Auto Buyer's Guide – Bell Cadillac, Inc.

Shopping for a vehicle at Bell Cadillac, Inc. in Adrian, Michigan? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.

  1. 1

    Pull the vehicle history report

Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Bell Cadillac, Inc. if a report is available for any listing.

  2. 2

    Take a thorough test drive

Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.

  3. 3

    Inspect for hidden wear

Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.

  4. 4

    Get a pre-purchase inspection

Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Bell Cadillac, Inc. if a third-party inspection is permitted.

  5. 5

    Negotiate the out-the-door price

Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Bell Cadillac, Inc..

So I originally dropped my car off last January it had a dash light coming on in regard to the traction control which was also causing we believe the check engine light, after 2 weeks ended up having to replace apart requiring a reprogramming and said it was fixed. It was about another week before the lights were back on. We took it back, 3 days later they call and said the mechanic checked all the wiring, tightened everything up and everything looks good. A few weeks later, the lights are back on...... my car is going into Limp mode again, I had to leave the job I just accepted. We dropped it off on a Friday evening after it broke down on the way to my son's school play. They' then kept the car for over 2 months and let it sit outside in the parking lot for most of it. I took photos! They end up replacing a part I told them was already switched out and called me two weeks ago and tell me it's fixed except when I went to leave the parking lot, there was a huge noise coming from underneath. So I parked it back in its spot, dropped it back off to them and said I don't know if you fixed the previous problem but now there's new problems. So last week they call me and tell me that it was due to the brakes rusting from sitting so long duh! And this was their message...they now after paying $1400 the first time, and them not fixing it...they now want another $900 to fix the now ABS tone ring, bearing, brake and sensor which by the way...the bearing with the sensor is about 80 bucks. You take the wheel and brake off...that simple. And quite frankly, this could have been the issue all along causing the traction stuff. It may have never been anything electrical or having to do with the brain or computer itself. This place is a joke! GO TO A DEALERSHIP WITH REAL MECHANICS, SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE!! By the way, not only is my abs light on now, the original traction light is still on as well. Morning Justin. So the tech ahs put some miles on the Malibu and said that was certainly the brakes making the noise and feeling, it is now 95% gone just from driving it a bit. One thing he did happen is the ABS light came on, he found the left rear wheel bearing ABS tone ring had a magnet fall off (corrosion causes this) and when this happens it wedges into the wheel speed sensor itslef, will need a new bearing and speed sensor. The hubwe can have later today, the sensor would take us a few days to a week or so to get here. $893.49 plus tax, this is parts and labor
