I recently bought a used 2017 Indian Roadmaster from Rice’s Rapid Motorsports. The experience was so wonderful and pleasant, I felt I needed to share with everyone how well it went. I spotted this beauty on their website, and I will say the site had a ton of information (good pictures and a detailed write-up of the bike). Since the bike was located in Rapid City South Dakota and I live on the Texas gulf coast (roughly 1300 miles away), detailed and timely communication was extremely important to me, and I couldn’t have asked for any better service from the start of the process to the completed purchase. Everyone at the dealership was so friendly and helpful, but there were a few folks that especially stood out through the process. Larry Stanley was my first contact. I had a couple of specific questions, and he contacted me back very quickly after I sent my initial inquiry. He checked out the few things I asked about and even sent additional photos and a few videos to allow me to hear the stereo and the engine running. Tobi East, the business manager then contacted me and made sure all the various paperwork would be completed before I arrived to test the bike. She also outlined several aftermarket warranty options. She made the actual purchase very pleasant. And finally, Kyle Griffith was my “on the spot” sales consultant. Kyle worked with me from my arrival in Rapid City to the time I left. Since I was flying in to test drive the bike, Kyle even came to the airport to pick me up and take me to the dealership. Because the test drive was in South Dakota in December and I’m from Texas (not use to snow and ice), Kyle made sure to scope out a route for me to test drive that was free of ice and snow to make the drive as comfortable as possible. He went over all the specifics of the bike and explained the trucking details for having the bike shipped. He walked me through the dealership and introduces me to everyone, including the owner. Everyone was so friendly and supportive. I’ve worked with several dealerships in my 50+ years of driving and never have I had such a pleasant, friendly, and memorable buying experience. I would HIGHLY recommend Rice’s Rapid Motorsports for any purchases you might be considering. They have multiple brands and models to chose from and the staff are all very helpful.
rices rapid review for you all! stay away! go to spearfish! Rice’s Rapid Motorsports (Rapid City, SD) - 1/5 Stars I’ve had nothing but the worst service at Rice’s Rapid Motorsports in Rapid City. For starters, I bought my 2026 Suzuki GSX-8R there, and I’ve had nothing but issues with it. My speedometer is 9 mph off, which is outside of Suzuki’s guidelines, yet the mechanics at Rapid claimed it’s only 3 mph off when they checked it with a GPS. I’ve had law enforcement verify my speed, and it’s 100% 9 mph off. They told me it’s within Suzuki’s guidelines and there’s nothing they can do. Later, I noticed an exhaust leak sound. Upon inspecting my exhaust, I found a factory defect with the muffler where an extra bung hole wasn’t welded properly. The mechanics at the Rapid City store told me it’s normal because it’s a “drain hole” on top of the muffler. This is a direct quote from their service shop. FYI, there is no drain hole, and if there was, it definitely wouldn’t be on a welded bung hole on top of the muffler. That was strike two. A couple of weeks later, I noticed paint chipping off my rear disc, which isn’t normal. I stopped back at the Rapid City store, and a mechanic came outside to look at my bike, only to tell me it’s brake dust and not paint chipping. After doing my own research and talking to two other shops, it’s clear this is a defect on the bike. I’m absolutely disgusted with how the Rapid City Rice’s Motorsports location is run. The mechanics don’t seem to have a clue what they’re doing and are giving out bad info that could be a liability. My money will no longer be spent there. For the Rapid City location: You need serious work. Not only is your customer service absolute trash, but you have untrained, un-knowledgeable people working on customers’ equipment. That’s a huge liability, and it’s only a matter of time until a lawsuit comes your way. Your sales reps suck and have no knowledge of the products; I’ve had salesmen leave in the middle of a deal to go work with someone who just walked in the door. It’s all about money in Rapid. I have nothing good to say about this location except if you want to go somewhere where they really don’t care or know much of anything, check out Rice’s Rapid Motorsports.
Where do I begin.... I'm from about 4 hours away and after months of being lied to and jerked around by local dealers I started expanding my search. I stumbled onto a really good used unit at rices and called to make arrangements to see and purchase it. I was assured by the owner that it was in perfect condition, it had 48 miles. When I got there it was obvious that something had happened to it, and they had tried to conceal it. They did a pretty good job of it too. When I mentioned to Garrett, he was genuinely surprised. I don't think he knew, I think they had a lot of units and a plastic was a little crooked, and that was that. It wasn't until a hard look that it was obvious that someone had had some sort of incident with it. Garrett NEVER tried to give me a line of crap, he owned the oversight. He immediately put together a several hundred dollars worth of product to fix it, after clarifying with me that I could handle the repairs. It took zero prompting from me for him to do it. Then a few weeks later I found a cv axle that was bad, I called to order one and Garrett offered to ship one to me at no cost. They have gone WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. It's a breath of fresh air to find a powersports dealer that's not just trying to make a sale. They genuinely want me to be happy. They play the long game. And it works. As long as I'm able, they'll be my go-to for ALL of my powersports needs!
Tobi was fantastic, helpful, and caring during our trade in and purchase process. Although she is only in financing/paperwork she made the process easy, and I would request her if you can. She is down to earth, truly cares about the customers, and we give her FIVE STARS! This was our second time working with Rice's as our first purchase was in 2019. The service department is also awesome as we have worked with them many times over the years. However, our sales person Rob gets only one star. He started working there a few months ago so is newer, which is fine, but he did not know anything about our new side by side and was the least helpful person there. His minimal passion for powersports showed, but maybe in time will improve. He seemed like a nice guy, but you will definitely have to search Google or ask elsewhere if you have any questions about the products being sold. Thank you though to Rice's for another great ride!
dealing with Steve to trade in and purchase, a motorcycle was easy as can be. No song and dance, just straightforward honesty about the values of the trade-in and the bike they were selling. also, Tobi was very polite and easy to deal with when finalizing the paperwork. I would make Steve your go to Guy if you want honest negotiation, and no BS

Buying a snowmobile from Rice's Rapid Motorsports in Rapid City, South Dakota? Use this checklist to avoid costly surprises.
Inspect the track and slides
Lay the sled on its side and check the track for cracks, missing lugs, or cuts. Pull the track away from the slides and check for wear groove depth — worn slides increase drive noise and reduce efficiency.
Check the hood and tunnel for damage
Cracks in the hood or tunnel can signal a past crash. Look for mismatched or faded plastic, which often means replacement panels were installed after damage.
Inspect the carbides and skis
Carbide runners on the ski underside provide steering. Worn carbides (less than 3/16" remaining) reduce handling on packed snow. Ski replacement is inexpensive, but factor it into your offer.
Check coolant and oil
Pull the coolant reservoir cap and oil tank dipstick. Milky coolant signals water contamination. Low or dirty oil signals deferred maintenance. Ask ${dealerName} for service records.
Ask about storage and season history
A properly stored snowmobile — fuel stabilized, fogged engine, battery maintained — will start and run far better than one that sat neglected. Ask Rice's Rapid Motorsports about the unit's storage and riding history.
Snowmobile financing is seasonal. Knowing the basics helps you get the best deal at Rice's Rapid Motorsports in Rapid City, South Dakota before the riding season starts.
Typical Loan Terms
24 to 60 months is typical for snowmobile loans.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down is standard. Off-season purchases sometimes qualify for promotional rates.
Pro Tip
Get pre-approved by your bank before visiting Rice's Rapid Motorsports — it gives you a rate to compare against dealer financing.
Manufacturer finance programs (Ski-Doo, Polaris, Arctic Cat) often offer zero-interest or low-rate deals in the off-season. Ask Rice's Rapid Motorsports what programs are currently available. Buying in spring or summer often yields better financing deals than buying in fall.
