Buying a boat from The Marina in Angola, Indiana? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask The Marina which models suit the waterways near Angola, Indiana.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at The Marina.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like The Marina will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. The Marina should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through The Marina in Angola, Indiana.
Typical Loan Terms

We bought a boat from the marina in summer of 2025 and it was one of the easier purchases I’ve made. When calling I first spoke to the owner Craig- who was honest, and did not pressure me at all into a sale. He was able to set up a test ride the next day with Jeremy who runs the sales department. Again, great experience with Jeremy, he took us out and let us drive the boat, no pressure at all. We decided to move forward and the pricing was fair as it was listed in my opinion. Jeremy even dropped the boat off at the launch, and dropped the trailer at our house for no extra cost. We will continue to do business with the marina moving forward.
I bought a used boat from Jeremy and everyone at the Marina was amazing to work with! My bank was a pain and they helped out in every way to make sure it was done! Everyone was extremely friendly and some of the guys spent extra time with me talking about every aspect of the boat to make sure I knew it inside and out! Highly recommend buying from Jeremy!
I recently bought a used Harris tritoon from Jeremy at the Marina. The staff there were very helpful, hooked it up and fired up the motor for me. Great boat and highly recommend The Marina, great experience. Thanks Jeremy!!!
Great Mastercraft dealer! Craig, the owner, is very knowledgeable when it comes to all of his products but Mastetcraft especially. He gave up his Sunday afternoon so that we could test drive a new XT20. We are trying to find the best boat to ski and surf behind to replace our x30. He offered to take us out on the lake to try it first hand. Great service, not a pushy sales guy and he has done everything possible to make sure we are comfortable that we are buying the right boat for our family.
I bought a brand new mastercraft boat from this place. It cost me over $125,000. I’ve had nothing but problems with it since I bought it and their reluctance to come and fix it has been in corrigible. They keep blaming it on me that I’m doing something wrong. I’ve had over 10 ski boat on the cheeks and I decided to go to mastercraft, what a mistake. The service here is terrible, the sales is even worse. I wanted to sell this boat to get out of it and I’ve had it sitting at the dealership for over a month and they haven’t even listed it for sale. The biggest time of the year to sell a boat and mines been sitting there not even listed. The place is terrible, if you’re going to buy a Mastercraft don’t do it here,It will be a waste of your time and you will walk away frustrated
