Shopping for a vehicle at Auto Outlets Usa in Rockford, Illinois? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Auto Outlets Usa if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Auto Outlets Usa if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Auto Outlets Usa.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Auto Outlets Usa in Rockford, Illinois puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms
48 to 72 months is most common. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.

Paid cash for a 2016 Cadillac..came with one destroyed key fob "cost me 275$ for a new one .also had a dead battery in key fob $13 same day..waited months for my title which he wrote the wrong address on so I had to figure that out.plus the day the purchased the car he said I'll order you a front license plate bracket. Never heard from him stopped in 2 months later he said oh sorry I forgot I'll do it today..it's now 7 months later and guess what......still no word on my license plate bracket..Tom tells you what you want to hear to get the deal done..after that good luck .would Definitely not recommend his car lot
They accepted a jountly owned vehicle witj a forged signature in April 2024. They never contacted other vehicle owner for consent or to even verify that the title was signed by the co-owner. They accepted stolen property. If you bought a 2012 hyundai Tuscan that is metallic light bluish silver than yoy bought a stolen vehicle with a civil suit against the dealer. It also needs approximately $3000 in repairs, starting with fuel punp, springs on front end and more. It is currently not safe to drive. My ex traded in the Tuscan due to the issues without my consent. Return the vehicle to dealer. Also, get inspection done on any used car you purchase; its worth the $100.00 to not end up dead in a used car that is not safe to drive.
I wasted 4 hours of driving on a lie from Tom. Tom told me the vehicle was priced at $13,900 and I asked if he would negotiate if I brought cash and assured me he would. I found it had been for sale with another car lot at $12,500 just a few months prior with same odometer reading so I know he must have purchased well under that price. After I drove the 2 hours to his business he informed me he incorrectly stated the price and it was actually $14,900 but he'd give it to me at 13,900, ugh! I believe his nice "act"is what gives used car salesmen the stereotype. Topping it off, the vehicle was thick with rust underneath and I fear the subframe was damaged from it. Beware the "nice guy midwest accent" and any promises made by phone.
Tom was a nice guy. Unfortunately they sold me a van that's giving me alot of problems 5 months later. I called and was told he would help me out with a different transmission, (that had 70k miles on it) for not much of a discount.I asked him if he could do better and he said he will call me right back. I never got a call back. Well I just bought a new transmission and the engine just started acting funny. My 10k van just cost me an extra 4k. I don't think I will be buying or recommending them again. Cars look great on the outside but the internals might not last you.
I bought a car in February of 2015 from them. By September the transmission went out due to heavy stop leak and other stuff put in it the antifreeze line blew up in the trans. October 2016 the timing cover blew because all of the stop leak finally gave out. Now the car sits in a garage and doesn't move. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS! They will say it's a great car but in all reality it is garbage. Over $3000 in just repairs in 2 years it's not even upkeep (oil change, tune up, etc). These guys are horrible.
