Made the purchase of our second travel trailer through this dealership. Our salesman Christian was super attentive and was always quick to respond to questions. We did have refund from our old unit, which took awhile to receive. Once I was able to contact management at both the store and regional level, the refund check was quickly issued.

A lot of reviews say sales is great and everything after is lacking—but it’s important to understand this is a high-volume dealership, so some delays are simply part of the process. I worked directly with Christian in sales, Tony in finance, and Jeff/Robin in service and parts for my purchase of a 2026 Jayco 29QBH, and the experience was solid from start to finish. A conversation with Mike (sales manager) ultimately convinced me to move forward—thanks to heavy discounts and Tony’s inclusion of extended warranties that actually lowered my overall cost. There was minimal pressure at any point, and I took a few days to decide. With hundreds of truck and trailer capability combinations out there, I strongly recommend doing your research beforehand to save yourself headaches. This was the first dealership that truly followed through on their word—calling, texting, and providing information I requested in person, even after the sale. Meyer RV in Clifton Park did not, which is why they lost my business. Thanks to the Blue Compass team—nice work. I’m looking forward to a future of great RVs and continued service.

BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I are new to the camping world. With welcoming our newborn we were in the market for something reasonable to “trial” this new venture. We saw the ad for a used camper and contacted the dealer. We asked our questions and after talking to Joe Hunt, the sales associate, we decided to make the 3 hour drive to the dealership to check it out. When we arrived at Blue Compass, the camper was not ready for “viewing.” The refrigerator had spoiled food inside, the previous owners’ personal belongings were still inside, the bathroom was dirty, etc. Joe assured us the camper would be cleaned out, with a full detail. He also told us that the mattress in the bedroom was brand new, just installed, and it would be included in the sale. I didn’t think anything of it at the time when I didn’t see it covered in plastic. After going over the camper, we noticed a few things we further discussed with Joe. Due to the age of the camper and the need for a body and roof seal, I was adiment about making sure the camper did not have any water or mold issues, especially with having our newborn. Joe assured us that all was well by banging on the camper walls. Again, we tried to do our due diligence to the best of our knowledge as this was a whole new venture for us. A day or two later, Joe told us that he discussed our concerns with management and they were willing to do a full roof and body seal, as well as a full detail. Since our concerns were addressed and would be satisfied, we closed the deal. Not long after our “demo” was scheduled, we were heading back to the dealership to take receipt of our new camper. Our “demo” was at 1pm, we arrived early, around noon, to ensure we weren’t late. The camper wasn’t ready for the “demo” until almost 4pm. We were told the propane tanks were full, the holding and waste tanks were empty, a new tire was put on, and the camper was detailed. We were also told by the service manager that they “accidentally” flooded the floor because one of the techs left the water running which caused the delay. However, he ensured us there were no issues from their “flooding mishap.” After being held up for so long and having a 3 hour drive back, we took the camper. When we got back home, my husband found out that all four tires had the incorrect PSI, none of the bearings were greased, the lug nuts on the new tire were loose, the propane tanks were not full, and the roof and body seal was a complete hack job. When we really went through the camper, the full detail wasn’t done either as there were still feces on the inside of the toilet bowl lid, soap scum in the shower, water in the freezer, dead bugs in all the lights, mold on the inside of the bathroom vent, and gum wrappers and mouse poop under the pullout bed. We found the previous owners’ information as well. To make matters worse, the pull out bed had blood splattered on the mattress which is a biohazard in NYS and violated NYS Department of Health regulations. We understand we bought a used camper and there could be a few issues that arise. However, our issue and concerns resort back to all the false promises and information we were told in order for Blue Compass to make the sale. When we contacted Joe in sales, he refused to respond, wiping his hands of us. It took several days to finally get in touch with him. He assured us something would be done and if not, he would “reimburse us out of his own pocket” for the $695 check and advise fee. We took it upon ourselves to contact the previous owners’ regarding our camper concerns. To our surprise, they too, were having issues with Joe and Blue Compass for false promises. We also found out that the mattress Joe told us was new, belonged to the previous owners. In my opinion Joe Hunt and his manager, TJ Hauser, should be removed. They don’t care about you, they care about making a sale. They will promise you anything you ask to close the deal and then you are on your own. They put my new family at risk with an unsafe camper both mechanically and in terms of our health.

Horrible customer service. Drove 4.5 hours to pick up brand new RV. Paid for the extra cleaning and exterior coating. The outside had wax and lots of swirls. The inside was not that clean and the guy supposed to show you how things worked seemed to have never gone over the camper before. Lots of failures on items when using the 1st time. Issue with cable, seems wired wrong. Issues with poor craftsman ship pocket door fell apart and shower leaks. Exterior key was super tight at showing and they said just push it in, well that has broken and they say it’s not covered under warranty. When telling the sales guy he just kept apologizing yet no one addressed the issues rather felt things were good enough even though they could be better. In the end decided to purchase snap pads and they wanted to charge extra for installation even after everything. Disappoint is an understatement when dealing with them. They don’t even know their own campers.

UPDATE We took the Airstream to Blue Compass again; this time everyone was polite and attentive. In particular, Chip Crowther was very proficient and helpful.The camper seems to be repaired. It is winterized now, but hopefully the repairs hold up once I start to live in it again We purchased a brand new 2025 Airstream Trade Wind from Portland/Oregon Airstream Adventures Northwest on 1/21/2025, to take on a cross country move to the east coast. From the day we bought it until today we have had multiple significant issues with the plumbing systems, primarily the water heater working intermittently or not at all. On our trip cross country we took several detours from our plans to have it seen several times by licensed Airstream dealers (Salt Lake City Airstream could not give appointment, Denver, Airstream Factory Service Center Ohio, Airstream of Southern New England Connecticut, Blue Compass RV Albany NY) and experienced a broad spectrum of conflicting information, delays, excuses, and partial fixes. Meanwhile, as we were traveling with 2 small children we wound up having to double book many of our stays with a hotel room in addition to an RV park just to have running hot water and bathe them. This past camping season the water heater remained an intermittent issue that disrupted every one of our camping trips, despite several more service appointments in and out of state for replacement parts. Finally, we parked it for the off season and went to winterize it to find the tanks are reading 100% after draining and the pump will not engage, so we have had to keep the heat on while it sits unused and the temperatures drop. Blue Compass RV Albany NY stated the pump is receiving no power and kept the unit to troubleshoot the pump and the incorrect tank readings. Parts have been ordered for warranty repair. It is now awaiting service, yet again, with no clear root cause, solution, or timeline. Nearly a year later we are still experiencing problems that prevent us from using the most basic features of the travel trailer. Our experience has been far below the standard we would expect from any trailer manufacturer, let alone one with Airstream’s reputation for quality. For these reasons, we are requesting that Airstream take this trailer back from us for a full refund of our purchase price, fees, and peripherals. The main reason that we elected to purchase a luxury travel trailer was the reputation for quality and reliability that Airstream has rightfully gained. We have not received the quality that one would expect from such a premium brand, hence our request to return the trailer for a full refund.
