boats have "seamless, welded hulls," and its construction page lists .190-inch floors for Grizzly jon boats. Its smaller flat-bottom Grizzly jon boats are priced without a listed motor, from $1,495 for the Grizzly 10 Jon.

Warranty: Tracker vs Lund

Both builders give lifetime structural coverage, but Tracker's full-boat coverage runs five years against Lund's three. Tracker's warranty page describes a "Limited Lifetime Structural and Deck Warranty" that covers "the hull, interior ribs, transom, exterior welds and decking" for the original owner, plus five years of bow-to-stern parts and labor coverage. It says the warranty "is transferrable to a second owner within five years of the original purchase." It applies to 2015 and newer models and does not cover TOPPER jon boats, which have a three-year structural warranty.

Lund's value page describes a lifetime limited warranty "including a lifetime warranty on double-riveted seams, transom and flooring," and "a three-year bow-to-stern coverage." Lund's support page says 2006 and newer models have "a transferable warranty for a fee," and later owners are eligible for "a 10-year prorated warranty that is based off of the boat's original date of sale." The transfer goes through a Lund dealer within 60 days of purchase.

Which one should you buy?

Choose Tracker for the lower packaged price in most pairs and longer full-boat coverage, and Lund for more models, its customization choices and longer deep-V boats.

  • Lowest price with everything included: Tracker's national price covers the boat, motor and trailer, and its mod V and deep V packages add a trolling motor and fishfinder.
  • A 16-foot starter boat: the Lund 1600 Fury ($17,280) and Tracker Super Guide V-16 SC ($17,995) are within $715, so compare the motor each dealer quotes.
  • An 18-foot bass boat: the Tracker Pro Team 195 and Lund 1875 Renegade are $1,841 apart, and Tracker's rating is higher (150 hp against 115 hp).
  • A deep-V over 20 feet: Lund lists Pro-V, Tyee, Fisherman, Impact XS and other models above 20 feet; Tracker's longest deep-V, the Targa V-19, is 19 feet.
  • Welded construction: Tracker welds its mod V, deep V and jon hulls; at Lund, look at the HG series.
  • Warranty for a used boat: a Tracker transfers to a second owner within five years of the first sale; a Lund transfers for a fee as a 10-year prorated warranty. Check the boat with the used boat inspection checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lund better than Tracker?

Neither brand is better for every buyer; they suit different budgets and needs. Tracker's 2027 packages are priced lower in six of the seven pairs compared here and include a motor, trailer and, on mod V and deep V models, a trolling motor and fishfinder. Lund lists more models, stresses customization and builds longer deep-V boats, up to the 22' 9" 2275 Tyee, which Lund lists among its deep-V boats.

Are Lund boats welded or riveted?

Lund describes double-riveted seams, and it calls its heavy-gauge HG series all-welded. Lund's quality page says it uses robotic technology to "install double-riveted seams," and its warranty covers those seams for life. Lund's HG page is titled "All-Welded Heavy Gauge Aluminum Boats for All Waters." Tracker says all of its mod V, deep V and jon hulls are welded.

Which has the better warranty, Tracker or Lund?

Tracker's published warranty gives longer full-boat coverage, and both cover the structure for life. Tracker covers the hull, ribs, transom, welds and decking for life for the original owner, plus five years of bow-to-stern coverage, transferable within five years. Lund covers its riveted seams, transom and flooring for life, with three years of bow-to-stern coverage and a prorated transfer for a fee.
