Buying a boat from Pete Jorgensen Marine in Beaumont, Texas? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Pete Jorgensen Marine which models suit the waterways near Beaumont, Texas.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Pete Jorgensen Marine.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Pete Jorgensen Marine will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Pete Jorgensen Marine should be able to walk you through the paperwork.

A great place to bring your boat for repairs but make sure you bring your wallet because you will need it. Remember boat stands for Bust Out Another Thousand.
I am very disappointed about the sad work ethic shown when I left my boat in their care to have a few minor details repaired. The bottom of the boat had scuff marks that were painted over poorly-the paint on the boat is smooth, except for these places that were needing to be repaired, they are textured and looks like it was done in a rush without care of detail. Another place on the end of the motor was repaired but has a new dent that was not there before, the paint also contains bubbles that were not buffed out in between coats. The whole end of the boat is covered in white paint splatters and overspray in places that should not have even needed to be touched. The boat has been in their shop for 2 months! When I picked up the boat, I looked it over and voiced my concerns, they didn't seem to care but to tell me what I owed. I highly do not recommend using them for repairs. What a joke. I should not have had to pay the amount that I did for the poor work ethic and carelessness.
This is the only place I take my outboard for service. They have the most up to date equipment and employ only the best mechanics. They also have a complete parts department and the most knowledgeable service manager in the area. When given a turn around time for work they are always on time too. They really do take the worry out of service. They also have a dynamic sale department and are Yamaha and Mercury sales and will service any make or model. They also sale the top brands of boat in any size and configuration to meet anyone's needs. From family friendly pontoons to tournament ready rigs for bass and saltwater. From a tune up to a major overhaul and installation of all the extras that make your time in the water the best it can be.
Spencer was fantastic. I work in sales at a boat dealer so very familiar. I bought a pathfinder sight unseen and it was as smooth of a process as it could be. Would recommend them to anyone with confidence
Bought my boat back in January 2015. Salesman Eric was awesome helped me find the exact boat and outboard combo I wanted. All add on accessories I chose were very well priced. Whole process was very friendly and professional. Even through mechanical issues service department was amazing. They were always willing to honor warranty work without question and do quality work and thorough test drives before returning boat. Even stayed over to meet me if I'm running late from work to pick my boat up before a weekend. A truly amazing dealership. My next boat will defiantly be coming from here!
