Shopping for a vehicle at Acura Of Peabody in Peabody, Massachusetts? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Acura Of Peabody if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Acura Of Peabody if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Acura Of Peabody.

Chris sold me my dream car! He was amazing! I really wasn't sure if I wanted a sedan or SUV. He let me drive them all! He's patient and kind. I highly recommend him. Yes, HIGHLY!! The young lady setting up my financing was also wonderful!
I recently purchased my vehicle at Acura Of Peabody, and I had the pleasure of working Cris. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel welcome and treated me like family. Cris was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to helping me find the right car that fit my needs and budget. He took the time to explain every detail about the car, car maintenance. Cris thank you so much!!

This is how a professional dealer fixes a water leak complaint. Let me smear seam sealer with my my finger like peanut butter my car looks great now when I open the hood. I wouldn’t fix my 2005 rusted out f250 like this.
****I live 2 hours away in NH. Janet from internet sales told me that if I wanted to ensure that the car was there that I would be required to leave a $500 "fully refundable deposit". My guess is the deposit being "refundable" was/is based on the sale of the vehicle. My sales person Cris I had been speaking with called me back and said it wasn't necessary. I went to the dealership for a 1:00 appointment. The car I was looking at is a Honda Passport Touring 2021 vin #WA1BNAFY7J2033932. Still up online. I asked for $1000 off the car since it had been sitting for 54+days. The car was listed online at 27791. There was a dealer fee of 600 (on their website), then 599 then 595 on my motor vehicle contract. Initially, Janet had quoted me $28291+595 out the door via email Cris had quoted me at $28391 out the door including the dealer's fee.He said that the only way I could have 1k off was if I used their financial providers. I asked if they had SCU and he said yes. There were numbers crossed off and added in on my purchase agreement after I signed it. The credit unions total of included a plate fee of $135 that I had asked Cris to subtract from my purchase contract since I live in NH was still there. I met with Vanessa (finance manager) made me aware that SCU had me at a credit score appx 40 points lower-she had submitted my application and it came back at 8.7%. This was documented at indirect lending. I said that couldn't be possible because I was already preapproved at a much lower rate. I called Service Credit to make verify my preapproval and credit score that resulted as a hard pull to prove to Vanessa. SCU verified all of this. HOWEVER, she said while I was waiting for her to print my paperwork from SCU that she had pulled my Experian credit and saw it was at a 90 points higher so maybe "if I wanted to see with my Experian score she could check Bank of America for a better rate at a hard pull. I refused. She also mentioned that if I wanted she could use that score to shop a better rate. I went home and the next day I sent Cris a text about how this is a scam. He said he had the day off. I never heard back after being told they would call me to arrange delivery from Vanessa and sparse texts vague texts from Cris. I spoke with the sales manager Norm, and Janet from internet sales. Cris and Vanessa were unavailable. I called my lender several times to figure out what was happening. They confirmed my loan app was submitted falsely. I spoke with the service manager and wrote to Cris explaining that due to discrepancies that I would like to have my mechanic check out the car and the sale would be contingent on the findings of my mechanic. I'd also like the floor mats we discussed. I sent inquires to fix the numbers regarding all of the discrepancies. Norm told me I didnt have to take the car. After a 2 hour drive, 5 hour negotiations followed by another 2 hour drive home. I found the car I want and thought I had a deal with 1k off due to the black Friday special 2 payments or 1k if I signed with the dealer. The purchase order did not reflect even 2 car payments. I have multiple screenshots of the car the offers and recorded calls through my credit union that have documented the dealers 1k discount in trade to finance with Acura Peabody. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and Consumer Affairs and The Massachusetts General Atty.I have alerted the dealership of these discrepancies. Norm, the sales manager agreed since my mechanic was 2 miles from town hall that he could inspect the car. I never received a preview of my loan terms from the dealership. Service Credit has a loan approval for hundreds dollars over my ask to borrow. The sale was canceled on the dealerships side. Sent Mr. LIM an email documenting the experience and he immediately called and asked why I called him? TRUTH IN LENDING VIOLATIONS-THIS IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE. Also predatory lending. ***Look at YELP reviews because they are more accurate.*** ****No, this was not addressed appropriately. I gave the dealership a chance to correct my paperwork.
