Shopping for a vehicle at Bruce Bennett Nissan in Wilton, Connecticut? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Bruce Bennett Nissan if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Bruce Bennett Nissan if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Bruce Bennett Nissan.

I recently purchased a Frontier from this dealership, and the experience was outstanding. My salesman, Jeremiah Rosario, was a true professional—extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. He streamlined the entire process and has extensive knowledge of the vehicle. Jason Reis the manager was equally helpful; his many years with Nissan show in his expertise and professionalism. I have nothing but positive things to say about both the truck and the overall experience. Jason, also offered servicing and a protection plan as part of the purchase, and I’m excited to use this service center for regular maintenance and repairs. I would confidently recommend this team to friends and family.
I'm very happy with my Nissan Rogue. The price was great, and the salesperson helped me a lot. I told them what I had (Money) and what I could afford, and they checked the numbers and worked out the financing, and they gave me exactly what I wanted. I even get my oil changes done there all the time, and the people in that service department are also very good and polite. Thank you, and please keep up the great work!
I purchased a car during the transition of dealership owners this summer. It was a difficult few weeks after as the previous owner did not pay off my old car. Jason, the new owner, contacted me directly and handled the situation. He made sure to fix every mistake that was made by his predecessor and did it very quickly. He was happy to handle it appropriately, even though it wasn't a mess that he made. Thankful for how Jason handled my experience and I will return in the future, as long as he's there.
I had the pleasure of talking to Jean Torres about my current Nissan Rogue.I appreciate the thorough knowledge, professionalism, and guidance I received from Jean. Thank you so much for helping me make the best choice. Nissan should be very proud to have staff members like Jean who are certainly an asset to the company. NK
Bought a used 2016 Ram 1500 on 5/31/2025 as of 6/6/2025 the Massachusetts registration transfer still isn’t completed. Which means tomorrow I will no longer be able to legally drive the truck until they figure out how to do their job. Without the registration I cannot get a second keyfob (truck only came with one) made because Dodge requires bill of sale AND registration to get the programing pin on top of the vehicle being purchased in both mine and my husband’s name which means we both physically have to be there with photo ID to get the pin and he gets deployed on Monday so I’ll have to wait until he gets back which means I won’t be driving the truck until he’s home because the risk of losing the key and having to pay thousands to reprogram the truck to a set of keys isn’t worth it to me. We were told that it would be registered on Monday and the registration paperwork overnighted to us for Tuesday. After they messed up the paperwork and didn’t get it done Monday they promised we would have it registered by Friday but it’s Friday and still no registration. Our salesman is no longer responding and the sales manager will not return my phone calls. Never mind the lies they told us about how they wouldn’t fix the broken parking brake or chipped windshield when we looked at the truck and told them on 5/27/2025 that the truck would not pass mass inspection. Their response was“they didn’t have to abide by Massachusetts inspection laws. But lo and behold even in the state of CT they still have to pass a checklist including safety which those 2 issues fall under so they had to fix it, which they did. Why lie about it? They also claimed that they were going to have the truck detailed again prior to us leaving with it. Which they didn’t. The interior was still full of grime from the previous owner along with the previous owners personal information left in the vehicle when we test drove it. If I could rate this dealership zero stars I would. ***edit the “adjustment” were told happen was actually just zip tying the parking brake cable so there was more tension on it so the absolutely worn down shoes would work good enough for long enough for us to sign the paperwork
