The right Airstream alternative depends on what draws you to an Airstream. Bowlus also builds riveted aluminum trailers, at prices above most new Airstreams. inTech's Sol pairs an all-aluminum frame with prices well below a new Airstream. On a smaller budget, look at a nuCamp TAB teardrop, a Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser or a used Airstream.

Maker prices below were read from each manufacturer's website on 13 October 2026. Dealer asking prices come from Searchshop listings read the same day.

Lengths are the makers' overall lengths, rounded down to the foot. Medians cover every model year listed and only listings with a price. Ask each dealer what a price includes, such as delivery and dealer fees, and get an out-the-door figure before you compare.

How these alternatives were chosen and compared

These alternatives come from published data, not test drives or camping trips. Each one matches a reason shoppers give for wanting an Airstream: an aluminum build, a distinctive shape, a compact trailer that is easy to tow, or a lower price for the same badge.

Specifications and starting prices were read from each manufacturer's own website on 13 October 2026. Some makers publish no prices, and for those the article relies on dealer asking prices. Makers state weight in different ways (dry weight for some, gross vehicle weight rating for others), so weights are given for each trailer but not ranked against each other.

Dealer asking prices come from Searchshop's listing feed, read on 13 October 2026. Counts are listings whose title matched the model name. A median is shown only when at least five priced listings back it. Asking prices are what dealers list, not what buyers paid.

Airstream itself: new prices and the used route

New Airstream travel trailers start at $64,400 on Airstream's website, and dealers on Searchshop ask a median of $109,991. Airstream's travel trailer page lists 12 models, from the 2027 World Traveler at $64,400 to the Classic at $195,400, and describes its trailers as built "with riveted aluminum."

Which new Airstreams cost the least?

The smaller models are the closest Airstream gets to the alternatives below. The 2027 World Traveler comes in two floor plans from 17 to 22 feet. The 2027 Bambi starts at $75,400 and comes in three floor plans from 16 to 22 feet. On Searchshop, 17 new Bambi listings have a median asking price of $69,251, which is below the 2027 starting price because the listings include earlier model years.

How much do you save buying a used Airstream?

Buying used saves about $30,000 at the median. Used Airstream travel trailers on Searchshop had a median asking price of $79,995 across 148 listings, against $109,991 across 187 new listings on the same day.

Newer used trailers cost more. The 108 used listings from the 2020 model year or later have a median asking price of $92,397. Six used Bambi listings have a median of $44,996.

Ask the dealer whether any factory warranty remains on a used trailer. The Searchshop travel trailer buying guide covers what to inspect on a used trailer.

inTech Sol and Flyer: all-aluminum frames for less

inTech's Sol pairs aluminum construction with a price well below a new Airstream. inTech builds it on "an all-aluminum, fully welded cage frame."

What does the inTech Sol cost?

The inTech Sol comes in four models starting at $44,800 (Dawn), $49,350 (Horizon), $50,260 (Eclipse) and $52,500 (Dusk). The Dawn is 17 feet 1 inch long and sleeps up to two, and the Dusk is 20 feet 8 inches long and sleeps up to four. inTech lists dry weights from 3,300 to 4,100 pounds across the four. On Searchshop, 15 new Sol listings have a median asking price of $44,616, and eight used Sol listings have a median of $26,495.

What about the smaller inTech Flyer?

The inTech Flyer is the lower-priced inTech line, with all-aluminum construction, starting at $15,050 for the 12-foot-5-inch Chase and running to $41,300 for the 22-foot-4-inch Forge. On Searchshop, 18 new Flyer listings with a price have a median of $26,104, and six used Flyer listings have a median of $16,491.

nuCamp TAB: a compact teardrop

A nuCamp TAB suits buyers who want a small, rounded trailer that is light to tow. nuCamp builds its TAB campers in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and does not publish prices on its website, directing shoppers to dealers instead.

The TAB 320 is 15 feet 3 inches long overall with a dry weight of 2,110 pounds. The larger TAB 400 is 18 feet 3 inches long, with a dry weight starting at 2,885 pounds. Always check your own vehicle's towing capacity before you buy.

On Searchshop, 12 used TAB listings had a median asking price of $22,995 on 13 October 2026. For new TAB campers, compare dealer listings directly, because the count of new listings changed while this article was being checked.

Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser: a lower-priced lightweight trailer

The Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser costs less than most options here, with a median asking price of $26,989 across 15 new listings on Searchshop. Twelve used Vintage Cruiser listings have a median of $19,948.

Gulf Stream lists 12 Vintage Cruiser floor plans, from 20 feet to 26 feet 1 inch long, with dry weights from 2,780 to 4,218 pounds. Gulf Stream describes the 19ERD, which it calls its number one selling Vintage Cruiser floor plan, as a lightweight couples trailer with retro style. Prices come from dealers, not the maker's website.

Oliver Legacy Elite II: fiberglass instead of aluminum

The Oliver Legacy Elite II suits buyers who want a rounded trailer with a molded fiberglass shell instead of aluminum. Oliver builds it in Hohenwald, Tennessee, with a double-hulled fiberglass body on an aluminum frame with a galvanized steel sub-assembly, and lists a starting price of $85,000.

The Legacy Elite II is 24 feet long and 7 feet wide, sleeps three, and has an approximate base dry weight of 4,900 pounds. Oliver lists a five-year structural warranty on the fiberglass body and aluminum chassis. Oliver's site offers factory build reservations and a dealer locator. Searchshop had only one Oliver listing on 13 October 2026, too few to give a typical asking price.

Bowlus: riveted aluminum at a higher price

Bowlus is the alternative for buyers who want riveted aluminum and are willing to pay more than most new Airstreams cost to get it. Bowlus calls its line "The Original Riveted Aluminum Travel Trailer."

Bowlus lists the Rivet from $150,000 and the 27-foot Endless Highways from $185,000. Gross vehicle weight ratings start at 3,500 pounds for the Rivet. Bowlus says most of its trailers are built to order, with buyers reserving a delivery position 6 to 12 months ahead. Searchshop had only one Bowlus listing on 13 October 2026.

Which one should you buy?

The right choice depends on which part of the Airstream appeal matters most to you. Use these questions to narrow the list:

  • You want an Airstream, just not at new prices: shop used Airstreams, where the median asking price on Searchshop was $79,995.
  • You want aluminum construction for less: compare the inTech Sol, from $44,800, and the inTech Flyer, from $15,050.
  • You want a small trailer that is light to tow: look at the nuCamp TAB 320, with a dry weight of 2,110 pounds.
  • You want a lightweight trailer on a smaller budget: look at the Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser and the inTech Flyer.
  • You want a premium build and can wait for it: compare the Oliver Legacy Elite II and Bowlus.
