I bought a truck from these guys in Sept of 2023. Paid cash and traded in a vehicle. Now 2+ years later I still can’t get my registration or pink slip for my truck because they never transferred the title electronically. I’ve called multiple times and get sent to voicemail. I’ve left several messages and no one ever calls me back. Ended up going into CHP office to get assistance since dmv is no help. They attempted to call and never got an answer. Per CHP, they told us to sue them and they seem like a shady company. Couldn’t agree more CHP. Go somewhere else it’s not worth your time or the headache.
I would stay away from this dealer. We were interested in a 2007 Sequoia that had been on the market for almost a month. Was priced at a value commiserate with no mechanical problems and minor cosmetic blemishes (Good Condition - Carfax value using actual VIN, mileage, service records, location, retail price). After discussing the vehicle with the sales rep and asking about any problems with it, we decided to have it inspected by a third party mechanic (at our expense of over $200) and dealer agreed to let us know if there was any other interest. Independent inspection came back with over 2k in mechanical repairs and deferred maintenance needed on the vehicle. We let them know that there were problems and that we would be prepared to make a lower offer based on the mechanical condition to cover the repairs, or if they wanted to cover the repairs at their cost (and provide proof that the work had been done), it would bring the value of the vehicle up their price and we would make them a cash offer. The rep said that our request was reasonable, and was going to check with his manager. A few hours later, the manager came back and said that there was interest all of a sudden from a potential buyer who had the vehicle inspected the prior week and was interested in paying full price. Dealer never disclosed that the car had been inspected or had an interested party in any prior conversations. When pushed, the manager (Manny) finally disclosed that multiple people had the vehicle inspected prior to us, knew that there was substantial repairs that needed to be done (said that he had just found out today from the interested buyer that there was over $2k worth of work needed). Had we known upfront that there had been a number of inspections, we would not have paid to have the vehicle inspected or wasted our time. Here is the VIN In case you end up with this vehicle: 5TDZT38A07S287280. This is why used car dealers have a bad name. It's fine if you want to hold out for a higher price, just be upfront with people before they invest money and time in doing due diligence on a car that clearly had problems (multiple people interested enough to pay for an inspection, and then not place an offer after receiving the results).
We found a 2006 Ram 1500 truck online, and on a Saturday took the scenic route from Oakland over the Golden Gate bridge and up to Petaluma to see it, along with our toddler granddaughter. We were pretty pleased with how the truck looked, so husband took a drive and decided to buy it. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful. While granddaughter and I waited inside, one saleswoman got the child some crayons, and coloring book, along with cold bottled waters for all. The paperwork part was a bit tedious, but better than the usual way at dealerships when it takes hours of bickering and dealing with the financing dept. When we started to leave we noticed that the key fob didn't work properly, and that the doors didn't lock or unlock except manually. They tried to get us to take the truck, then bring it back later to have it looked at/repaired, but I refused to drive the truck off the lot until the problem was corrected. We left the truck and were told it would be ready in a day or two. We drove back up on Monday only to be told the truck still wasn't fixed. I was pretty mad that I wasted my time, and gas. They told us they would get it fixed, and deliver it to our house. Then they kept making excuses of why they couldn't find anyone to drive over to Oakland for a whole week. Finally, the following Saturday, we drove back to Petaluma and picked up the truck ourselves, and it still was not fixed. If left up to me, I probably would have backed out of the deal, but my husband was willing to work with the dealership, and take the truck back for repair later once the parts arrive. In the long run, we got the truck, mileage, and price we were looking for.
Nice place have a pretty good selection of trucks the sales people are very nice and knowledge I find the location a little difficult to get to expecially if your not familiar with the area other then that it's clean new small
We bought a 2017 Ford escape last year 18 days later the motor goes bad I called the dealership as they sold me a warranty and asked to take the car back to get it checked. They said they couldn’t do anything about the problem but they could refer me to a body shop they highly recommend it after a few days I called the body shop, and they told me the car was not in their possession so I waited for two weeks without having any communication from neither the dealership or the body shop so I decided to walk into the office. To only find out that they were giving me the wrong information about the body shop. Were they hats in the car my car wash in someone else’s body shop and they hadn’t done any work at all. finally that day after talking to George they took my car to another body shop to not make the story so long. The car was at the body shop for over six months until I had the car back fixed I was promised to get a second key to the car and what I get in the mail is just a key that needs to be programmed and they’re expecting me to pay for the programming after all this hassle I would never do business with this company again.

Shopping for a vehicle at TruckMax Usa in Petaluma, California? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask TruckMax Usa if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask TruckMax Usa if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at TruckMax Usa.
