Buying a motorcycle from Texas Country RV in Canyon Lake, Texas? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Texas Country RV should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.

We rented a 30ft RV from here for 2 weeks to see the Eclipse. The RV drove perfectly with no problems. We had some issues with the fridge not working perfectly, but they gave us a partial refund on drop off for the inconveniece without us even asking for it. Great customer service. Just what we needed. I'll use them again.
We purchased a Landmaster AMP for use maintaining a few acres and getting around the neighborhood. They didn't have the electric AMP model in stock, but Jacob was knowledgeable about the AMP and how it compared to models they had in stock that we could test drive. Jacob helped us understand the options and delivered our custom ordered AMP to our property sooner than expected. It performs well on and off road and fully charges overnight. We'd highly recommend Texas Country RV - good people and great service.
Here's why you may consider not hiring this company. Review of Texas Country RV, 16415 S Access Rd, Canyon Lake, Tx 78133, Owner listed as Michelle Ruff. Joe Ruff was our Contact. In April we contacted Texas Country RV to conduct an inspection and work on our RV to makeready it for a 9-hour haul to a new location. It needed new tires put on, new bearings, possible new brakes, 2 new ac units and to have the roof resealed and some soft spots looked into where we had some leaks. Joe Ruff did the initial consultation, then brought his son Jacob and another man out to perform the work. 3 days later he came out, inspected, and we paid the bill in full. 7 hours into the move the roof began to peel off. By the time we got to our location 20% of it was gone and we found they had not even performed the work we paid for on 1 of the A/C’s. We called on 4/24, sent videos, pictures and got no response other than a text from his son saying Joe would call in the morning. We heard NOTHING. Texted on the 25th, NOTHING. Called on the 28th, spoke to the office and still nothing. Sent an email requesting a refund of the roof work and NOTHING. We've been ghosted for 21 days. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I will be filing a small claim for the $1400 on the shotty work they performed and the cost of the new roof seal in small claims court. He had the opportunity to make this right. Here is a copy of part of the email request, sent on 5/5/25. “Joe - I have given you plenty of opportunity to return phone messages, voicemails and text messages. This is regarding the work performed on our 2016 Crossroads Redwood...specifically the roof reseal work that was not done properly in some areas and incomplete in other areas. The roof reseal was not done properly at the front seam allowing the roof membrane to separate from the roof during transport and expose the wooden roof components. In addition the original problem that you pointed out...the poor sealing along the front AC unit was never addressed. The original old and ineffective seal is still in place. As a result we will need to hire a local (New Mexico) facility to complete these repairs. In the interim, we have placed a temporary tarp over the damaged area to try to prevent further damage from occurring.” I would like to just let people know if they need RV work, this may not be the company to hire.
Had a slide that I couldn't retract and they sent a technician out immediately. Due to the type of slide I had, he couldn't fix it right then, but was able to take the bad motor loose to where we could close the slide. Took to their shop so they could take it apart and replace both motors. They did a great job and fixed the slide quickly. I highly recommend them. They also sent a tech out to someone stranded beside the road and fixed them so they could continue. Whether in house or the mobile mechanic is needed, They are dependable.
Previous review, “Reasonable cost, great service, knowledgeable staff. Exactly what I want when I take my rig in.” Update: dropped from 5 to 2 stars. They were supposed to provide an estimate for some damage and fix my heater and several other things. After 4 months of me calling at least once a week they still haven’t done the 15 minutes of paperwork for my damage for insurance. Got my breaks done there and was over charged. They still seem like good people but they seem to lack the organization to do their job properly. In the 6 trips I’ve had there they have never kept their commitments for being done. Often missing by weeks or months. And twice after weeks of waiting they finally get it in for repair and they didn’t have the parts I told them were needed when I dropped it off. Don’t get carpet done there-I had to redo it
