Shopping for a vehicle at Art Butler Auto Sales in Accident, Maryland? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Art Butler Auto Sales if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Art Butler Auto Sales if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Art Butler Auto Sales.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Art Butler Auto Sales in Accident, Maryland puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms
48 to 72 months is most common. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down reduces your monthly payment and improves your loan terms.

Absolutely the best experience! I appreciate Lisa and the team beyond! Made this process so easy and quick! I LOVE my new vehicle, im beyond grateful 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Came in for an alignment, called the morning off and the receptionist redirected me to the shop, the got me in when noone else local could, dopped off the car that evening and picked up the next day without a hitch papers in hand, quick and easy.
My family has bought many vehicles from this family owned business and I wish there were 10 stars to give them! Every single experience is always pleasant and easy. We have bought over 7 vehicles from Butlers and everyone has been a quality vehicle that they stand behind. I don’t write reviews regularly and if I do I assure you there is a reason. This is a dealership that you can trust and will want to buy from over and over!
Great people. They sale quality vehicles at a great price. No pressure at all. Filled out credit application on a Thursday night. Called me early in the morning Friday. Went up to test drive and drove my truck home Friday afternoon. Great deal and better interest rate. And most of all they do not push all the extra BS charges that other Dealers do. Hopefully can find my Granddaughter a car up there in August. Will recommend to everyone I know.
We had a very pleasant experience with Duane. He really did make trading our vehicle easy and as stress-free as possible, and helped us get into the truck that we wanted. After shopping around at many dealerships and getting very frustrated, Art Butler Auto was a breath of fresh air. 100% recommend them to anyone looking to trade or buy a car!
