Shopping for a vehicle at Affordable Auto Finance in Modesto, California? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Affordable Auto Finance if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Affordable Auto Finance if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Affordable Auto Finance.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Affordable Auto Finance in Modesto, California puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms
48 to 72 months is most common. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down reduces your monthly payment and improves your loan terms.

Very friendly people! Love my car, very reliable.
These people are crooks they sold me a car for 5000 and as soon as I drove it off the lot the check engine light came on. Not to mention the control arms were knocking very loud. There was also damage and when it started raining was born into my car. I'm a struggling single parent and it was really hard for me to get this car. When I requested for them to help me they they gave me the run around and then eventually the 30 days was up and I was stuck with the vehicle and they would not help me with anyting. Don't trust this business if you value your livelihood.
We've bought three vehicles from this place. None have lasted longer than a year and a half. The Mitsubishi Outlander we purchased lasted between 6-8 months before the transmission went out. They towed it and probably resold it and we were out $6500. A Nissan Quest we purchased lasted a year before the catalytic converter went out. Naively, we went back to buy another car from them because we do like the people who run the business. They are friendly and easy to talk to. The current vehicle had issues the day we drove it home. They fixed it, but then another problem popped up a few days later. They said they would check it bumper to bumper and make sure everything wrong was fixed. A week and a half later, I found myself stranded out of town because the battery (that they said was put in new the day we bought it) was dead. AAA came and jumpstarted it for me, but two days later, it was dead again. At this point, we just wanted a refund because we knew more problems would keep popping up. I do not feel safe driving my children in it, especially if it might break down out of town. They refused. They would rather I sell it myself on craigslist. Now we are stuck with a car we feel unsafe in. I regret buying it. I regret believing them each time they said there would be no more problems. If you do business there, get a 30-day warranty and have the car checked by an independent mechanic. I wouldn't ordinarily feel moved to write a negative review, but I feel let down by them time and time again. I naively believed them when they said they put a new battery and when they made sure nothing else was wrong. I hope that by sharing my experiences, someone can exercise more caution than I did and avoid a regretful situation.
I paid cash for my car and paid it off within 1 to 2 weeks. They gave me the paperwork to the car for me to complete the paperwork for the tags and license. When I went to dmv I was told that it wasn't showing that I had paid any sales tax on it and for me to complete it I would have to pay 556. dollars to bring it current and for the taxes. I didn't have all of it and when I took it back and told them what I was told I was informed that dmv didn't know what they were doing or talking about. They got the car from a bay area auction and I feel at that time is when they should have taken care of the back tags and penalties not for them to have me do it just because I was moving out of state. So beware if you have to deal with them, also you couldn't really see out of the windows very good due to whatever was on them you couldn't get it off of them. Goo gone and alot of other things didn't work on them either.
Can keep their word Liars money hungry manipulators did I mention Liars their cars are garbage. I bought two cars from them and my ex girlfriend one and all 3 cars not in good condition mechanical wise those five stars our family giving them 5 stars more people should rate them so people will know what they're about
