2026 KTM RC 390 Review: Power, Specs, and Features

2026 KTM RC 390 Review: Power, Specs, and Features

The KTM RC 390remains a favorite among riders who want track-ready performance in a street-legal package. This latest version expands performance capabilities even further, which I discovered during two weeks of testing on both track and street. A compelling option in the entry-level sportbike segment emerges through its updated electronics package, refined ergonomics, and sharp handling. The previous generation delivered impressive capabilities, and this new KTM RC 390 elevates the experience with significant technological and performance improvements. Let's take a closer look at the features that make this Austrian machine distinctive in today's competitive motorcycle market, from its remarkable top speed to its attractive price point.

PERFORMANCE OVERVIEW

My thorough testing of the 2026 KTM RC 390 revealed its exceptional performance capabilities. The bike's heart is a liquid-cooled 373cc single-cylinder engine that pumps out a strong 44 horsepower and 37 Nm of torque.

Engine Power and Torque Analysis

The engine's character stands out in its power delivery. A 40% larger airbox and refined fuel mapping have improved the throttle response by a lot compared to older models. The bike shoots from 0-100 kph in just 5.2 seconds, making it a standout performer in its class.

Track Performance Capabilities

The RC 390 comes alive on the track. The WP Apex suspension setup has a 43mm inverted fork with 30 clicks of compression and rebound damping adjustment. The ByBre braking system with its 320mm front disk and 230mm rear disk gave me consistent stopping power during intense track sessions.

Key Track Features:

- Cornering ABS with Supermoto mode lets you control rear-wheel slides

- Motorcycle Traction Control works with lean-angle sensitivity

- Optional Quickshifter+ makes gear changes smooth

Street Riding Experience

The RC 390 strikes a perfect balance between performance and practicality in daily riding. A 52.8-inch wheelbase keeps the bike stable, and the 3.6-gallon fuel tank gives enough range for commuting and weekend rides. The PASC slipper clutch proves valuable especially when you have city traffic, as it prevents rear wheel chatter during quick downshifts.

Performance Specifications:

- Engine Type: Single-Cylinder, 4-stroke

- Compression Ratio: 12.6:1

- Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
