Buying a motorcycle from Commonwealth Power Sports in Prince George, Virginia? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Commonwealth Power Sports should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.

A month ago I was sold a new Kawasaki SxS by Rick. Rick was very helpful and made the experience quick and painless. I asked to have the Wench, and Plow Attachment to be added to my new vehicle loan. Ricky took me over to the parts counter and handed me off to the worst parts guy in the State of Virginia. What I got was just the Plow Blade, no mounting bracket, no twist tube assembly. This was never included with my initial purchase which meant I'd have to pay an additional $1200+ out of pocket, not on my loan. Of course we got bad weather 2x during the time I was awaiting my missing parts kit. I received the kit last week and it doesn't fit the blade that was sitting on my shop floor, now what???? You guessed it. The parts guy screwed me again. Let's see if the new blade fits the kit that I just received. Worst purchase and experience ever.To think, is this the worst it could get, I find out these idiots fired Ricky the sales guy; the one person who actually did their job well. They blamed all the F-ups on Ricky. Go figure. I spoke with the GM about the issue and he informed me that he had fired Ricky, but the goof ball parts guy is still screwing up parts orders. I can't make this mess up. I do not recommend anyone do business with Redline Powersports formerly Commonwealth Powersports.
I just purchased a used Honda Rebel (2024 with ~1200mi) from them. The process was not made the most easy. I requested to see pricing with a specific amount down and loan terms. I was never shown on paper what those would look like but was assured I could probably get to my desired payment. They did offer me a great number on my trade so I was grateful for that, and knew I’d make the purchase if they could get to my requested payment as told. After a few hours and once able to go into finance, she took my down payment and made me fill out paperwork before going over “options”. Just to then present payments $60+ over my requested monthly payment. She then re-routed it to another lender to find one that would meet my requests. That showed that getting the best rate and payment is not their first goal, it was whoever approved it with little regard to what term(s). We finally reached an agreement and I finalized the purchase of the bike. Upon delivery, it hadn’t been state inspected, it was dripping oil, and the gas was on E. They did correct the inspection and I was told the oil was residual, but after taking it home I have confirmed it is actively leaking oil. I’m pretty bummed with the overall experience and I am unlikely to do business with them again in the future. This is obviously not the experience most others have, which is what got me in the door- but it’s unfortunate that it has happened. Just beware!
Redline Powersports-Commonwealth is the place to go if you’re in the market for a new or used toy. They have a huge selection of different brands and products with the most affordable-best prices around. I purchased the 2025 Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. and let me tell you- I’m beyond satisfied with my purchase cause this thing is BADASS! Their Customer service is outstanding. I wanna give a shout-out to William Jones and Parker. They BOTH made the whole process SUPER SIMPLE! and are just great all-around guys! William was my salesman and is very knowledgeable in all the different brands and products that they offer. He helped me generously with everything I needed to know about my ATV. He made the sales process super easy and is VERY down to earth and NOT pushy at all! Parker was my Finance Manager. He made the purchasing process a breeze! He is very knowledgeable about all the different financing options and made all the numbers make sense! I could keep going on and on… I will definitely be a lifetime customer. Thanks again guys y’all are awesome!
I had a very disappointing experience with Redline Motorsports. I was in the process of purchasing a 2021 Yamaha GP1800R SVHO. We agreed on a price and I was ready to take it home, at which point I was informed that the jet ski did not have a title. I had already put down a $1,000 deposit and was told they were actively working to obtain the title through Maryland FWC. After following up a month later, I was then told that they had not actually started the title process at all. Communication throughout this entire period was poor and inconsistent. On top of that, I raised a concern about an oil mist/slick on top of the engine, which I was told was normal, something that didn’t sit right with me. In fact it is not normal, I bought the same model after this ordeal and put 100 hours on the jetski, no oil mist on top of the engine. Due to the continued lack of communication and confidence in the transaction, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Even getting my deposit back was a hassle, it took 3.5 weeks and multiple follow-ups before I finally received the refund check. Listing a jet ski for sale without having a title in hand is unacceptable, and the overall communication throughout this process was inadequate. I strongly recommend taking your money elsewhere.
Justin Davis was very helpful with the process, very friendly and help with everything i had questions about. He is a good customer service rep, knew his stuff. It was a good experience we talked and laughed alot. He is very good at his job.
