Expansion continued into the automobile market with the purchase of the American Motors, Jeep, and Renault franchise and then the creation of Thayer Marine Inc in 1987. Over the years siblings Chuck Jr, Kris, and Candi Thayer have joined Michael and now it is truly a family run business.
What a great company! From start to finish this company follows through! We had nothing but a top notch service experience! Kris Thayer was so kind, knowledgeable, and patient with us through our entire buying process. We ordered our boat at the end of May and had it delivered to us on July 17th, despite a major fire that burnt their building to the ground 8 days prior to our boat delivery. Zach, who delivered our boat was amazing! He went over every single detail to help us get to know our boat and make us feel comfortable before he left. If you are in the market for a boat this is the company you want to use. I highly recommend!

We were referred to Thayer by our nextdoor neighbor. They only had good things to say about them. We just bought a lake home last year. We have been looking for a 2023 Bennington pontoon for a year now. Every pontoon we were interested in ,the sales people tried to over charge us. We talked to Jane , one of the owners of Thayer. Gave her what we wanted in our pontoon, we negotiated. We got exactly what we wanted at the price we had budgeted. They not only did that , they also threw in pickup and drop off,with a year of storage and winterization and that's not cheap. We are extremely happy what the service from Thayer. I Will recommend them to whomever looking for a pontoon.
Thayer marine was amazing to work with. As a first time boat buyer I had a lot of questions. Candi was great to work with; No pressure, just support. I came back multiple times and she was always helpful. I started off looking for a used boat but saw a new one that I really called my name. With rebates, a sale they had running and good financing through Thayer, I got a great boat for a great price. When Zach delivered the boat, he spent time with me making sure I was completely comfortable with the boat and all the features. They offer winter storage, all the winterizing services with pick up and drop off that is very reasonably priced and takes all the worry about those issues out of the equation. Customer service was second to none at Thayer Marine and I highly recommend them.
This is a great family run business with great customer service. Our purchase(great job Jane) and delivery went smoothly. Delivery consisted of a 2 hour explanation of all boat components by Zac, from minor motor service to in water operations. After owning for a while minor problems were addressed quickly (thanks Clayton), and we have no regrets about our purchase at Thayers. I highly recommend them for your next boat!
