Shopping for a vehicle at 19 Auto Group in Chantilly, Virginia? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask 19 Auto Group if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask 19 Auto Group if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at 19 Auto Group.
Auto financing is competitive. A little preparation before visiting 19 Auto Group in Chantilly, Virginia puts you in a stronger position.

I’m changing my review from 5 stars to 1 because this dealership completely lied to me. I bought my car and paid in full, but they still haven’t sent me the title. Every time I contact Karam, he gives me excuses that his boss haven't sign the title yet and says it will be sent soon, but nothing ever happens. It’s been weeks and I’m still waiting. This is unacceptable and very dishonest. Be careful — once they get your money, they stop caring. Update. I’m updating my rating to 3 stars. The buying process was initially smooth, but it took a while for the dealership to send me the title, and the seller wasn’t truthful about the delays. Fortunately, I eventually received the title by mail and had no issues registering the car at the DMV. After driving it for a bit, I noticed the A/C stops cooling after a few minutes. My mechanic checked it, adjusted the pressure, and added refrigerant (I paid $80), but the problem is still there — I’ll have to fix it in the coming weeks. I also had several warning lights come on, I sent an email to the dealer regarding the issues but no one never replied, fortunately my mechanic found out it was just a loose ABS sensor cable. Another thing is the $899 dealer processing fee, which is much higher than what most other dealers charge. Currently the car feels good, I hope I don't have to deal with any other problems for the moment besides the A/C.
Had a wonderful buying experience! Tommy and the rest of the crew over there were very friendly, and fully addressed any concerns that I had. Now enjoying my new-to-me car and glad to have had such a great experience!
BEWARE PURCHASING A CAR FROM HERE. Purchased a 2012 Volkswagen Golf was told it was 65k miles in good condition. Not even a day after purchasing the car, I got a check engine light for the Mass Airflow Sensor and the Air injector bank one. Got it replaced by 19 auto group. 2 days after i got the car back, I received a check engine light for an EVAP Leak. After another 2 days, the car broke down and started to overheat because the alternator's pulley snapped off. Had a mechanic inspect the car just to tell me it is not worth fixing the car and it will not pass inspection. The engine was in bad condition and not taken care of. The chassis of the vehicle was completely rusted, as well as brake calipers and shocks. Spoke to the owner of 19 auto group so they can honor their contract in refunding me for selling me a car that is in unsafe condition and having "total failure of covered part to perform its function due solely to defect in workmanship, material or normal wear and tear". That car WAS NOT 65,000 miles due to the amount of rust and damage it had. If I find out that the odometer was tampered with, I WILL PRESS CHARGES AND HAVE YOUR DEALER LICENSE REVOKED. I will be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and to the State Attorney General.
Update 3 DEC: My replacement wheels came in so I went to a shop to get the tires and wheels mounted. During that time, the ebrake completely failed and my car will not move. I left it at the shop until they can get the parts to fix it. Because it’s stuck, now I have to pay someone to fix it Update 1 DEC: The check engine light is due to a thermostat issue. The code was cleared by a technician and I will have to see if the code returns and monitor temperature while driving. Update 30 NOV: Check engine light came on Update 27 NOV: I have no words. See the pic below showing the driver side fog light is held up with electrical tape. Update 24 NOV: I was going down an unlit back road so I tried to turn on my high beams. Guess what? What high beams? After fumbling the switch, it will only stay on if the stalk was held back and up. So I held that position to keep the light on. Update 25 NOV: When I test drove the car, it was on local streets around the dealership. When I picked up my car and got on the highway, it had a bit of a vibration. So on the 23rd I thought to replace the engine and trans mount as said below. What I discovered after closer inspection, the vibration was also coming from the wheels. I pulled the front to wheels and I found a lot of wheel weights glued to the inside to counter balance the vibration because the wheels are bent. So I just spent $900 ordering a set of wheels. Update 23 NOV: I decided to replace the engine and transmission mounts that are bad. The steering rack was leaking really bad. The picture was at the beginning I removed the under pan. I probably lost 8oz or so. I saw the vehicle I purchased twice. The first time I looked at it, there was TPMS issues. I pointed out there is oil stain on the inside of the convertible roof. I left the dealership and a couple of days later I placed a deposit on the car believing the issues will be sorted. When I returned the second time to pick up the car, everything seemed fine and the salesman said the mechanic looked over the car and everything is fine. In less than 24 hours, the convertible top hydraulic starts to leak. Then I was unable to get it to closed. I called the salesman and he told me to drive it to another location where their mechanic is located. It was a horror. The types of cars they purchase to put on the lot should not be allowed. It was definitely sketchy. It took me and the mechanic an hour and half to get the top to close manually. We couldn’t close It all the way so when it thunderstorm the following day my car was collecting water inside the door and floor area. The windshield fluid bottle did not hold fluid so the entire gallon I put had leaked out. Then the power steering pump started to whine and the steering wheel was getting harder to turn. Upon inspection, the power steering has relatively new RTB liquid gasket. Meaning it was worked on and reinstalled. I contacted the dealer and asked for them to at minimum purchase me a new set of hydraulic actuators so I can close the convertible. I don’t need them to do it, I can install it myself so it was sort of a compromise. They insist they had heavily discounted the car. They are hiding behind the as-is clause. To me it’s a matter of principle. All of these issues happened within 24 hours of driving off the lot and all I asked was them to do the right thing by purchasing me the actuators so I can close the top properly to stop further damages. There are other consumers that I had found out after the fact had worse issues than I did like blown motors or spending $4k of their own money to salvage what they had already invested in. All within six months from the day I bought mine. I have started a consumer fraud complaint with the DMV. These people give the used car industry a bad name when there are other honest used car dealers trying to earn a living. I highly recommend you see the cars they are working on to get on the lot yourself before you decide to buy from them. The garage is located in Chantilly VA, and the location I purchased my car from is Manassas.
I bought a car back in June 2025, they said they had just fixed the AC and everything was working. Now in the winter, I turn the heat on and only cold air comes out. I take it to the mechanic and tells me there was no motor heater control installed. I had been removed. Now finding one has been an issue, with the piece that being available, or the piece overpriced. Don't buy from this car dealer, and don't deal with Tommy. They are all "used car" salesman.
