Buying a motorcycle from Ertle Powersports in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Ertle Powersports should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Ertle Powersports in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.
Down Payment
10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

Really good experience from the sales team all the way up to management. David Castillo was very pleasant to deal with. The store exceeded our expectations by delivering our new machine the last day of the year. Eugene was very helpful explaining everything about the machine upon delivery. Will recommend this store to anyone.
Recently upgraded to a family car as my family continues to grow and a Subaru Forester Wilderness was the perfect mix of sporty & safe. The car buying process at Ertle Powersports was stress-free and smooth. David Ebuna was a GREAT salesman who answered all my questions regardless of how trivial they were. The Finance Office wasn’t pushy at all and worked with me to make sure I understood the financial terms and all the warranty options. Overall a great staff and I would highly recommend making your next Subaru purchase from Ertle!
One of the best experiences buying a car! Joey was absolutely incredible. He never made me feel rushed in to a car, he was honest throughout the whole process, and really listened to my financial concerns as well as what i wanted in a new vehicle. He hit every mark with ease and worked with me over a week to find the right vehicle. I couldn’t be happier with the service he provided and the smooth purchasing process as well. If you need the right sales guy, ask for Joey!!
My husband and I had such a great experience from start to finish. When we arrived Makayla was going to help us but had an appointment come in so, she asked Kayla to help out. Kayla helped us pick out our Impreza. She was patient, kind, helpful and never made us feel rushed. Steve and Dave in the finance were also extremely helpful!! Such a great experience buying a car, I would have never thought it could be this easy!
Like many other reviewers, I found myself having to pry a bit to get detailed equipment information upfront. That said, the sales manager did follow up after the purchase and provided much better, clearer info. Overall, it was a good experience—but it had the potential to be great with a little more transparency from the start. Updated: the sales team reached back out, and took care of any issues/ miscommunication I had.
