Shopping for a vehicle at Buy-rite Auto Sales in Shakopee, Minnesota? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Buy-rite Auto Sales if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Buy-rite Auto Sales if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Buy-rite Auto Sales.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Buy-rite Auto Sales in Shakopee, Minnesota puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms
48 to 72 months is most common. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down reduces your monthly payment and improves your loan terms.

I am SO glad I found this place!! I am a single 48yr old female ,so having to buy a car was stressful. I had been to a couple of the big dealerships and had a bad experience. I have been driving crap cars for 32 years. I know a thing or two. I was having no luck and being treated like a dumb dumb. I was about to give up. Then I saw the exact car I was looking for!! I immediately drove there. The guy that helped me first was kind and friendly, I was very comfortable there. I test drove the car and was in love. The owner even let me take it to my mechanic!! My mechanic said yes. A week later I went and bought the car. The whole thing was amazing. Not once did they treat me like I was an idiot. I have already told a couple people about this place!!!! P.s don't let the old reviews fool you. The people I worked with took over the place 2.5years ago.
Kinda annoyed, they pulled my credit for a loan on a truck they sold. Feels like a bait and switch tactic. Response: I used to sell cars, you told me being 4th of July weekend some lenders were not open. If your trying to sell a truck and took all the info for a loan application, you don't sell that truck until the deal is dead. The whole "oh just sold it" is a ploy we used all the time on the lot. That's ok, try to tarnish my name because I don't have perfect credit. Your loss, I was in the market for a few vehicles. Know lots of people also looking. Won't be sending them your way and just purchased a SUV elsewhere. And will be going back there for another truck. Id give less than 1 star after that response and taking a picture of this because I'm pretty sure your not supposed to talk about people credit publicly. After reading your reviews, looks like i dodged a bullet anyways.
Bought a gmc acadia in August last year. I paid 8700.00 cash. Did not know it had a bad engine. I maintain my cars very well and after my first oil change that I also got a transmission fluid flush I started hearing a slight knock in the engine. I really didn't pay it too much mind. After my second oil change it got louder. Then one day I started it, went to the store and it would not start again. I bought a brand new battery for 150 and that was not the problem. I had to have it towed home. I then had it towed to a shop and they told me the engine was no good. Bas timing chain was just one of the problems. I had to either get new engine or i could fix the timing chain and take my chances with it being something else. They said it would cost me at the least 3 grand. I could not afford that. Unfortunately I bought it as is. This was a beautiful car n the outside and in, under the hood was something else. It's easy for these dealerships to hide small issues until it leaves the lot. I had to junk my car for less than 500. So in short the car lasted 6 months I paid 8700- +300 (tows) + 150 battery -500= 8650 loss fir a car that lasted 6 months. The only advise I can give is to shop around. This was my 5th car that my husband and I have bought from a dealership in the last 4 years and this was the only one that was not good. I still own 3 of them and they are all in great condition. I even had a friend that I helped find a car at a different dealership and hers is running and performing great. ( and she paid cash for her car too. Now with that being said I have to say that I cannot blame them for the fact that the GMC Acadia is known as a bad car to invest in. But if they would have just given me better service and spent some time with helping me find a better car on their lot, I might have been a happy customer and a return customer. I even went home and slept on it. It was clear that they just wanted to make a quick sale. We have spent thousands on cars in the last 4 years. (And I have receipts) But I will be going to one of the other dealerships for my next big investments I would make this place a last resort. Proceed with caution.
Horrible! Bought a jeep commander from them a few weeks ago with cash. The jeep had been sitting on the lot for months. The guy took some money off it saying that he was doing that since my brother and wife got their vehicle there and was trying to give us the best deal. Not even 2 weeks later I go to get my oil changed and have a leak and find out my oil pan is rusted out. I called them about it and was rudely told that I should have had a mechanic look at it before I bought it and that I'm out of luck. Finally after I threw a big enough fit explaining that I'm not paying an extra 700 for a fix on a car I just bought , they said Ron would only pay a few hundred bucks to get it fixed and I have to pay the rest. Pretty much said it was my fault for buying it like that. No one told me it had that and when we were gonna get another jeep the older gentleman kept saying it's probably cheaper cause of a salvage title, which it did not have. Needless to say I'll never be back nor will my brother or his wife. They just lost 3 customers! I now cannot drive my car I spent 7000 to buy. Horrible customer service.
Purchased a 2013 traverse was told it was dealer certified inspected and in perfect condition nothing wrong. Same day of purchase was stuck in snow storm for about a hour made it 25 miles transmission started slipping dealerships closed next day issue was gone. Still called dealer and owner was out of town but they will take a look, didn’t find anything wrong with it and gave it back. 175$ dealership fee from Chevy I paid for says wire harness in bumper was wet and causing short.. since then found out struts are bad 1300$ 1400$ for module dealer. I just paid my first car payment and I have a car that I can’t drive safely. Buy right auto told me they don’t know what to tell me... yet they got 15,000$ of my money cash! I owe my credit union not buy right? Buy right is scam artist and karma can only be waiting I have children and a full time job to tend to.. stay far far away! I didn’t argue with them when they said they could not help me... stay away from here U
