I have waited 4 months before posting a review. I did this because typically when you’re buying something new the service is always good at first, so I wanted to wait until I needed them after buying. I will start by saying the buying process was seamless. I was waiting to sell another boat before purchasing and Derek held this boat for me for over a month without deposit. If you’re trying to buy a boat right now you understand why this is a big deal, he could’ve sold this boat to 10 other people while waiting for me. The first day out on the boat I had an incident trailering where the guide polls scratch the decals on both sides of the boat. I called Derek and he told me not to worry, he would order new decals and put them on at no cost. This was my screwup and to have a dealer offer to do this at no cost made me feel I chose the right boat dealer for my purchase. Fast forward 4 months and I had to bring the boat in because of an issue with it not engaging when I put in forward. As usual Derek was there to greet me when I arrived, listened to me explain the issue an immediately got on the phone with his technician to get me in queue to get this fixed within a day. While I was there I asked him about adding sea deck to my swim platform and steps, again he jumped on the phone and had that scheduled to get done on the next day. I was nervous at first making a big purchase like this from a dealership I was not familiar with, I now am very comfortable with that decision and would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new boat. Ask for Derek, he will take care of you I promise.
Incredible business with even better owners. Ray and Laura provided us a phenomenal boat buying experience and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. There is nothing more we could have asked from them. We are customers for life. Love the boat, love the business and love the owners. Top notch and simply the best.
Thank you Action Boat Center! Ray Guy and his wife Laura are the owners. I was really impressed with how they operated. It was a no pressure deal and Ray made sure we had the right fit boat for our family. Ray encouraged a sea trial to make sure everything was in working order (some smaller shops don't encourage a sea trial). He added a Bimini into the deal and even went a step further by ordering stainless to match the hardware. This is going above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He has a yard worker named Miguel who did an awesome job detailing the boat. He brought the shine right back. Overall this was a very good experience and I would do business with Action Boat Center again for sure! Thank you Ray and Laura!
Best buying experience I’ve ever had and I haven't even fully bought the boat yet. At this past boat show I bought a 2022 Blackfin. Let me start out by saying they were very comprising and willing to make a fair deal. Got great prices on add ons, they paid for one Garmin I paid for another, installed everything for basically free. Truly got what I wanted put on the boat with no compromises. I wanted welded bunks on the trailer, ( my past boat had bolted bunks and I hated them, they would move and it was horrible) The trailer came and it had bolted bunks, with no hesitation Ray Guy and Derrick the salesman, kicked in and Assured me the trailer would be shipped back to the manufacturer and the bunks would be completely re done. And I would not be “ forced” to purchase the boat with bolted bunks. Sure enough within the day the boat was personally driven back to McClain trailer by Ray. And it was back the next day, absolutely incredible. All the add ons that were installed have been installed at a very high quality, and so far so good. Fast forward to Friday, the day before Saturday ( sea trial day. ) My father, who I was going to take on the sea trial with me. Had a heart attack, and now of course we’d be unable to make the sea trail. When I called Ray and told him I would not be able to make it, of course he said don’t worry about it. But then he said a prayer on the phone with me. And it brought a tear to my eye to see, there are still good people left in this world. Not everyone is a “ cheesy salesman” and that this dealer, had real people. Not trying to screw people over, but trying to bring joy selling people boats and hoping to make a little money in the process. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a boat somewhere else. 1000000/10 recommend.
Found a 2004 28' Parker center console at Action Boat Center in Texas and spoke with Ray Guy. The contract we signed said boat was free and clear of all liens and I would receive all titles and paperwork at the time of payment. The Parker was delivered to me in Delaware without paper work (it had a Lien on it). After 2 months of calling Ray, having to rent a boat in Florida for 2 months and contacting Texas Parks and Wildlife Department I finally received the paperwork for the boat. Prior to the purchase, Ray told me he had the boat out personally and it runs great! I received the boat and it barely ran. 150 gallons of water in the starboard tank, fuel fitting coming out of starboard tank clogged, thermostats clogged solid with salt, starboard motor gearcase full of water (no oil at all) the VST tank filters clogged and full of dirt, one battery dead, navigation lights did not work and so on. After about 3K in repairs and 7K in boat rentals I finally received title and I am able to use the boat. So much for trusting a dealer.
