Very easy process. Excellent selection. Salesman was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Actual purchase transaction was smooth and effortless. Will definitely drive by my local dealership and return.
My first time walking into this place was a disaster! The sales person named Bruce was very rude and didn't give any care what so ever that I wanted to buy a utv that day. I told him I planned to go home with something today. I even brought my trailer to do so. He told me he couldn't do anything else with the price and basically refused to talk to his sales manager after the initial trip to his office. I told him I'd go so where else and buy one. He said, ok. Bruce is a very bad representation for the Montana Power Products company. I left, but had the money and wanted the utv I looked at. After lunch, I went back and spoke to a different sales person who was an absolute awesome guy! Very knowledgeable and explained what he can do for me as far as the price. (I'll leave a different review for him. This one is for Bruce) I ended up buying the utv I wanted from Eli. He was extremely nice and is good at what he does. I ended up only saving $150 buying it from Eli, but it was all about knowledge and mostly the attitude.
The shop in Hamilton did a great job getting me out the door with a new KTM for my son at a great price. They made sure I could get everything I needed, and were decent people about it. If you're looking for a new KTM check out the shop in Hamilton.
Just to let the public know of our personal experience with the sales person Austin at Montana Power Products in Ronan , Montana was disingenuous. We were assured that the used side by side we purchased had been inspected by the Polaris company and by the mechanics in their shop that there were no problems with this machine. After taking it home and driving it less then 1 mile we noticed several mechanical noises and periodic stalling of the engine while slowing down or stopping. When we contacted Austin and informed him of these issues and that I had contacted 2 other mechanics they advised us that it was probably defective clutches and / or drive belt problems. Austin stated that they had not detected any problems during their inspection. We find this disturbing as neither myself or wife are mechanics and found problems right away. I cannot believe that these Polaris inspectors or Montana Power Products mechanics found nothing. I would not advise doing any business with Montana Power Products if this is how they treat there customers and stand by their products. Very disappointing and dishonest business.
I was looking for a Polaris Rzr RS1. No longer made, so a bit hard to find. MPP Ronan had one used, low miles, last year of production. Called and spoke with Danielle and decided to check it out. Left Idaho for Montana, the first trip out was just to look at it and make sure I fit in it etc. All good. The dealership is nice for a small town! Clean, well stocked. I worked mainly with Danielle and Colin. Everybody was super friendly though! My experience was silky smooth, communication was excellent! Even though they are a bit of a drive, if I was shopping for a brand they carried I'd definitely give them a shot for the sale!

Buying a snowmobile from Montana Power Products in Ronan, Montana? Use this checklist to avoid costly surprises.
Inspect the track and slides
Lay the sled on its side and check the track for cracks, missing lugs, or cuts. Pull the track away from the slides and check for wear groove depth — worn slides increase drive noise and reduce efficiency.
Check the hood and tunnel for damage
Cracks in the hood or tunnel can signal a past crash. Look for mismatched or faded plastic, which often means replacement panels were installed after damage.
Inspect the carbides and skis
Carbide runners on the ski underside provide steering. Worn carbides (less than 3/16" remaining) reduce handling on packed snow. Ski replacement is inexpensive, but factor it into your offer.
Check coolant and oil
Pull the coolant reservoir cap and oil tank dipstick. Milky coolant signals water contamination. Low or dirty oil signals deferred maintenance. Ask ${dealerName} for service records.
Ask about storage and season history
A properly stored snowmobile — fuel stabilized, fogged engine, battery maintained — will start and run far better than one that sat neglected. Ask Montana Power Products about the unit's storage and riding history.
Snowmobile financing is seasonal. Knowing the basics helps you get the best deal at Montana Power Products in Ronan, Montana before the riding season starts.
Typical Loan Terms
24 to 60 months is typical for snowmobile loans.
Down Payment
10% to 20% down is standard. Off-season purchases sometimes qualify for promotional rates.
Pro Tip
Get pre-approved by your bank before visiting Montana Power Products — it gives you a rate to compare against dealer financing.
Manufacturer finance programs (Ski-Doo, Polaris, Arctic Cat) often offer zero-interest or low-rate deals in the off-season. Ask Montana Power Products what programs are currently available. Buying in spring or summer often yields better financing deals than buying in fall.
