I had a very good experience with PowerSports of Crofton buying a left over 2024 Sea Born LX24. My salesman, Bob Coover, was easy to work with and always responded instantly to my texts, emails and phone calls. The service manager, Eric, sat with me patiently explained the Maryland fees listed in the contract to me before I bought the boat. The service manager, Ian, was not available to meet the day I picked up the boat but as soon as he returned from vacation he contacted me to make sure I did not have any questions or needs. Great experience buying the boat. I am about a 2.5 hour drive away from them but they are continuing to answer my questions and offer suggestions as I get to know my new boat. Highly recommended.
Honda Generator EU series Tune- up. Ok, here is a long over-due review. We got a potential snow storm coming here in my area. I decided to do the, " tune- up" myself today 1/23/2026 after having it serviced at Crofton MotorSports for about $120 bucks around 2023-2024 ( not sure, a while ago have not used the generator in about 1-2 years after their service). Ran it at least x3 yearly for my 6 hour weekend run. Had to use it occasionaly in my area for power outages due to trees falling in my area ( a common occurance). The generator still runs great. Today I went to change the oil and as soon as I opened the oil plug, oil started to pour out of the recommended fill level- a lot. Paper towels, I thank you. The last maintenance to my generator was done here. It was over-filled. ( maybe they thought they were doing me a favor???) But not. I got lucky as I do not use this generator frequently. It was definitley over-filled. So far my unit is still running fine- is over filling a generator with oil advisable? That is the question for you. Maybe a new technician got a little over-zealous? Positives: selection, service and sales. I would still return with benchmark expectations.
I recently had a new set of tires and brake pads installed on my 2022 Honda GoldWing. The parts department was very helpful in ordering the desired (Bridgestone) tires, and scheduling a prompt service appointment. while the service department provided quick service, I found the service manager and technician lacking in courtesy and professionalism. I have been riding for 45 years - many of those on GoldWings. Honda marks their large motorcycle wheels at the factory to show where to place a tire's heavy point (dot). This aids in balancing the tires. I politely asked Honda of Crofton to mount my new tires' yellow (heavy) dot adjacent to these marks. This minimizes the number of balancing weights required, and provides the smoothest ride possible. I even added tape to the factory marks, and made my request in writing. The manager and technician completely ignored my request, resulting in a huge number of stick-on weights, and a front wheel imbalance. Additionally, the technician broke a panel on my trunk, which I found a few miles after I left the shop. I found the employees unfriendly and uncommunicative. The service manager did not outline what work was completed, nor break down my bill. The facility is crowded with quads, motorcycles, and lawnmowers. There are three basic chairs in the middle of this for customers to wait. No refreshments were apparent or offered. The facility is unclean and unkempt. My "technician" was "pulled from the warehouse" because they were understaffed. I'm not sure he/she is actually a certified GoldWing tech. My experience was underwhelming and leaves me with doubts about the quality of their work. Worst of all is that patronizing feeling of being patted on the head and ignored. I've been riding and wrenching longer than most of these employees have been alive. If you value trust and respect, take your business elsewhere.
I have purchased two Honda Metropolitan's from HPS of Crofton and couldn't be happier with their inventory and customer service. These folks know their products very well and walk the talk. If you are hunting around for a Honda or some kind of bike just go there. They will make it happen for you, and, in my case, even load it onto your car carrier! Additionally, Hondas run forever.
