Decent shop. They did good work but some damage to my rim due to not being able to balance it with the clamp on wheel weights. They should have touched up the paint but they did give 25% of the labor (not the total bill). Now I have to fix the paint. Their system equated to hand written work orders and an antiquated operating system. But nice people and knowledgeable workers (aside from the kid at the parts counter). I am accustomed to the BMW ship in Asheville so I am biased and my bar is set high. Honda MC of Shelby is good as far as “Mom & Pop” Shops go. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring my tire needs there again.
Forty-four years ago a twenty-one-year-old kid, who had done r-u-n-n-o-f-t from the shores of Big Lake (Alligator Lake) in the Sunshine State, purchased a brand spanking new 1980 Yamaha XS850G from David S. Beam, Sr. & Co. at Honda-Yamaha of Shelby. Today that same kid bought a brand spanking new 2024 Honda CL500 Scrambler from that very same Beam family, who treats him like one of their own. It’s special when ninety-one-year-old David (over 70 years in the motorcycle business and over 50 years as a Honda Dealer) shakes your hand and thanks you for your business, son Scott throws up his hand in appreciation as he keeps other customers happy, and grandson David insists you leave with shop T-shirts as he too shakes your hand, and thanks you. What a wonderful experience, all starting with Darren Gibson making you an exceptional deal on a bike, and taking care of your every need.
