Even as a young man, Charles had a sense of adventure. He had several trucks with campers, and in 1978, he sold most everything he owned so he could purchase a fifth wheel trailer to full time RV across the US and Canada. About 1983, after having some issues with his own 5th wheel, he decided to open an RV service business out of the back of his pickup at the KOA campground in West Sacramento.

Fantastic experience with Blue Compass RV. Had never heard of this RV place, found them in searching for a new motor home. Started with meeting Brian outside showing us what we wanted. Melinda was great doing all the paperwork! Lots of paperwork. She explained it all so we could understand it. Thank you! Then we shopped with Kelli. We loved her enthusiasm and excitement for us. Very nice and knowledgeable people. Melinda was especially amazing and made the buying process smooth and easy. I really like the year free pass to camp at rv parks, the downside to that pass is you only get 1 zone to choose from and there is a small number of rv parks you can actually camp at for free, unless you upgrade your pass. The good being said, now the bad. The service department did not do what they said they were going to do when it came to us picking up our trailer, multiple things were not fixed like they said it would and in fact they ended up breaking something, and the tanks were not flushed and emptied as was supposed to be. So while the people there are very nice and knowledgeable, the service portion needs to do better.
I was looking to replace my existing trailer brake controller with a model that wouldn’t bump my legs when entering and exiting my vehicle. I actually selected a model through Blue Compass’ parts department and arranged a service appointment to have it installed. When I arrived, the service technician Alex looked at my existing controller and advised me that it was way superior to the one I selected, and then proceeded to re-work the position of the unit so as to not interfere with my legs. Despite my offer to pay, he refused to charge me. The honest and helpful service that Alex provided, as well as Faith in Parts and others at Blue Compass, is next level. They have earned my business and I can recommend them to anyone looking for honest and professional service for their RV.
Love this place! Great people and services. I've purchased 2 new trailers from them and love my Montana. Chelli and Kelli in the Parts department are amazing! I can't leave out Zack the GM and Malinda in finance. Thank you all! I want to thank Thomas for helping me navigate the process with Keystone in getting my (out of warranty) Montana warrantied for a roof replacement and a frame repair. Thank you to Misty at Keystone corp. Customer Service Manager for putting this together! Keystone will pick up my rig and take it to Oregon in December for the repairs. My wife and I will pick it up about 10 weeks later and cruse the coast back to CA. More to come.
