At best these guys are completely incompetent, at worst they are scam artist. I recently took my 2007 Ski Nautique 226 TE with ZR6 motor in and was extremely disappointed with the service. It first started in summer last year. Would start and run fine but had less power than usual when ballast was fully loaded. I took it into the shop because I wanted it fixed ASAP. They said they looked over the engine and everything was fine, then charged for a water test and swore it was the settings for the cruise control which they claimed to have fixed. I was adamant that it wasn't the issues but they wanted me just try with new setting. That did not fix it so they said whole cruise control system was bad and needed replaced for "big expense" after hundreds in labor. I bought the upgraded GPS guided cruises control ($700) and installed myself, which was literally plug and play with little to no labor. This still did not fix the issue. Was nearing the end of summer so just dealt w the issue for rest of 2024 season. Then, I went to winterize and found water in the oil. I took it to them again they did a compression and leak down for another $600 and told me the engine was shot and needed to be replaced with a $30k estimate. None of the issues they brought up even explained why there was water in the oil. 2 cylinders had leak down significantly and 1 cylinder had higher pressure on the compression test which they said its probably a stuck valve and left it at that. I picked my boat up and dug into it myself. Sure there was some compression loss on the 18 yr old boat but engine ran fine, no way it was trashed. With in a few minutes of investgation by myself, as a backyard mechanic, I noticed a bolt between riser and manifold lose. Took off the manifold and was a puddle of water inside, leading to cylinders. Shocker, the cylinder that had high pressure was the cylinder at the lowest point feeding into that manifold. Maybe that should have been a clue for the professionals that I paid hundreds for, to investigate that side? Went ahead and just replaced that manifold and riser ($1k) and ran perfect all season 2025. Winterized again myself a couple weeks ago and not a drop of water in the oil.

Very knowledgeable and patient with us…we had lots of questions before purchasing our gorgeous Chaparral boat! The entire staff was amazing! We had a great experience and highly recommend Poplar Pointe Marine!! Shouts out to Cooper and his dad Kevin and of course Sean!! You guys are the BEST!! We love our “new” boat!! The boutique is adorable and has fabulous stuff!! The restaurant Shady Shake is WONDERFUL!!! Food is excellent and the service even better!! For the record…I came up with the name for the boat…LOL….”MAKIN WAKES” !!!! Thank you again for EVERYTHING!! We love you guys!!

Rented a boat for our weekend at the lake and it was not only the perfect fit for our group, but it was extremely well-kept and Steven was really helpful getting us all set for an enjoyable day on the lake. Fully equipped with all the life jackets we needed as well.
