Auto Buyer's Guide – Beaverton Kia

Shopping for a vehicle at Beaverton Kia in Beaverton, Oregon? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.

  1. 1

    Pull the vehicle history report

Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Beaverton Kia if a report is available for any listing.

  2. 2

    Take a thorough test drive

Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.

  3. 3

    Inspect for hidden wear

Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.

  4. 4

    Get a pre-purchase inspection

Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Beaverton Kia if a third-party inspection is permitted.

  5. 5

    Negotiate the out-the-door price

Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Beaverton Kia.

How to Finance a Auto at Beaverton Kia

We had a great experience with Beaverton Kia. Car buying is stressful, but the team there made the entire process comfortable and easy. I found a vehicle on a site and reached out. Beaverton Kia reached back out very quickly and we scheduled a test drive. Tess, who took care of us, was friendly, down to earth, and non-pressuring. After the test drive we determined we wanted to move forward. The team found me a great rate and we drove out a little while later. I'd recommend this dealership, we felt they were very up front with us, worked with our financial needs/goals without hard press sales tactics. We didn't buy a new car, we purchased a used car that was under $14K. My wife and I still felt that we were treated as if were buying a new car for twice the purchase price. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a new or used car.

I had an excellent buying experience here recently. I went to the dealership simply to research the EV9, and with no interest in any of the other Kia vehicles. Agustin, the sales rep, showed me the EV9 and then patiently (not at all pushingly) walked me past all of the other SUVs. I very much appreciated that Agustin answered my questions without pressuring me in any manner - not to test drive, or talk numbers, or anything like that. Within a week, my partner and I had discussed several different vehicles, before landing on the Sorento hybrid. Throughout this process, all the way through our purchase, Agustin was responsive, patient, and accommodating. I’ve been really happy with the vehicle, but it’s too early for a car review, and you can find plenty of those from reputable experts! But I am comfortable sharing that my experience with Agustin and Beaverton Kia was exceptional.

I had very good experience with Mr John Erik Rodriguez. He is so helpful and made the buying process really smooth. He helped us from start to finish. I really appreciated his nice service. Beaverton Kia gave very good trade in value as compared to other dealers. However, I did not get response about the car when I asked about color change. The back bumper color is slightly different from the lift gate and I sled about the reason. But I did not get any response. That’s why I am giving only one star.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability and professional integrity at Beaverton Kia. This is the only shop that has ever serviced my vehicle (currently at 27k miles). In September, I brought my car in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Immediately afterward, the car’s handling felt "off" the tires squealed on highway curves and the cruise control began disengaging during turns. Hindsight I should have immediately taken my car back, but they had done a recall on my car so I thought maybe that effected the cruise control, and I thought maybe my tires just had to settle after the tire rotation. When I returned on 12/10/25 to address this, the service advisor, Aaron, confirmed that the rear tires were severely worn. He immediately said that someone had touched the alignment on my vehicle which he later confirmed in a video he sent to me. I had told him no one else had touched my vehicle, and he asked me if I bought the vehicle there. I told him no and then asked if I wanted to take it to the dealership I bought it from to get a second opinion. I had no idea why he would even suggest that as where I bought my vehicle would have nothing to do with the issue with my car. I felt like he was rude and condescending and was accusing me of lying and that I must have taken my vehicle to another shop for an alignment. The most alarming part? Aaron stated multiple times that “someone had touched the alignment.” Since Beaverton Kia is the only shop that has ever worked on this car, the only logical conclusion is that the alignment was improperly adjusted by their own technicians during the September visit. Despite this, the dealership is refusing to cover the cost of the alignment or the replacement tires costing me almost $700. It is deeply concerning that a dealership would admit a vehicle's alignment was "touched" and then refuse to stand by their work when they are the sole service provider. I have been forced to escalate this matter to Kia Corporate which is still pending. To add to the frustration, the quality control during this most recent visit was severely lacking. They performed a recall repair, but when I went to pick up my vehicle, I realized they had installed the wrong trim color. I had to point out the error myself and wait for them to fix it before I could leave. When I got into my car to leave, I also noticed they had left tools sitting on my seat. Several of the employees joked about the shop being dark but not that dark, and couldn't believe that no one noticed the mismatched trim. Sadly this is not their first error with me. In previous visits they had ordered the wrong part that they didn't discover until I had been sitting there for over 2 hours. I had to then take another half day off from work to bring the car back. Another time I made an appointment to have the window trim replaced on my car after the trim literally just fell off while driving. They acknowledged it was a known issue and we had called ahead of time to make sure they had the parts in stock as I didn't want to have to come back. When I went to drop my car off they expected me to leave it there for 2 days "to figure out what was wrong with it". I told them that we told them what was wrong with it over the phone, and that they confirmed they would have the parts to fix it which they did not. I then had to bring it back another day for them to fix this known issue that later turned into a recall. Warning to others: If you value your safety and expect a shop to take responsibility for their mistakes, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. A routine service here resulted in a dangerous mechanical failure that they now expect me to pay for. I am attaching two pictures. One shows the wear that happened to my tire from the end of September to the beginning of December. Also note that when I went in September there was no uneven wear noted for my tires. The other picture shows the very obvious mismatched trim that nobody noticed yet I immediately noticed as soon as they pulled my car up.

Overall, the process was very simple. I was there 4 1/2 hours to wrap up a lease deal which was a little long, but I appreciated the time that Kristen took explaining the differences between leasing and purchasing, and my pivoting vehicles last minute. She overall was a great help, very knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, personable, and very accommodating. I would recommend seeing her if you’re going to buy a Kia, the dealership is clean and the people are friendly. They have a lot of inventory so choices are many. Let’s face it when we wanna buy a new vehicle it’s a tedious process with the sometimes long back-and-forth of negotiations, but overall dealing with one person now from start to finish really is much easier than 10yrs ago when you would be shuffled from one person to another person to another person, then end up with somebody totally different from when you begin the process. I appreciated Kristen‘s kindness, wrapping everything up quickly after we came to a deal with making sure the vehicle was cleaned, gassed up, and out front, and ready to go for me, and removed my license plates off of my other vehicle. She also assisted with setting up my Kia connect and made sure that it was all good to go in the brand new vehicle. The Complementary bottles of wine was also a nice gift. Thank you Beaverton Kia, and kuddos to Kristen for being a great Saleslady 😉
