Shopping for a vehicle at Action Auction in Santa Rosa, California? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Action Auction if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Action Auction if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Action Auction.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting Action Auction in Santa Rosa, California puts you in a stronger position.
Typical Loan Terms
48 to 72 months is most common. Shorter terms cost less in total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down reduces your monthly payment and improves your loan terms.

Robbin and Jim did a phenomenal job. I’m glad Robbin picked up my phone call that day. My wife and I went in with the intent of buying one car, but we ended up buying two on the same day! Their service was excellent, earning this 5 star review. We enjoyed talking to both of them. Their dealership is an old school mom and pop car lot with balloons tie in the front. This brings back the good o’ days. Both our transactions went very smoothly. They price their cars just right. Robbin is very thorough with her work. I would definitely consider buying from Action Auction again. Thank you.
I was searching for a car for me son. When I came across this car from Robin at Action Auction I jumped on it. Robin was super fair on the price and she showed my the car fax and repairs they did after getting the car in. I felt comfortable pulling the trigger on this Hyundai Elantra. My son was amazed on how clean the car was. I would definitely recommend Robin, Jimmy & Action Auction to anyone looking for a good used car or truck. Easy Peasy!
Jim and Robin of Action Auction are great to deal with. Honest, trustworthy and professional. Bought a little VW Bug a few years back for my niece, great condition and low mileage. My niece got my folks old car, so I kept the bug. Excellent car. Will be going to them soon to find a little. Commuter car, as I know I can trust them. Highly recommend them
BUYERS BEWARE! Unless you want to get scammed out of your down payment and having the car “repossessed.” Just for them to turn around, keep your down payment and resell the car…. I would definitely go somewhere else. I’m in the process of legally perusing my “accusations” towards them. I would seriously just hate to see another single mom get taken advantage of the way this company did to me.
I got an amazing deal on a Mazda 6 and the experience couldn't have been better! The owners are absolute sweethearts. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for something reasonably priced with good quality!
