First and foremost the owners of El Kapitan (Brendan & Ashley) are absolutely the right kind of people to do business with. Honest : Trustworthy : Professional : Accessible : Fair : and most importantly very nice people. My wife and I had been looking for a killer 170 MB Sprinter with the 3.0 6 cylinder for quite a while. We were in no rush but I kinda knew that when I saw the right rig at the right price I would know it. I started seeing El Kapitan rigs popping up on different sites - they looked good and people spoke very highly of the build and the owners. Now I know why ! They answered all my questions, never pressured me and were super patient. They never made me feel like I wasn’t worth their time. I told them I wanted a Sprinter but needed to learn about them. Fast forward - they answered all my questions, taught me a bunch and were incredibly accommodating. The rig is exactly what wanted but I bought it because of the ownership, Brendan & Ashley. I’ve always taught my salespeople that “people do business with people they like”. They are extremely likable and their rigs are bad ass. Here’s a couple pictures of the one we bought. Our family’s first trip was to mammoth and this thing was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for a greater sprinter and you want to do business with trustworthy people then look no further than Brendan and Ashley at El Kapitan. We are 1000000% Stoked 🤙
I worked with El Kapitan to build a Mercedes 4x4 Sprinter that I had planned on living in while I drove around the country for potentially multiple years. It was a difficult project; it had to be luxurious enough for me (who has admittedly high standards) to live in long term while still being completely self sufficient and rugged enough to spend extended periods of time boondocking off road. I shopped around to other van builders and El Kapitan was by far the best option. Their craftsmanship was far better than anyone else's but they were also professional-- They picked up or answered every call. I could come back after months on the road and they'd quickly turn around whatever edit or upgrade I wanted done. Brendan and Billy (really the entire staff) were a pleasure to work with and get to know throughout the whole process. I look forward to using them in the future on my next van!!!
I bought my van over a year ago and these guys stand by their build. My awning from CareFree broke on a Sunday. I called their previous tech person and he helped me even though he doesn't work there now. On Monday, i called El Kapitan and got a new Fiamma awning put on within hours! No hassles or paperwork. So glad i went with a local company that stands by their builds with pride and excellent service. Try getting that type of service with anyone else...
I highly recommend El Kapitan to do your van outfitting! I recently had my Mercedes Sprinter van upfitted with the Ranger shelving system, L track flooring and a sliding door partition. It was the absolute best thing I have done to get my company workhorse of a van set up for everyday, efficient use. I had the pleasure of having Ashley help me with my order. She was so nice and very knowledgeable about all the products I wanted to have installed! She was kind and patient with all of my many questions. I ended up purchasing everything I originally wanted, and some additional items I did not originally plan on ordering, which I am happy I did. Also, Shelly was an absolute pleasure to work with while my van was being upfitted. Excellent customer service! There was a tiny bump in the process, and she completely took care of everything perfectly. I love the final result of all the great work El Kapitan did and I am so happy that I found El Kapitan to customize my van. Beautiful work, above and beyond customer service, and professional installation of all items I wanted installed. Thank you!!
