It pains me to leave this review, but I simply cannot allow this type of behavior and service to go unnoticed. First, I would like to state that I have conducted a legitimate purchase at this dealership for a New 2024 LiveWire S2 Del Mar for approximately $17K in Cash. This review is specifically about the policy and procedure for how a “NEW TIRE REPLACEMENT IS PROCESSED & CHARGED”. In my first month, I unfortunately experienced a Screw puncture on my rear tire on the motorcycle which essentially resulted in needing a new tire. The cost of the tire which is from Dunlop exclusively is $250.00 Now the installation of the tire pricing is by far illogical and downright disgraceful to the actual customers who have done business with this dealership. The dealership's official justification for the cost of this installation totaling $245.00 to just install the tire which cost $250 itself was because the tire was not in stock and needed to be ordered. The actuality is that none of the dealerships have this tire in stock as it needs to be ordered and parts for the motorcycle are not readily available either. However, what upsets me the most is their justification for the overly charged rate of installation merely because the part needed to be ordered and for no other reason. So in simple terms, let's take advantage of these specific customers because we as a dealership did not have this part in stock so we are going to charge you more to install the tire. Finally, it should be noted that if the tire was in stock, the cost of the installation for the tire purchased from the dealership would have only been $49.99 to install the tire. Harley Davidson of New York City’s Mathematic Calculations should be audited and reviewed by Harley Davidson/ LiveWire corporate as they are simply illogical and downright theft of services on the customer. Point blank, regardless of whether you have the tire or part in stock or must be ordered should not impact the cost of how much the installation is (this is theft of services) as you not conducting any more work on the installation because of that aspect. I would like to highlight Empire Harley Davidson in New Rochelle, NY which charges ($250.00) the same for the tire that needs to be ordered. Their cost of installation is only $20.00 when the tire is ordered directly through the dealership and is always in place regardless of if the tire is in stock or needs to be ordered. Empire Harley Davidson clearly cares for their customers unlike Harley Davidson of New York City which only focuses on having two deep hands in your pockets. To think I just paid $17K in Cash for a New LiveWire S2 Del Mar which I went through an obstacle course to obtain, they as a dealership would be more sympathetic or reasonable. Truth be said, they could careless about whether you just bought a new motorcycle from them or not.
Update: May 29, 2024 - Following a disappointingly poor experience at this dealership, I visited Bergen Harley in Rochelle Park, NJ, and was thoroughly impressed. The team demonstrated exceptional friendliness, helpfulness, and respect throughout my interaction. When I requested an all-inclusive, out-the-door price for a 2022 Sportster 48, they promptly provided it, including all taxes and fees. Moreover, they offered an additional discount beyond the initial $2,000 reduction, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction. The entire process, from negotiation to finalizing the sale, was remarkably efficient, taking only about an hour. In contrast to my previous experience at New York City Harley-Davidson, where I was refused a price quote on multiple occasions, Bergen Harley's transparent and hassle-free approach was refreshing. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone seeking a seamless Harley-Davidson purchasing experience. I just came in to look for either a 48 or an iron 883. The customer service was by far the worst I have ever experienced at ANY dealership. They refused to give me a price on any bike that I inquired about and kept insisting on showing me a newer model and stated it was their “store policy”. At the end of it I tried to politely leave and say “I appreciate your time” and the sales manager (I think) refused to shake my hand and said “Well I don’t appreciate your time”. Unfortunately I can’t leave anything lower than a 1 star review. Stay away. Would not recommend to any family or friends.
Ny city Harley is great. The staff are nice and knowledgeable. David worked with us and made sure we were satisfied. Drive out to Long Island and got all the paperwork signed by me so I don’t have to return another day. Too notch dealership will be back when I need an upgrade.
